The GPU has been successfully used for diverse emerging compute-intensive applications, including imaging, computer vision, and more recently, deep learning, to name a few. To offer high performance for such applications, it is provisioned with massive Register Files (RFs) to exploit high Thread-Level Parallelism (TLP). As RFs are designed to store thousands of contexts and provide very high bandwidth for uninterrupted supply of operands to hundreds of compute units for high TLP, they have become one of the most power-hungry components in the GPU. Meanwhile, faced with the end of Dennard scaling, it is more important than ever to innovate the microarchitecture of (power-constrained) GPUs to continuously improve the performance of future compute-intensive *** this work, we propose a GPU microarchitecture, WarpedCompaction, designed to utilize given RFs more efficiently, instead of relying on larger-capacity and/or higher-bandwidth RFs to further improve GPU performance. Specifically, first, we reverse-engineer the latest GPU's RF organization through microbenchmarking. This uncovers that each sub-core within a streaming multiprocessor contains only two dual-ported RF banks, and accesses to these banks are arbitrated solely based on register IDs. We also reveal that, despite the modest configurations, RF banks are largely underutilized, staying inactive for 33.5% of the time. Second, we observe that previously proposed RF optimization techniques, data forwarding and dead register elimination, cannot address this underutilization problem. This is mainly due to the (R1) insufficient RF access requests from a limited number of Operand Collector Units (OCUs) and (R2) inefficient operand distribution by the conventional RF bank arbitration. Third, we present two architectural solutions to tackle the observed inefficiency: (S1) OCU sharing and (S2) skewed arbitrator. Deep reinforcement learning (DRL) has empowered numerous reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) aided millimeter-wave unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications. However, most existing works often employ single-Task DRL, that could only handle one specific environment (or task). This hurdles the large-scale adoption of DRL-based UAV-RIS networks, since the environment has infinite variations. In this paper, we aim to solve diverse UAV-RIS tasks with a minimum number of DRLs required. Specifically, we proposed a reward-driven clustering technique to autonomously cluster all 50 simulated tasks into 10 clusters. For each cluster, we train a multi-Task DRL using Federated Learning to handle all tasks in the cluster. Simulation shows that given 50 unique tasks, the proposed method could reduce the total agents required from 50 to 10, which is a 5-fold reduction. © 2023 IEEE.

Regular monitoring of the maintenance manhole system is imperative to uphold the city's health and cleanliness standards. Our study offers an intelligent manhole that monitors the manhole's condition, water level, and gases. We tested the status, gas, and water levels of our revolutionary, innovative manhole in several places. Our system's Blink app position tracking of our smart manhole is critical. This capability improves monitoring efficiency and speeds up issue resolution. Our work revolutionizes municipal utility maintenance and safety by optimizing manhole performance. Integrating a Node MCU, GPS module, gas sensor, ultrasonic sensor, and Android Blynk software creates a complete real-time monitoring and data-collecting system. Combining these technologies, our Manhole Monitoring system improves safety and streamlines maintenance, making municipal infrastructure more robust and efficient. This paper highlights the promising features of IoT and shows how it may be used to improve the smart manhole. In the future, this creative method may result in a more durable and better intelligent city. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an experimental analysis of a stepped-frequency continuous wave (SFCW) software-defined radar (SDR) system. The system utilizes a USRP N210 with WBX daughterboard, a standard gain horn antenna, a waveguide antenna, and a personal computer. Operating with a bandwidth of 560 MHz, a frequency step size of 20 MHz, and 28 steps, the system's performance is evaluated through range profile analysis. Experimental trials involve transmitting SFCW signals and collecting corresponding echoes for target responses at distances of 0.7 meters, 0.9 meters, and 1.25 meters. The analysis of the range profile reveals distinct target signatures, demonstrating the system's effectiveness for target detection at varying distances. © 2023 IEEE.

At present, colorectal cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers in the world. Colectomy serves as an effective treatment option for this disease. Preoperative localization plays a vital role in the colectomy procedure. However, traditional preoperative localization techniques have a greater risk of infection and lower accuracy. Moreover, it is difficult for the previous anchoring robots to adapt to the unstructured environment of the GI tract because of their limited movement abilities. To address these challenges, this work develops a robotic anchoring system with two locomotion modes which can anchor in the designated position. Driven by the external magnetic field, the robot can achieve slipping and flipping in the stomach. When the gradients of the field increase, the robot is triggered to deploy the anchoring mechanism in the intestine. Two in vitro experiments are conducted in the stomach and intestine phantoms. The first experiment demonstrates that the robot system can achieve both slipping and flipping in the stomach and its average position error is 2.96mm. The second experiment shows that the robot system can anchor in the designated position near the tumor and can resist a peristalsis force of 0.82N from the intestine wall. © 2024 IEEE.

