This paper proposes a technique for indoor localization based on a visible light positioning approach. The strategy relies on using lighting luminaires that modulate the luminous flux at different frequencies. A light sensor is then used to gather the illuminance signal used as input for a previously trained Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to estimate the position of the sensor. The work's main contribution is using an illuminance estimator based on the lighting distribution of the luminaires to perform the training procedure of the ANN. The lighting distribution is obtained through *** file provided by the manufacturer, i.e., the same file used for lighting designs. Therefore, by using characteristics of the environment and *** file, the proposed system can provide data to train accurately the ANN used in the positioning method. The results attested to the satisfactory performance of the proposed localization technique as it produced mean distance errors of 1.51cm and 0.79cm considering 0% and 70% walls' reflectance levels, respectively. © 2022 IEEE.

Biometrics based on electromyogram (EMG) and inertial measurement unit (IMU) signals has received significant attention due to its resistance to forgery and tampering, as well as its relatively higher convenience and security compared to other biometric modalities. However, most EMG and IMU signal-based authentication methods require explicit authentication using unnatural gestures, which is not userfriendly. To address this, we collected EMG and IMU data during virtual reality (VR) rhythm game play, which does not require explicit gestures, and performed implicit authentication. Using a linear discriminant analysis (LDA) classifier, we achieved classification accuracies of 91.71% for human identification and 87.91% for human authentication. The result demonstrated the feasibility of a seamless and implicit authentication in VR environments. © 2024 IEEE.

Circular dichroism(CD)spectroscopy has been widely demonstrated for detecting chiral ***,the determination of chiral mixtures with various concentrations and enantiomeric ratios can be a challenging *** solve this problem,we report an enhanced vibrational circular dichroism(VCD)sensing platform based on plasmonic chiral metamaterials,which presents a 6-magnitude signal enhancement with a selectivity of chiral *** by coupled-mode theory,we leverage both in-plane and out-of-plane symmetry-breaking structures for chiral metamaterial design enabled by a two-step lithography process,which increases the near-field coupling strengths and varies the ratio between absorption and radiation loss,resulting in improved chiral light-matter interaction and enhanced molecular VCD ***,we demonstrate the thin-film sensing process of BSA andβ-lactoglobulin proteins,which contain secondary structures a-helix andβ-sheet and achieve a limit of detection down to zeptomole ***,we also,for the first time,explore the potential of enhanced VCD spectroscopy by demonstrating a selective sensing process of chiral mixtures,where the mixing ratio can be successfully differentiated with our proposed chiral *** findings improve the sensing signal of molecules and expand the extractable information,paving the way toward label-free,compact,small-volume chiral molecule detection for stereochemical and clinical diagnosisapplications.

Solar-powered dryers are still expensive and difficult to obtain for farmers with medium to low production capacity. For this reason, it is necessary to develop technology on a solar-powered dryer with a solar panel capacity of 200WP is equipped with a maximum power point tracker as an integrated solar collector with a photovoltaic system. The system in this solar-powered dryer consists of a solar panel tracker, a rotating aluminum cylinder net, a photovoltaic tracker, a battery bank, a microcontroller, and a DC/AC inverter. This system improves the performance of solar panels in the drying process of Moringa leaves. This design is expect to be the right system to ensure maximum results by providing solar radiation energy in the drying process of agricultural products. The aims goal to minimize problems in the drying of agricultural products experienced by farmers using an automatic dual-energy solar-powered dryer as a development innovation for the drying process. This study uses an experimental methodology and field data collection using a solar-powered dryer that has been analyzed and measured to obtain data comparisons. shows the maximum data of voltage and power response in positioning photovoltaic to produce the increased output power of photovoltaic array. Maximum application of powerpoint tracker on microcontroller based dual energy solar powered dryer on solar panels for drying moringa leaves produces the advantage of maximum energy absorption in solar panels and shortens the time in the drying process of moringa leaves. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The rapid population growth and industrial development in developing countries harm the agricultural sector because many agricultural lands are converted into residential or industrial areas. Applying modern agriculture technologies such as hydroponic could help to overcome the problem. However, hydroponics requires special attention in adjusting the pH and nutrient levels to maximize plant growth, so an automated system is needed to manage the process. In this research, a smart hydroponic system is proposed by applying Adaptive Networkbased Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and Internet-of-Things. The IoT system consists of sensor, actuator, and data processing layer is designed to monitor and control the condition of pH and nutrition of the observed plants. Then, the ANFIS algorithm is designed to control the level of pH and nutrition. The experiment results show that the system can automatically adjust the pH and nutrient levels to the expected range for growing plants, and the fuzzy controller made using ANFIS are more accurate and stable than the fuzzy controller made using Sugeno. This study shows that ANFIS has excellent performance when controlling multiple actuators, as long as the data set has great granularity and well defined. © 2022 IEEE.

