This paper deals with the problem of sampled-data gain-scheduling control design for affine quasi-LPV systems. As the control implementation is based on sample-data and its update occurs only at specific sampling instants, the state-dependent scheduling functions of the controller are piecewise continuous. This characteristic causes a mismatch between the system model and the controller parameters, namely asynchronous scheduling functions of the controller with respect to the plant during the inter-sampling behavior. To cope with this phenomenon, a polytopic description of the inter-sampling is constructed based on bounding assumptions on the scheduling functions and their time derivatives. Then, regarding a time-delay approach, a constructive and numerically implementable LMI-based synthesis condition is derived, and a convex procedure is proposed for enlarging the estimate of the region of attraction of the origin of the closed-loop system. The time-derivative bounds of the scheduling functions are explicitly accounted into the local analysis to ensure the method’s implementation. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the proposed methodology.

AI-dedicated hardware designs are growing dramatically for various AI applications. These designs often contain highly connected circuit structures, reflecting the complicated structure in neural networks, such as convolutional layers and fully-connected layers. As a result, such dense interconnections incur severe congestion problems in physical design that cannot be solved by conventional placement methods. This paper proposes a novel placement framework for CNN accelerator units, which extracts kernels from the circuit and insert kernel-based regions to guide placement and minimize routing congestion. Experimental results show that our framework effectively reduces global routing congestion without wirelength degradation, significantly outperforming leading commercial tools.

The existence of fine-grained image classification supporting smart retail provides effectiveness in recognizing products with high similarity. However, the generic classification method performs poorly in identifying products from a subordinate category. This paper aims to identify augmentation techniques to leverage the Vision Transformer (ViT) model to classify the fine-grained grocery product, which involves embedding patches and transformer encoders to extract the main features. First, we develop a fine-grained image dataset with ColorJitter, CutOut, and combining both augmentations. Secondly, we perform experiments and analysis of ViT size, embedded patch size and image size in the patch embedding process. Lastly, the ViT model are evaluated according to the image sizes 224, 384, and 512 in accuracy, loss, and confusion matrix. The highest accuracy was obtained at 0.9922. The ColorJitter and CutOut improved the confusion matrix in ViT-B/16 and ViT-L/16 with an image size of 384 and 512. The results show that both augmentations in the ViT model are able to distinguish fine-grained grocery products.

The classical memory device with cryogenic operation is in high demanded for quantum information processing. The cryogenic endurance of anti-ferroelectric (AFE) and ferroelectric (FE) $\text{Hf}_{1-\mathrm{x}}\text{Zr}_{\mathrm{x}}\mathrm{O}_{2}$ capacitors is investigated for $\sim 10^{10}$ cycles (80 K). Moreover, the AFE capacitor exhibits a high speed response with ~ 80% normalized switching $2\mathrm{P}_{\mathrm{r},\text{sw}}$ for $\mathrm{t}_{\mathrm{p}}= 1\ \mu\mathrm{s}$ compared to ~ 60% for the FE capacitor at 80 K.

Wireless capsule endoscopes capture and transmit images of the human digestive system for use in medical diagnostics. The placement of the capsule makes it possible to pinpoint the illnesses. In this work, we propose an ultra-miniaturized antenna that can operate in the 2.4 GHz industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) band for integration with a capsule. Minia-turization is achieved using the meander resonator technique, high permittivity substrate, and superstrate. The antenna is designed using Rogers RT/duroid 6010 substrate with a footprint of 2.8 × 2.8 × 0.5 mm 3 . A basic mathematical equation calculates the meander resonator's initial length for the required frequency. To the best of our knowledge, the proposed design provides the best performance, the smallest footprint, and a maximum peak gain of -28.6 dBi. Along with the antenna design, a 3D-printed capsule with dummy circuitry is used. The antenna's simulated bandwidth is 210 MHz. Good impedance matching is maintained along the whole digestive tract. The data is analyzed using stomach, small intestine, and colon models. With a link margin of 20 dB, the suggested antenna can send data at a speed of 1 Mbps across a two-meter distance in the whole digestive tract. To the best of our knowledge, this is the smallest endoscopic antenna listed for 2.45 GHz ISM bands in the literature. Based on the acquired results, the proposed design is a good candidate for the target medical applications.

We provide a less conservative approach for the stability analysis of Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy systems via multiple Lyapunov function with an integral of the membership function. In many papers, fuzzy Lyapunov function and the stability of fuzzy systems have been discussed. Since they assumed the upper/lower bounds of the derivative of the membership function derived from fuzzy Lyapunov function, they basically give local stability conditions. In this paper, we employ a Lyapunov function constructed with an integral of the membership function, from which less conservative stability conditions have been obtained in the literature. Furthermore, by combining linear fractional transformation (LFT) method and S-procedure method, we obtain a global asymptotic stability condition of fuzzy systems. Finally, an example is shown to confirm the advantage of the proposed method.

As bullying rapidly spreads in schools, many parents are becoming increasingly concerned about their children being subjected to bullying by peers, which could negatively impact their physical and mental health. This paper proposes an abusive language detection system that combines Mel-frequency Cepstrum Coefficients (MFCC) speech features with a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). Audio files which contain daily abusive phrases in the Minnan dialect are initially preprocesses to eliminate non-speech interference. Subsequently, the MFCC algorithm is applied to extract speech features that closely capture auditory characteristics. The CNN classification model is trained to learn the MFCC features and classify the phrases into their respective categories. Experimental results indicate that the CNN model achieves an average recognition accuracy of 91.9%. Finally, the CNN model was deployed on an embedded platform, where it achieves an average recognition time of 0.54 seconds per phrase and an average recognition accuracy of 86.25%.
