Artificial intelligence-based applications such as artificial neural networks (ANN) and adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) are accepted as trustworthy methods that are extensively used by many researchers to predict different properties in the concrete and cement technology. That’s why, prediction models with various properties using two ANN and two ANFIS to predict the cement mortars' compressive strength were developed. In the training and testing of the models, compressive strength results at age of 2, 7, 28 and 90-days of 7 various mortars containing Portland cement and pumice and/or diatomite were utilized. Next, compressive strength of experimental results and ANN and ANFIS predictions were compared through statistical methods such as R2, RMS, and MAPE preferred in the literature. In addition, each test result was examined one by one and the differences and % changes between the estimated compressive strengths and the actual values were determined in order to see the errors more clearly. According to the tests results obtained, R2, RMS and MAPE were found as 0.9999, 0.1295, and 0.0024 for ANN-1, 0.9999, 0.1077, and 0.0025 for ANN-2, 0.9723, 2.3271, and 0.0607 for ANFIS-1, 0.9889, 0.1477, and 0.0360 for ANFIS-2, respectively. According to the data obtained, it has been seen that these models can make very good predictions. For this reason, it can be said that these cement mortars' compressive strength can be estimated with a very small error and in a short time with both ANN and ANFIS models. © 2023, The Authors. Technological advancements are increasingly evident across various sectors, including automobiles, industry, and healthcare. In precision agriculture, significant progress has been made, with AgroTICs and Smart Agriculture gaining substantial traction in the market. However, a gap remains between cutting-edge technology and family farming, presenting a challenge from both social and applied research perspectives. However, there is still a gap between cutting-edge technology and family farming, which creates a challenge from a social and applied research point of view. In this context, this paper proposes a monitoring model based on Fuzzy Logic and sensor automation applied to estimate the health of a corn crop. The proposed Fuzzy inference system involves calculating an indicator of nutrients as well as the average color and area of corn plants. The nutrient indicator is automatically computed by an ESP32 microcontroller using sensor readings, while the average color and area inputs are manually entered via a mobile application. Additionally, the Fuzzy inference is integrated into the ESP32. The model underwent experimental validation on the health of the plantation, and the results were evaluated in four areas: one was designated for testing, and three were for validation. The model achieved an accuracy of 97.5% in Scenario 3, categorized as ’Very Favorable’, and an accuracy of 65% in Scenarios 2 and 4, categorized as ‘Unfavorable’. The implications of this research contribute to the advancement of AgroTICs among small producers, with the potential to enhance and automate the monitoring of their harvest production.

This study presents a broadband and compact antipodal Vivaldi antenna design and production having an improved gain characteristic with the addition of a dielectric lens made of PLA. The proposed antenna has measured VSWR of less than 2.1 through the broadband frequency of 3.3-43.5 GHz and has more than 6.5 dBi measured gain above 8.5 GHz (up to 43.5 GHz). The antenna, which can fit in a cube with just 4.8 cm edge, has low-cost and easy manufacturing. It can meet the need of multiple antennas due to its broad frequency range (from S-band to Ka-band), which covers different applications such as wideband nondestructive material characterization and testing. Since the proposed antenna covers sub-6 GHz (3.3 GHz, 5.8 GHz) and mmWave (26, 38, 41 GHz) 5G frequencies, it can be also used in base stations with MIMO or array configuration.

Push notifications efficiently deliver real-time messages, boosting user engagement and website traffic. However, users often passively receive notifications without active interaction in recommendation contexts. Consequently, for precise recommendations, Click-Through Rate (CTR) prediction for push notifications requires addressing challenges such as user temporal and contextual preferences, the dynamic nature of user click behavior, and limited interactions between users and items. We propose Push4Rec, a novel push notification recommendation model designed explicitly for news articles. Push4Rec integrates pivotal learners to extract information adeptly. It assesses click behavior, captures preferences, and comprehends trends’ influence. A fusion function and gating network ensure versatile extraction of user click preferences. We assessed Push4Rec using a real-world push notification dataset from our partnering company. Push4Rec outperformed benchmark models, delivering state-of-the-art results across all evaluation metrics. Thus, we believe that Push4Rec, with its novel approach, sets a new standard in push notification services, driving forward the field of personalized recommendation systems.