Lung cancer is a leading cause of global mortality *** detection of pulmonary tumors can significantly enhance the survival rate of ***,various computer-Aided Diagnostic(CAD)methods have been developed to enhance the detection of pulmonary nodules with high ***,the existing method-ologies cannot obtain a high level of specificity and *** present study introduces a novel model for Lung Cancer Segmentation and Classification(LCSC),which incorporates two improved architectures,namely the improved U-Net architecture and the improved AlexNet *** LCSC model comprises two distinct *** first stage involves the utilization of an improved U-Net architecture to segment candidate nodules extracted from the lung ***,an improved AlexNet architecture is employed to classify lung *** the first stage,the proposed model demonstrates a dice accuracy of 0.855,a precision of 0.933,and a recall of 0.789 for the segmentation of candidate *** suggested improved AlexNet architecture attains 97.06%accuracy,a true positive rate of 96.36%,a true negative rate of 97.77%,a positive predictive value of 97.74%,and a negative predictive value of 96.41%for classifying pulmonary cancer as either benign or *** proposed LCSC model is tested and evaluated employing the publically available dataset furnished by the Lung Image Database Consortium and Image Database Resource Initiative(LIDC-IDRI).This proposed technique exhibits remarkable performance compared to the existing methods by using various evaluation parameters.

1 Introduction Reliability is defined as the probability that a system or component will perform its required function for a specified period of time under specified operating conditions(Ebeling,2019).Traditional reliability theory assumes that both a system and its components have only two possible states in the operation stage,either perfectly functioning or completely ***,as engineered systems become more sophisticated,involving larger sizes,increased functionality,and greater intelligence,and with advancements in sensing technologies,it has been extensively observed that systems and components exhibit multiple distinct states as they deteriorate over *** failure behavior,damage severity,performance capacity,and operational efficiency of the system and components vary among these states(Lisnianski et al.,2018).It,therefore,necessitates the development of advanced reliability theories and methodologies that are capable of characterizing these systems and components with multi-state nature.

Network management and multimedia data mining techniques have a great interest in analyzing and improving the network traffic *** recent times,the most complex task in Software Defined Network(SDN)is security,which is based on a centralized,programmable ***,monitoring network traffic is significant for identifying and revealing intrusion abnormalities in the SDN ***,this paper provides an extensive analysis and investigation of the NSL-KDD dataset using five different clustering algorithms:K-means,Farthest First,Canopy,Density-based algorithm,and Exception-maximization(EM),using the Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis(WEKA)software to compare extensively between these five ***,this paper presents an SDN-based intrusion detection system using a deep learning(DL)model with the KDD(Knowledge Discovery in Databases)***,the utilized dataset is clustered into normal and four major attack categories via the clustering ***,a deep learning method is projected for building an efficient SDN-based intrusion detection *** results provide a comprehensive analysis and a flawless reasonable study of different kinds of attacks incorporated in the KDD ***,the outcomes reveal that the proposed deep learning method provides efficient intrusion detection performance compared to existing *** example,the proposed method achieves a detection accuracy of 94.21%for the examined dataset.

This study simulates a n-i-p planar heterojunction for Na2SnBr6-based perovskite solar cells (PSCs), with Na2SnBr6 as the absorber layer, fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) as the substrate, and In2S3, IGZO, and SnS2 as electron transport layers (ETLs). Gold (Au) is used as the back contact. Na2SnBr6 was chosen for its low cost, non-toxicity, tunable band gap, excellent electrical properties, and stability. The SCAPS-1D simulator was employed to model the solar cell performance under AM 1.5 G light irradiation, focusing on factors like doping concentration, layer thickness, defect density, and interface defects across three device configurations: Device I (Au/Na2SnBr6/ In2S3/FTO/Al), Device II (Au/ Na2SnBr6/IGZO/FTO/Al), and Device III (Au/ Na2SnBr6/SnS2/FTO/Al). Device III achieved the highest PCE of 31.35%, FF of 85.95%, VOC of 0.7926 V, and JSC of 46.01 mA/cm22, making it a promising candidate for high-efficiency, lead-free perovskite solar cells. Devices I and II showed lower efficiencies of 27.47% and 30.98%, respectively. The study also analyzed quantum efficiency (QE), carrier dynamics, and recombination rates, highlighting the potential of Device III in advancing Na2SnBr6-based hybrid perovskite solar technologies for future solar energy applications. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group under the terms of the Optica Open Access Publishing Agreement.

This study addresses the challenge of sentiment analysis in Bengali Facebook comments, where users express their opinions on various topics. Existing sentiment analysis techniques have difficulty achieving high accuracy in this situation, which has inspired the creation of a fresh methodology. To improve sentiment analysis of Bengali Facebook comments, we suggest a model that combines a hybrid convolutional neural network (CNN) and a long short-term memory network (LSTM). Our research adds to the expanding area of sentiment analysis, especially for languages with few resources, such as Bengali. The success of the Hybrid CNN LSTM model opens the door for more precise and context-aware sentiment analysis on social media platforms, allowing for a better understanding of user sentiments and boosting user experiences. Our study focused on dividing comments into five groups according to their emotional content: troll, not bully, sexual, religious, and threat. We carefully generated the handmade dataset and ensured the quality and relevance of a dataset of 50,000 Bengali comments before using it to train and test our algorithm. The Hybrid CNN LSTM model outperforms conventional approaches and achieves an outstanding accuracy rate of 92.09%, demonstrating amazing efficiency in sentiment recognition. This dramatic increase in precision indicates that machine learning techniques are successful in sentiment analysis of Bengali Facebook comments. © 2024 IEEE.
