Ni/Ge/Ni/Au multi-layer metal electrodes were prepared on N-GaAs substrate by electron-beam evaporation to investigate the effect of annealing process parameters on N-GaAs ohmic contacts. In the annealing temperature range of 370 °C to 430 °C, the metal-semiconductor contact was found changing from Schottky contact to ohmic contact as the annealing temperature was above 380 °C. Specific contact resistivity of n-GaAs samples firstly decreased and then increased with the increasing of annealing temperature, and the minimum specific contact resistivity of 3.3×10 -5 Ω·cm 2 was formed at 420 °C annealing for 80 s. Although the specific contact resistivity of the metal-semiconductor contact performed satisfactorily, the surface morphology of the n-GaAs metal electrode was found having metal shrinkage after annealing. The formation mechanism of ohmic contact was qualitatively explained by the elements diffusion under different annealing parameters, which were confirmed by the comparative analysis of SEM and EDX results. © 2021, The Authors. Image encryption architecture exploiting finite-precision error for system-on-Chip and programmable logic devices

Security in interconnected system-on-Chip (SoC) devices is increasingly critical as their adoption expands, driving demand for cryptographic solutions that are both robust and cost-effective. Hence, this work addresses the challenges of implementing chaos-based encryption schemes on digital hardware by introducing a novel image encryption approach based on the mathematical complexity of Chua’s circuit. It exploits finite-precision computational errors as a noise-like entropy source within the encryption process. Using High-Level Synthesis (HLS) with C/C + + , we implement two parallelized Digital Chua’s Circuits (DCCs), each numerically resolved via the fourth-order Runge–Kutta method and using distinct natural interval extensions. The lower-bound error is then extracted from the chaotic circuits and used to generate the final keystream. Optimized for IEEE-754 floating-point arithmetic, our stream cipher enables efficient hardware synthesis and achieves high cryptographic performance, reaching the target error threshold within a few clock cycles. The proposed image encryption design passes the NIST SP 800-22 test suite and achieves strong NPCR and UACI scores (over 99.6 % and 33.4 %, respectively), demonstrating efficiency and robustness against common attacks. Moreover, implemented on a ZCU104 evaluation board, the architecture can process one pixel in just 70 clock cycles with a low energy cost of 0.42 μ J using only 48 DSPs (2.48 % of available resources). By bridging chaotic dynamics and practical SoC architectures, this work provides an encryption solution that balances hardware consumption and energy efficiency.

Motion Projection Consistency Based 3D Human Pose Estimation with Virtual Bones from Monocular Videos

Real-time 3D human pose estimation is crucial for human-computer interaction. It is cheap and practical to estimate 3D human pose only from monocular video. However, recent bone splicing based 3D human pose estimation method brings about the problem of cumulative error. In this paper, the concept of virtual bones is proposed to solve such a challenge. The virtual bones are imaginary bones between non-adjacent joints. They do not exist in reality, but they bring new loop constraints for the estimation of 3D human joints. The proposed network in this paper predicts real bones and virtual bones, simultaneously. The final length of real bones is constrained and learned by the loop constructed by the predicted real bones and virtual bones. Besides, the motion constraints of joints in consecutive frames are considered. The consistency between the 2D projected position displacement predicted by the network and the captured real 2D displacement by the camera is proposed as a new projection consistency loss for the learning of 3D human pose. The experiments on the Human3.6M dataset demonstrate the good performance of the proposed method. In existing protection and monitoring system of substation(S-PMS), there are compatibility problems between hardware and software or between software-hardware combinations and systems, including differences in communication protocols between different manufacturers and differences in system adaptation. Compatibility issues have become a growing focus area for the power industry. This paper proposes a method to evaluates the compatibility of the protection and monitoring system of substation based on the G1 and expert investigation, for the existing or unbuilt substations. In detail, Firstly, according to the compatibility requirements of the substation protection and monitoring system, corresponding indicators are proposed and a comprehensive compatibility evaluation model is constructed. Secondly, based on the comprehensive evaluation model, the evaluation results of typical stations without domestic chips and optimized stations using domestic chips are compared to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.