Task oriented chatbots are a sub-topic related to chatbots, where chatbots will perform certain tasks with specific goals. One part of creating a task-oriented chatbot is doing intent classification. Intent classification is a task of text classification. As in general text classification, the required dataset requires a label to carry out the classification process. To speed up and help the utterance analysis process, there is already a method, namely clustering, and Density-based clustering is a part of clustering that can determine cluster patterns based on arbitrary data, with DBScan as one of its algorithms. This research used 10000 client utterance data of awhatsapp based e-commerce conversation. SentenceBert also used as a state of art sentence embedding. This research yield silhouette score of 0.327 as the best result from eps of 0.1 and MinPts of 95. However, based on the cluster result, sentences labelled as noise can be further clustered. Text Preprocessing, text augmentation and sentence embedding techniques can be explored to increase the cluster performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Revisiting Near-Far Field Boundary in Dual-Polarized XL-MIMO Systems

Extremely large-scale multiple-input multiple-output (XL-MIMO) is expected to be an important technology in future sixth generation (6G) networks. Compared with conventional single-polarized XL-MIMO, where signals are transmitted and received in only one polarization direction, dual-polarized XL-MIMO systems achieve higher data rate by improving multiplexing performances, and thus are the focus of this paper. Due to enlarged aperture, near-field regions become non-negligible in XL-MIMO communications, necessitating accurate near-far field boundary characterizations. However, existing boundaries developed for single-polarized systems only consider phase or power differences across array elements while irrespective of cross-polarization discrimination (XPD) variances in dual-polarized XL-MIMO systems, deteriorating transmit covariance optimization performances. In this paper, we revisit near-far field boundaries for dual-polarized XL-MIMO systems by taking XPD differences into account, which faces the following challenge. Unlike existing near-far field boundaries, which only need to consider co-polarized channel components, deriving boundaries for dual-polarized XL-MIMO systems requires modeling joint effects of co-polarized and cross-polarized components. To address this issue, we model XPD variations across antennas and introduce a non-uniform XPD distance to complement existing near-far field boundaries. Based on the new distance criterion, we propose an efficient scheme to optimize transmit covariance. Numerical results validate our analysis and demonstrate the proposed algorithm's effectiveness. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

The paper presents a wideband 8×8-element slot antenna array operating in the E-band. The proposed design employs a low-loss coaxial waveguide transmission line filled with air implemented using multilayer waveguide (MLW) technology by vertically stacking thin, unconnected metal plates to meet the typical radiation pattern and bandwidth requirements of a slot antenna array. Advanced battery management systems (ABMSs) rely on mathematical models to ensure high battery safety and performance. One of the key tasks of a BMS is state estimation. In the following, we consider a single lithium-ion cell described with a dual polarization equivalent circuit model. To consider a realistic scenario, where the parameters have been identified from experimentally collected data, both parametric and measurement uncertainties are taken into account in the model. In particular, unknown but bounded uncertainties are assumed. In this setup, we address state estimation through a set-based approach using Constrained Zonotopes (CZ). Due to the model nonlinearities, a method able to propagate CZ through nonlinear mappings is demanded. Within this context, mean value and first-order Taylor CZ-based extensions were proposed which, however, might lead to conservative overestimation due to the sensitivity to the wrapping and dependency effects inherited from interval arithmetic. In the following, we suggest the use of DC programming as an alternative. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is demonstrated in simulation for the considered Li-ion model.

Reliable operation is essential for any power electronic system. Nevertheless, power electronic systems include a large number of fragile elements. Among these elements, the semiconductor devices are the most likely to fail. Recent reliability evaluation tools employ a cycle counting algorithm to compute the degradation in semiconductor devices, where the rainflow algorithm is the most popular. However, since the rainflow was first created for fatigue analysis, this algorithm presents some issues when applied for semiconductor devices. Indeed, the rainflow is unable to compute the effective heating time and time-dependent equivalent mean temperature of each thermal cycle. Besides, half-cycles are counted by conventional rainflow. However, apart from the half-cycles at the end of the data, these half-cycles should not be taken into consideration in the life consumption computation. Therefore, this work proposes a modified rainflow for the lifetime estimation of semiconductor devices. This methodology adapts the conventional rainflow to filter half-cycles and compute the effective heating time and the equivalent mean temperature. The impact of the methodology on lifetime estimation is verified in a modular multilevel converter. Besides, analyses with two distinct mission profiles are performed to evaluate the modified impact on lifetime estimation. The results demonstrated that the modified rainflow significantly affects the lifetime computation of all critical joints of an insulatedgate bipolar transistor (IGBT) module for both case studies considered. © 2023 IEEE.
