Resource-constrained flexible job shop scheduling problems are commonly encountered in some manufacturing industries, and have been widely studied in recent years. However, traditional resource constrained flexible job shop scheduling problem rarely consider the uncertainties in actual manufacturing systems, which may make the original schedule become suboptimal or even unfeasible. Therefore, a resource constrained flexible job shop inverse scheduling problem (RCFJISP) is proposed in this paper, which aims to cope with uncertain events by simultaneously adjusting the machine, worker and process parameters of the original schedule. A multi-objective optimization model is constructed to minimize the makespan, worker cost, machine energy consumption and deviation index. Furthermore, an improved memetic algorithm (IMA) is developed for solving the proposed problem. In IMA, a novel double-layer encoding mechanism is designed to enhance the capacity in exploring new solution's domains. Three initialization strategies utilizing original scheduling information are designed to improve the quality of initial solutions. An adaptive mutation strategy and a local search mechanism are designed to enhance exploration and exploitation ability of the algorithm. And a crowding operator is proposed to reflect the diversity of the population effectively. In computational experiments, 28 extended benchmarks are constructed, and the effectiveness of the proposed strategy and algorithm is verified by comparing IMA with its 4 variants and other 4 widely used algorithms. Finally, two inverse scheduling problems of a real-world hydraulic cylinder machining workshop under two uncertain situations are studied. The results demonstrate that IMA can effectively solve the actual inverse scheduling problem. With a slight adjustment to the original scheduling, it can reduce the makespan by 11.5%, the worker cost by 8.1% and the machine energy consumption by 27.9% on average. © 2024 The Society of Ma

This paper presents a robust fast-terminal back-stepping control approach applied to a three-omni-wheel robot. For highly maneuverable and flexible robotic systems as three-omni-wheel robots, achieving effective control and precision tracking is a significant challenge. Through analyzing the kinematic and dynamic features of the system, mathematical models are thoughtfully proposed. Based on the Lyapunov stability and finite-time stability criterion and back-stepping scheme, we developed a control algorithm that allows the robot to track to the desired velocity trajectory, thereby ensuring the robot follows the expected shape on the global coordinate despite the disturbance impacts. The numerical simulations compared with classical sliding mode control are then implemented to validate the effectiveness of the whole work. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an inductorless direct-injection power flow and quality control topology. The circuit removes any bulky low-frequency transformer and includes a shunt active front end and high-frequency links that powers a series floating module per phase. These floating modules are connected in series with each phase and omit any ground connection, thereby only dealing with a small portion of the voltage difference. Unlike other low-voltage power controllers with full converters, the direct-injection circuit presented here does not need to handle full power, which allows for the utilization of low-voltage high-current GaN transistors. As a result, high-frequency switching can be adopted, and the conventional filtering inductor in series can be replaced by parasitic inductance naturally occurring between cables. Overall, the circuit is exceptionally small and compact by employing low-power components and omitting line transformers and inductors. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, the design issues of both the fault estimation (FE) and fault-tolerant control (FTC) are investigated for a class of piecewise-affine (PWA) systems against actuator fault. Firstly, a novel region-dependent intermediate variable observer is designed to estimate the system states and the actuator fault simultaneously. Secondly, based on the above estimated information, a class of output-feedback-based PWA FTC strategies is proposed. Furthermore, by using two region-dependent Lyapunov functions and the S-procedure with an ellipsoidal outer approximation estimation method, sufficient conditions are obtained such that the estimation error system is uniformly asymptotically bounded and the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable with a guaranteed H8 performance index, respectively. Finally, the effectiveness of proposed methods is demonstrated via an illustrative example. © 2023 IEEE.

Medium voltage DC (MVDC) systems have the potential to act as a key enabler for new offshore wind projects and have attracted increased attention, due to the significant advantages of less conversion stage and less power losses in MVDC collector. This paper performs cost benefit analysis (CBA) for OWFs connected with MVDC systems. Detailed configurations of a hypothetical OWFs are presented and the CBA results for the MVDC array topologies is provided and compared to that of conventional high-voltage AC (HVAC) solutions. It is demonstrated that MVDC systems are a promising technology for offshore wind energy transmission in the near future. © 2024 IEEE.

The receiving end system AC fault of the line-commutated-converter based high voltage direct current (LCC-HVDC) system will lead to commutation failure (CF) in inverter. During the fault and its recovery, AC transient low voltage and transient overvoltage (TOV) will occur in the sending end system. The TOV has the risk of triggering the disorderly off-grid of the nearby renewable power generations, and in a serious situation, it will threaten the power system can not maintain secure and steady operation. Therefore, this paper analyzes the mechanism involved of the AC transient voltage during the AC fault and the recovery period first. It reveals that the key factor causing the TOV of the sending end system is the setting of the DC current reference value. Then, a DC current reference value limit method based on the AC TOV sampling value is proposed, which is used to accelerate DC current recovery and suppress the TOV of sending end system. Finally, based on the CIGRE Benchmark test model, the transient voltage analysis results and the validity of the designed control method are demonstrated by electromagnetic transient simulation. © 2023 IEEE.

Recently,the Third Pole(TP)region has experienced rapid environmental *** data are essential for hydrometeorological and ecological applications but still have large uncertainties on the TP owing to the heterogeneous land surface,complex terrain,and sparse weather *** this study,a long-term(1979–2020)high-resolution(1/30°)meteorological forcing dataset for the TP(TPMFD)was developed,as a sister to the widely used China Meteorological Forcing Dataset(CMFD).The TPMFD comprises seven components necessary for driving land surface *** have previously contributed precipitation and downward shortwave radiation data for the TPMFD,and this study presents the development of five other components and focuses on validations for all ***,2-meter air temperature,2-meter specific humidity,10-meter wind speed,and surface air pressure were generated by combining the fifth-generation atmospheric reanalysis for European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ERA5),a short-term high-resolution atmospheric simulation,and in situ observations,and the downward longwave radiation was calculated using semi-physical *** cross-validation and independent-validation demonstrated that most variables in the developed dataset outperformed those in widely used reanalysis datasets,including ERA5,ERA5-Land,and the Global Land Data Assimilation system(GLDAS).This dataset is expected to be beneficial for climate analyses and modeling applications of land-surface processes on the TP.

Energy consumption involved in wireless transmission poses a major challenge in the implementation of wireless body area networks (WBAN). Compressed sensing (CS)-based multichannel electrocardiogram (ECG) compression is a new paradigm in signal acquisition and reconstruction;a viable alternative for traditional wavelet-based signal reconstruction. However, several challenges must be addressed to achieve efficient and reliable ECG compression in real-world wireless healthcare systems. This paper presents a comprehensive review focused on the evolution of compressed sensing-based energy-efficient single-channel (S-) and multi-channel (M-) ECG data compression techniques. It is observed that the performance of different compression techniques depends on several diagnostic or non-diagnostic test parameters. The present study could be useful for researchers to analyze the state-of-the-art compression techniques in e-healthcare applications. We discuss the challenges associated with implementing ECG compression in wireless healthcare systems, such as signal quality, interoperability, and privacy concerns. We also explore the potential future directions for research in this area, including the development of novel algorithms for compressed sensing-based ECG compression, the integration of artificial intelligence and deep learning techniques, and the exploration of new application areas for wireless healthcare systems.