Models of strategy evolution on static networks help us understand how population structure can promote the spread of traits like cooperation. One key mechanism is the formation of altruistic spatial clusters, where neighbors of a cooperative individual are likely to reciprocate, which protects prosocial traits from exploitation. But most real-world interactions are ephemeral and subject to exogenous restructuring, so that social networks change over time. Strategic behavior on dynamic networks is difficult to study, and much less is known about the resulting evolutionary dynamics. Here, we provide an analytical treatment of cooperation on dynamic networks, allowing for arbitrary spatial and temporal heterogeneity. We show that transitions among a large class of network structures can favor the spread of cooperation, even if each individual social network would inhibit cooperation when static. Furthermore, we show that spatial heterogeneity tends to inhibit cooperation, whereas temporal heterogeneity tends to promote it. Dynamic networks can have profound effects on the evolution of prosocial traits, even when individuals have no agency over network structures. © 2023, CC BY.

Iterative learning control applies to systems that repeatedly execute the same finite duration task. The distinguishing feature of this form of control action is that all data generated on a previous execution of the task are available to compute the control action for the subsequent execution. This paper uses the linear repetitive process stability analysis and optimization techniques to design a dynamic controller that, in contrast to previous designs in the repetitive process/2D systems setting, does not require measurement of the state dynamics or observer-based estimation. Supporting experimental validation results are also given.

Substation is the core hub of power system. With the expansion of the scale of the power system and the improvement of its intelligence, the problems of the redundancy of architecture and equipment in the protection and monitoring system of substation can no longer be ignored. This paper proposes an evaluation method for integration in the protection and monitoring system based on G1 method. Firstly, according to the requirements of integration in the protection and monitoring system, the corresponding indicators are proposed to form an index system for evaluating integration. And then, an evaluation method is proposed for integration of the protection and monitoring system, based on G1 method and expert investigation. Finally, the feasibility of the evaluation method is verified by comparing and analyzing the evaluation results of a typical substation and its structural optimization substation.

An Improved Result on Stabilization of Switched Linear systems with Time-varying Delay ⁎

This paper revisits the stabilization problem of switched linear systems with time-varying delay via state dependent switching strategies. In contrast to the existing works, the commonly adopted stable convex combination assumption is relaxed in this paper. For switched systems satisfying the relaxed assumption, we design a state dependent switching strategy, under which the considered system is asymptotically stable at the origin in the presence of time-varying delay. An optimization problem is formulated to estimate the upper bound of tolerable time delay. Numerical examples are presented to show that our method is applicable to a larger class of switched systems and leads to greater delay bound.

NccFlow: Unsupervised learning of optical flow with non-occlusion from geometry

Optical flow estimation is a fundamental problem of computer vision and has many applications in the fields of robot learning and autonomous driving. This paper reveals novel geometric laws of optical flow based on the insight and detailed definition of non-occlusion. Then, two novel loss functions are proposed for the unsupervised learning of optical flow based on the geometric laws of non-occlusion. Specifically, after the occlusion part of the images are masked, the flowing process of pixels is carefully considered and geometric constraints are conducted based on the geometric laws of optical flow. First, neighboring pixels in the first frame will not intersect during the pixel displacement to the second frame. Secondly, when the cluster containing adjacent four pixels in the first frame moves to the second frame, no other pixels will flow into the quadrilateral formed by them. According to the two geometrical constraints, the optical flow non-intersection loss and the optical flow non-blocking loss in the non-occlusion regions are proposed. Two loss functions punish the irregular and inexact optical flows in the non-occlusion regions. The experiments on datasets demonstrated that the proposed unsupervised losses of optical flow based on the geometric laws in non-occlusion regions make the estimated optical flow more refined in detail, and improve the performance of unsupervised learning of optical flow. In addition, the experiments training on synthetic data and evaluating on real data show that the generalization ability of optical flow network is improved by our proposed unsupervised approach.
