Wireless transmission is vulnerable to malicious jamming attacks due to the openness of wireless channels, posing a severe threat to wireless communications. Current anti-jamming studies primarily focus on either enhancing desired signals or mitigating jamming, resulting in limited performance. To address this issue, intelligent omni-surface (IOS) is a promising solution. By jointly designing its reflective and refractive properties, the IOS can simultaneously nullify jamming and enhance desired signals. In this paper, we consider an IOS-aided multi-user anti-jamming communication system, aiming to improve desired signals and nullify jamming by optimizing IOS phase shifts and transmit beamforming. However, this is challenging due to the coupled and discrete IOS reflection and refraction phase shifts, the unknown jammer’s beamformer, and imperfect jammer-related channel state information. To tackle this, we relax IOS phase shifts to continuous states and optimize with a coupling-aware algorithm using the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality and S-procedure, followed by a local search to recover discrete states. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme significantly improves the sum rate amid jamming attacks. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The article introduces a two-dimensional polynomial regression model for the predictive analysis of glucose concentration in a fractal microwave sensor NP model, utilizing frequency and transmission coefficient differences to examine their correlation with glucose concentration levels. The sensor employed in this investigation is fabricated on an economical FR-4 substrate to minimize costs. The sensor structure is developed with the fractal structure reduction method established by the NP model to operate at a frequency of roughly 2.97 GHz. The CST Studio software is utilized to analyze the findings from the simulation of the suggested sensor structure. Furthermore, the proposed sensor is integrated into a test apparatus comprising a sensor platform and a liquid tube constructed from PPA material. The liquid under examination is a glucose and water mixture at varying concentrations. It was analyzed using a VNA instrument to evaluate its frequency response and the magnitude of the alteration in the transmission coefficient. The values are utilized to create a two-dimensional polynomial regression model. The experiments demonstrated that the proposed sensor model possesses an Adjusted R² value of 0.99499 and an average error of approximately 3.57% for glucose concentration analysis throughout the range of 5% to 30%, with sensitivities of 0.00879 dB/% for insertion loss and 0.092 MHz/% for frequency variation, facilitating accurate glucose concentration prediction analysis.

This work presents a 5-GHz frequency-modulated continuous wave signal generator (FMCW). The presented circuit aims to generate a wider frequency modulation bandwidth at low center frequency that grants significant advantage at saving power. Utilizing a fractional- N phase-locked loop (PLL)-based synthesizer with a 50-MHz reference frequency as the FMCW generator, the synthesizer modulates the carrier frequency across a range of 700 MHz. A Type-3 architecture with a switchable polarity is embedded to improve the linearity around the chirp turning-around points (TAPs) and switching-band points (SBPs). Switching Band Control (SBC) circuit and Multi-varactor LC Voltage Control Oscillator (MV-VCO) are proposed as an efficient method to increase the modulation range so that the FMCW signal generator can achieve 21.43-cm resolution in distance detecting. Fabricated in a TSMC 40-nm 1P10M CMOS technology, the proposed generator consumes 3.3 mW power and occupies 0.497mm 2 die area. The measured root-mean-square (rms) frequency error of the generated triangle chirp over 1.15ms period is 625kHz.

To understand the factors influencing medical robot use, this study developed a conceptual model and hypothesized that personal innovativeness in IT, perceived usefulness of IT and perceived ease of use of IT positively affect attitude toward medical robots, which in turn facilitates medical robot intention and medical robot use. By analyzing data from 276 surveys from Taiwan’s respondents who have employed medical robots, we demonstrate a positive effect of personal innovativeness in IT, perceived usefulness of IT and perceived ease of use of IT on attitude toward medical robots. In addition, attitude toward medical robots has a positive effect on medical robot intention and medical robot use. The main implications of study for medical robots firms are to conduct business activities to stress perceived usefulness of IT and perceived ease of use of IT, they can use Ads to describe the functions and advantages to draw user’ attitude toward medical robots. © 2020, Springer Nature B.V.

We quantitatively demonstrate that suspended WSe2 monolayer exhibited remarkably higher percentage of excitonic emission against contacted WSe2 at low-pumping region, where Shockley-Read-Hall recombination dominates, highlighting its potential for developing compact, high-efficiency quantum emitters in the future. © Optica Publishing Group 2024

This paper presents a realistic power transformer condition assessment and Health Index (HI) determination technique. The real-time operating data of twenty-seven power transformers of Bhutan Power Corporation Limited in transmission substations are used for condition evaluation. The diagnostic test data are combined into nine diagnostic groups for condition assessment. The conventional method of scoring and weighting average and the fuzzy logic methods are adopted for the condition assessment of power transformers. The excel program was developed for the conventional method for seamless evaluation. All the parameters harmonies the estimation and classification of the transformer operating condition. Then, this paper proposed new procedures for validating the conventional system of HI determination by the fuzzy logic method. © 2022 IEEE.

In high-voltage underground cable systems, current carrying capacity and power losses vary according to the screen bonding type, the phase sequence, the distance between the cables, and the number of parallel systems. In this study, electrical and thermal analyses of a system consisting of two parallel cables were carried out according to different design parameters, and the performances were evaluated. Trefoil and flat layouts were used in the analyzed systems. In addition, the structure of the single-side and solidly bonded systems was also examined. While carrying out the investigations, the variation of the distance between the cables according to three different parameters was also discussed. In total, 56 different scenarios were created, and the systems' performances were examined. Screen currents, screen voltages, cable temperatures, and power losses were considered while conducting the investigations. In this context, coupled electrical and thermal calculations were performed in the Ansys electronics Suite finite element software. Additionally, the study utilized the CymCap program to verify the finite element model created, with analytical analyses conducted in accordance with IEC 60287 standards. The significance of these calculations cannot be overstated, as the analysis results demonstrate the direct impact of various design parameters on the system's overall performance. © 2023, The Authors. This paper investigates the use of dual quaternions for controlling a leader-follower configuration of small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The paper focuses on how the parameters of a non-linear kinematic control algorithm can be chosen to achieve a prescribed behavior. The paper provides theoretical support, refines existing methods, and validates results through experiments. The findings contribute to the understanding and optimization of dual quaternion-based control strategies for small UAVs formations.
