Millimeter-wave communications are suitable for application to massive multiple-input multiple-output systems in order to satisfy the ever-growing data traffic demands of the next-generation wireless communication. However, their practical deployment is hindered by the high cost of complex hardware, such as radio frequency (RF) chains. To this end, operation in the beamspace domain, through beam selection, is a viable solution. Generally, the conventional beam selection schemes focus on the feedback and exhaustive search techniques. In addition, since the same beam in the beamspace may be assigned to a different user, conventional beam selection schemes suffer serious multi-user interference. In addition, some RF chains may be wasted, since they do not contribute to the sum-rate performance. Thus, a fingerprint-based beam selection scheme is proposed to solve these problems. The proposed scheme conducts offline group-based fingerprint database construction and online beam selection to mitigate multi-user interference. In the offline phase, the contributing users with the same best beam are grouped. After grouping, a fingerprint database is created for each group. In the online phase, beam selection is performed for purposes of interference mitigation using the information contained in the group-based fingerprint database. The simulation results confirm that the proposed beam selection scheme can achieve a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio and sum-rate performance which is close to those of a fully digital system, and having much higher energy efficiency. © 2022 IEEE.

Millions of people across the globe were affected by this rapidly spreading disease by the year 2020. Contamination of the respiratory system results from contracting COVID-19. Nonetheless, establishing a conclusive diagnosis of COVID-19 may prove difficult due to the subtle differences it shares with conventional pneumonia and the complexities involved in identifying areas of infection. A growing number of approaches based on deep learning (DL) are being proposed for the automated detection of COVID-19 from CT scan images. By employing the data pretreatment methodology, unprocessed image data becomes prepared for further analysis. The proposed framework utilised transfer learning to construct VGGNet, which is capable of discerning the Covid-19 disease. The model was subsequently assessed in comparison to the most sophisticated models, VGG16 and VGG19, using the SARS-COV2 CT scan dataset. This dataset contains 1230 CT scans of non-infected images and 1252 CT scans of Covid-19-infected images. The model has achieved 99% accuracy, 98% precision, 97% recall, and 98% F1-score, among other performance metrics. © IFIP International Federation for Information Processing 2025.

Charities face a difficult funding environment, mainly because charities are not highly transparent. Day over day It became more difficult to know whether donations are reaching the right place, or taking another course, such as financing suspicious campaigns, terrorist projects, etc. As a result, donors lose faith in these organizations, leading to a halt to interactions with charitable organizations. This makes it more difficult for charities to raise money at a great cost. This research proposed a solution to the mentioned problem using Blockchain technology, a decentralized database that provides security, transparency, and lower funding cost by eliminating the presence of third parties between donors and charities. A new track donation model was proposed which introduced several new participants that control the process of donation and remove suspicion of the charity. All donations can be tracked in Blockchain, allowing donors to know where and how their money is being used. The proposed model was implemented using Hyperledger composer then it was tested to obtain a live full track of a donation process. All donations are made using smart contracts, which allow donors to know exactly when and how their donations will be received. The Blockchain track donation system results in time-saving, reducing the cost of donation, and reduces the risk of reaching suspicious campaign donations or terrorist projects. A website was created as a facilitator for users for ease of use of the proposed system. © 2021 IEEE.

The existing group public key encryption with equality test schemes could only support one-to-one data sharing and are not suitable for cloud-assisted autonomous transportation systems, which demand one-to-many data sharing. To tackle this problem efficiently, in this article, we put forward the group-attribute-based encryption with equality test (G-ABEET) scheme. The presented G-ABEET allows sensors equipped in vehicles to encrypt traffic data with an expressive access policy before sharing it. Only users with attributes required by the access policy ought to access the shared ciphertexts, thus achieving selective one-to-many data sharing. Meanwhile, the authorized cloud server could provide group users with equality tests over the ciphertexts, realizing ciphertext search ability. Furthermore, with the group mechanism, the G-ABEET scheme could resist offline message recovery attacks. Besides, in the standard model, we give rigorous security proof of the G-ABEET construction. The feasibility and efficiency of G-ABEET are demonstrated by experimental simulations. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

To mitigate cogging torque, a primary source of vibration and noise in the interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSM), the method of tapering to the rotor or stator is widely adopted. However, in the case of IPMSM applying a tapering model, the distance between the rotor-stator and coil-rotor varies. These variations have a significantly impact on the parasitic capacitance, the main factor in shaft voltage. Therefore, in this paper, the parasitic capacitance and the shaft voltage are analyzed when the tapering is applied to the rotor and stator. The electrostatic finite element analysis (FEA) is performed to obtain the parasitic capacitance of the tapering models. Then, the shaft voltage is verified by comparing the three prototypes (basic model, rotor tapering model, and stator tapering model) through the experiment.

The permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) are exposed to harmful bearing currents and shaft voltage which affect their lifetime. This study suggests a novel salient stator pole-shoe structure (SSPS) to suppress the shaft voltage and bearing current. The SSPS interferes with the effect of the electric field between the coil and the rotor, thereby reducing winding-to-rotor capacitance C wer , which is a major factor for the shaft voltage. The electrostatic finite element analysis (FEA) is performed to calculate the parasitic capacitance and compare the difference between the SSPS and the classical pole shoe model. To validate the effectiveness of the SSPS, the magnetic field transient FEA is performed comparing with classical model. Finally, the shaft voltage of two prototypes (SSPS and classical model) is verified by experiment.

The rapid identification of key nodes in large-scale social networks is important for the guidance and control of public opinion. The model proposes a key node identification method that considers user attributes, behavioural attributes, historical text attributes, user expertise and rationality values. Compared with methods that only consider user attributes, behavioral attributes and historical text attributes, this method can identify key nodes more quickly. Virtual memory, with the support of address translation hardware, is a key technique in expanding programmability and memory management in GPUs. However, the nature of the GPU execution model heavily pressures its translation hardware, particularly due to a discrepancy in the behavior of page table walkers and thousands of concurrently running threads. In GPU workloads, multiple threads simultaneously access a number of pages necessitating a substantial number of translations whereas each walker handles only a single walk request at a time. Such a limitation significantly increases the queueing latency of walk requests, which we observe as a major bottleneck for servicing page table walks in GPUs. To tackle this challenge, we investigate a design of page walkers that facilitates multiple walk requests to be handled together in batches. Then, we make the following observations: 1) allowing a page walker to issue beyond a single memory request significantly improves the throughput of walkers, and 2) GPU applications tend to concurrently access pages in wide address ranges. By leveraging the above implications, we propose Marching Page Walks (MPW) that effectively mitigate the contention in GPU page table walkers. MPW scans pending walk requests to identify ones that can be grouped together. Then, MPW batches these requests and concurrently handles them by issuing multiple memory instructions. Experiments show that MPW reduces the queueing latency of page walks by 86.7% and improves GPU performance by 55.6% over the baseline design.

Motivation DNA-based data storage is one of the most attractive research areas for future archival storage. However, it faces the problems of high writing and reading costs for practical use. There have been many efforts to resolve this problem, but existing schemes are not fully suitable for DNA-based data storage, and more cost reduction is *** We propose whole encoding and decoding procedures for DNA storage. The encoding procedure consists of a carefully designed single low-density parity-check code as an inter-oligo code, which corrects errors and dropouts efficiently. We apply new clustering and alignment methods that operate on variable-length reads to aid the decoding performance. We use edit distance and quality scores during the sequence analysis-aided decoding procedure, which can discard abnormal reads and utilize high-quality soft information. Millimeter wave frequencies are one of the promising technologies to support high data rates in 5G wireless communication systems, but short wavelengths due to high frequencies cause signal attenuation and path loss. To compensate for this problem, in this paper, we apply the hybrid beamforming technique and try to track the exact beam angle using the Unscented Kalman filter to obtain the complete beamforming gain. As a result of the simulation, it can be seen that the proposed algorithm exhibits good Mean Square Error (MSE) performance with a moderate level of implementation complexity. However, the computational complexity that arises when hybrid beamforming is applied still remains a problem to be solved. Therefore, in the course of future research, if a deep neural network is applied in terms of beamformer and combiner, it will be able to show a higher level of performance with a lower level of complexity. © 2023 IEEE.
