Considering the important role of representation element in an interval-valued fuzzy set for decision analysis, the concepts of three parameters interval-valued fuzzy set and three parameters interval-valued fuzzy value are proposed, and some operators on three parameters interval-valued fuzzy values are given, and a new distance between three parameters interval-valued fuzzy values is defined. Based on the proposed distance, a TOPSIS decision-making method is shown for a multicriteria decision-making model on three parameters interval-valued fuzzy sets. Finally, a practical example is provided to illustrate the method's effectiveness.

Home automation systems based on wireless sensor/actuator networks are characterized by diversity of node power sources, limited computational power, and mobility. We propose a routing protocol that fully uses the location of static nodes to limit the search for a route to a small zone based on the analysis of characteristics and requirements. The calculation of two different kinds of zone and the route discovery procedure are described in this paper. According to the environment of home automation, we compared the performance of our routing protocols with the ad-hoc on-demand distance-vector protocol using simulation and gave suggestions for zone selection. Simulation results showed that our routing protocol dramatically reduced the routing overhead and increased the reliability.

In recent years, the increase of non-linear loads in electrical power system has sparked the research in power quality issue. The shunt active power filter (SAPF) is a power electronic device which has been developed to improve power quality. The current control of shunt power filters is critical since poor control can reinforce existing harmonic problems. Various control strategies have been proposed by many researchers. In this paper, a comparative evaluation of the performance of two current control techniques, resonant and predictive controller, is presented with identical system specification. The design procedure and principle of both current control methods are also presented in detail. Simulation results show the comparison of transient response, steady state control and performance in the presence of variation of supply impedance between two control techniques.

This paper represents an emulation of fuzzy logic control schemes in autonomous parallel parking system in a backward maneuver. There are four infrared sensors sending distance data to microcontroller for generating an obstacle-free parking path. Two of them mounted on the front and rare wheels on the parking side are used as the inputs to the fuzzy rules to calculate a proper steering angle while backing. The other two attached to the front and rear ends serve for avoiding collision with other cars along the parking space. At the end of parking process, the vehicle will be in line with other parked cars and position in the middle of the free space. A construction of fuzzy rules is designed based upon a wall following process. The effectiveness of the controller design is demonstrated in the experimental results.

For the past several years, we have studied the high-temperature superconducting (HTS) synchronous motor assembled with melt-textured Gd-Ba-Cu-O bulk magnets. If the single pulse field magnetizes a bulk effectively, size of electrical motor will become small for the strong magnetic field of the HTS magnets without reducing output power of motor. In the previous study, we showed that the HTS bulk was magnetized to excellent cone-shape magnetic field distribution by using the waveform control pulse magnetization (WCPM) method. The WCPM technique made possible the active control of the waveform on which magnetic flux motion depended. We generated the pulse waveform with controlled risetime for HTS bulk magnetization to suppress the magnetic flux motion which decreases magnetization efficiency. The pulsed maximum magnetic flux density with slow risetime is not beyond the maximum magnetic flux density which is trapped by the static field magnetization. But, as for applying the pulse which has fast risetime, the magnetic flux which exceed greatly the threshold penetrates the bulk and causes the disorder of the trapped magnetic distribution. This fact suggests the possibility that the threshold at pulsed magnetization influences the dynamic magnetic flux motion. In this study, Gd-Ba-Cu-O bulk is magnetized by the controlled arbitrary trapezoidal shape pulse, of which the maximum magnetic flux density is controlled not to exceed the threshold. We will present the trapped magnetic characteristics and the technique to generate the controlled pulsed field.
