This paper proposes an analytical target modifi-cation for linear robust model predictive control strategies in order to deal with time-varying references defined by dynamic signal targets. The new approach can be directly integrated to linear robust model predictive control algorithms that achieve piecewise constant reference tracking if recursive feasibility is ensured for any set-point. The main contribution is to present a direct analytical approach that provides a potentially improved steady-state tracking error performance with the same computation complexity of the original MPC for tracking piecewise constant reference. A simulation case study based on the trajectory tracking control of a quadrotor is used to illustrate the usefulness of the new analytical target modification layer.

Mobile location-based services(MLBS)refer to services around geographic location *** terminals use wireless communication networks(or satellite positioning systems)to obtain users’geographic location coordinate information based on spatial databases and integrate with other information to provide users with required location-related *** development of systems based on MLBS has significance and practical *** this paper a visualization management information system for personnel in major events based on microservices,namely MEPMIS,is designed and implemented by using *** system consists of a server and a client app,and it has some functions including map search and query,personnel positioning and scheduling,location management,messaging,and location *** of the events can quickly search and locate the staff on the specific area of the map in real-time,and make broadcasting messages to the staff,and manage the *** client app is developed on the Android system,by which staff users can send the positions information to the server *** client users can search fuzzily near their peers and list their locations,and also call near peers through sending messages or query the history record of staff *** the design of the system,several new proposed techniques,including visual annotation method for overlapping locations,correcting trajectory drift algorithm,microservices-based overall system architecture methodology and other new techniques,which are applied to the implementation of the ***,HTML5,JQuery,MLBS APIs(Application program Interfaces)related programming techniques have been used and combined with loading Ajax asynchronously and Json data encapsulation,map marker optimization techniques,that can improve the positioning accuracy and the performance of the *** developed system with practical functions can enhance the efficiencies of the organization and management of major events.

The PyBlocks Simulator is an open-source tool designed for Visible Light Communication (VLC) systems using a block diagram paradigm. It promotes modularity and reusability by representing system components as blocks implemented in Python. PyBlocks can simultaneously simulate multiple domains, making it suitable for complex systems that require analyzing combined effects across electrical and optical layers. This study validates PyBlocks by comparing its simulated results with experimental data from a real VLC system. The open-source nature of PyBlocks fosters collaboration and continuous improvement, providing a valuable resource for researchers and professionals in the field.

This article aims to explain the use of the intelligent technique known as Arithmetic Optimization Algorithm for generating synthetic series for hydroelectric plants which belong to the Brazilian interconnected system. Thus, the metaheuristic is responsible for determining the best coefficients as well as the optimal order for each month which may represent historical data based on an optimization problem whose objective function is to minimize the standard deviation of errors between the real and estimated water inflow values. Finally, with the optimal coefficients and order, the next step is to generate synthetic flow series considering a period of five years ahead, guaranteeing forecasts of inflow energy which are coherent with the historical data. The simulations were carried out considering Itaipu, Belo Monte, Tucuruí and Comp PAF-MOX hydroelectric plants whose results show the applicability of the Arithmetic Optimization Algorithm for generating flow scenarios allowing a convincing energy planning.

This article proposes a methodology for analyzing and designing Andronov-Hopf (AH) dispatchable virtual oscillators (dVOC) Grid-Forming (GFM) control methods. With the proposed methodology, four existing dVOC methods are reassessed and new insights on their structures are provided. Furthermore, a unified parameterization procedure is developed so that the inverter's steady-state behavior follows a prescribed droop behavior. Controller-Hardware-in-Loop results show that when applying the proposed parameterization with the same droop objectives, the analyzed dVOC methods presented, on one hand, similar dynamic behavior responses and the other hand, different steady-state droop behaviors. The proposed methodology may also be used to design AH dVOC GFM control methods, where main design criteria is the specification of output droop behavior of the grid-forming inverter.

This work presents the development of an analytical technique for the synthesis of non-uniform phase distribution for a cylindrical aperture with a cosecant-squared radiation pattern. Analytical results for the phase distributions are presented. Using the Aperture Method, the radiation patterns for these distributions are computationally calculated.

Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are intricate mathematical models, drawing inspiration from the biological nervous system, and offering intelligence alongside nonparametric capabilities. The efficacy of ANNs heavily relies on their learning process. Heuristic search algorithms have been proposed in literature as reliable options for optimizing neural networks utilizing the Perceptron architecture. This paper presents an suboptimal neural network Perceptron training method employing the Whale Optimization Algorithm for the application of farming watering mobile robots. To achieve this, a fitness function based on system responses such as overshoot, settling Time, and steady-state Error was developed. The sub-optimal Perceptron controller was then implemented using MATLAB, CoppeliaSim software and the EVA robot, resulting in a 66.17% overshoot, a 4.7% steady-state error, and a settling time of 3.05 seconds. Moreover, the sub-optimal Perceptron controller was mapped onto a System on Chip FPGA AMD-Xilinx Zynq 7020, resulting in a hardware resources consumption of 1,870 (3.52%) Lookup table, 2 (0.9%) Digital Signal Processing blocks, 1,019 (0.96%) Flip-Flops and a power consumtion of 0.005 W. Finally, Hardware-in-the-Loop validation was performed using CoppeliaSim, Python, Universal Direct Memory Access, and the EVA robot. The results showed an overshoot of 94.83%, a settling time of 2 seconds, and a steady-state error of 4.5%.

Timing analysis and optimization is essential for each stage throughout the entire design flow to achieve timing closure. This talk provides a retrospective and prospective study to highlight two categories of emerging timing challenges: 1) analysis efficiency and scalability, and 2) advanced process effect on timing. We survey recent advances for handling these challenges and provide future research directions in timing.

The mutual information is bounded from above by a decreasing affine function of the square of the distance between the input distribution and the set of all capacity-achieving input distributions ΠA, on small enough neighborhoods of ΠA, using an identity due to Topsoe and the Pinsker's inequality, assuming that the input set of the channel is finite and the constraint set A is polyhedral, i.e., can be described by (possibly multiple but) finitely many linear constraints. Counterexamples demonstrating nonexistence of such a quadratic bound are provided for the case of infinitely many linear constraints and the case of infinite input sets. Using Taylor's theorem with the remainder term, rather than the Pinsker's inequality and invoking Moreau's decomposition theorem the exact characterization of the slowest decrease of the mutual information with the distance to ΠA is determined on small neighborhoods of ΠA. Corresponding results for classical-quantum channels are established under separable output Hilbert space assumption for the quadratic bound and under finite-dimensional output Hilbert space assumption for the exact characterization. Implications of these observations for the channel coding problem and applications of the proof techniques to related problems are discussed. © 1963-2012 IEEE.