A Physically Unclonable Function (PUF) circuit is purposefully engineered to leverage the inherent variations in manufacturing processes to generate distinct identities. However, the efficacy of PUFs can be compromised due to the influence of external factors such as noise and environmental variations, which can lead to instability of identities. In this paper, a novel post-processing stabilization technique is introduced, utilizing a mismatch recombination algorithm and resulting in a 31× reduction of the Bit Error Rate (BER) to 0.19%. Through the application of this stabilization technique in conjunction with a modified self-compared Ring Oscillator (RO) architecture, the proposed PUF achieves a uniqueness of 49.96%. Moreover, the proposed PUF exhibits substantial resilience against temperature variations, maintaining a BER of under 2% across the temperature range from 0°C to 45°C. The proposed PUF was implemented and verified on a Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA.

A 14.7-20-Gb/s reference-less baud-rate clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit with a one-tap decision feedback equalizer is presented. The asymmetrical phase characteristic of the modified Mueller-Muller phase detector (MMPD) is analyzed and utilized for frequency acquisition. The frequency capture range can cover the entire frequency range of the voltage-controlled oscillator. The number of high-speed comparators in the modified MMPD is reduced by using the time-interpolated latch. This quarter-rate CDR circuit is fabricated in 40-nm CMOS technology and its active area is 0.1219 $\text{mm}^{2}$ . For a 20 Gb/s PRBS of $2^{7}-1$ , the power is 53.4mW and its energy efficiency is 2.66pJ/b.

A 48-Gb/s quarter-rate four-level pulse amplitude modulation receiver with a one-tap speculative decision-feedback equalizer and a baud-rate clock and data recovery circuit is presented. By using the time-based technique, 8 comparators and 4 time-based latches are used. The offset voltages of these comparators and the time-based latches are calibrated in the foreground. This chip is fabricated in a 40-nm CMOS process and the active area is 0.1232mm 2 . The power consumption is 85.08mW and the calculated energy efficiency is 1.77pJ/b.

A 20Gb/s baud-rate clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit with a one-tap speculative decision-feedback equalizer (DFE) is presented. To widen the timing region of the clock, a foreground calibration circuit is presented to calibrate the threshold voltage of the comparator. It enhances the jitter tolerance (JTOL). This CDR circuit is fabricated in 40-nm CMOS technology and its active area is 0.103mm 2 . The total power is 47.6mW and the calculated power efficiency is 2.38pJ/b at 20Gb/s. The measured high-frequency JTOL is larger than 0.2UI PP and the settling time of this calibration circuit is less than 12.7μs..

This paper presents a 4th-order CTDSM with PVT-insensitive inverter-based OTAs. In order to make CTDSM adapted for technology migration, the inverter-based OTA is used in the loop filter, which is easier to scale with better linearity. An LDO that can automatically adjust the supply voltage is proposed to solve the PVT variation. With the replica inverter unit, the trip point of the inverter can be tracked. Therefore, the inverter-based OTA can have stable small-signal performance; eventually, the CTDSM has more than 70 dB over PVT. The prototype CTDSM has been fabricated in 28-nm CMOS technology. It achieves 72.22-dB SNR and 71.92-dB SNDR over the bandwidth of 1 MHz and consumes 0.4mW at a 0.7V supply.
