This paper addresses two issues. First, in the context of factory automation, a low-cost fault-tolerant sensor system is proposed along with its FPGA-based voter. Second, the voter itself is designed to recover from failures affecting its own circuitry. The sensor system consists of one high-quality sensor used for measurement along with two functionally identical, but lower cost sensors used for monitoring purposes. A biased voter circuit is designed and implemented on the same Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) used to house the controller. It is shown that the voter can detect and recover from Single Event Upsets (SEUs) which often occur in the harsh factory environments. Both FPGA configuration and user bits are protected. It was shown that the proposed design requires less resources and power than some other designs presented in the literature. Focusing next on recovering from SEUs in both user and configuration FPGA bits, another use case is investigated, namely an I2C master;it is shown that the proposed design again requires less resources than some other commonly used techniques. Both proposed designs were implemented on the Xilinx Zynq-7000 (xc7z020clg400-1). © 2024 IEEE.

In earlier developments, CMOS technology played a great role in realizing majority identifiers. There are huge drawbacks that affect the circuit's performance. To overcome the drawbacks of CMOS-based majority Identifiers, novel memristor-based majority and minority Identifiers have been proposed in this work. The features offered by memristor have motivated us to use the component and achieve greatly improved results compared to CMOS-based majority identifier circuits. After observing the behavior of the basic memristor-based majority identifier circuit, we have decided to design and implement a memristor-based majority and minority identifier circuit which can be used in many automation systems to increase quality and productivity. © 2024 IEEE.

This research presents an ultra-wideband (UWB) textile antenna designfor body-centric applications. The antenna is printed on a 1 mm thick denim substrate with a 1.7 relative permittivity. The jeans substrate is sandwiched between apartial ground plane and a radiating patch with a Q-shaped slot. The slotted radiating patch is placed above the substrate and measures 27.8 mm × 23.8 mm. In freespace, the antenna covers the ultra-wideband spectrum designated by the Federalcommunication Commission (FCC). Various parameters of the antenna designwere changed for further performance evaluation. Depending on the operating frequency, the antenna's realized gain varied from 2.7 to 5 dB. The antenna achievedhigh radiation efficiency with an omnidirectional radiation pattern. A parametricstudy was performed in research on varying antenna substrates and other components of the antenna. The three outermost layers of the human body are used tomodel a human phantom for on-body simulation. After that, the antenna wasplaced at five different distances from the phantom. The findings demonstrate thatat close distances to the phantom, the antenna's gain and efficiency at lower frequencies are reduced. The antenna's radiation efficiency and gain were muchhigher at higher frequencies for distances greater than 6 mm. Compared to freespace, the antenna's radiation pattern was more omnidirectional, especially athigher frequencies. This antenna is novel, compact and has an ultra wide bandwidth, a maximum of 94.60% radiation efficiency and a 5 dBi gain that will makeit a good candidate for body-centric communications.

The food processing sector is undergoing a rapid transformation, primarily driven by the infusion of groundbreaking technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT). This study aims to explore the creation and incorporation of an IoT-centric monitoring and control mechanism within food processing to amplify its quality, safety, and efficiency. One of the most effective and widely used technological advancements for increasing capacity, enhancing quality, and expanding coverage in wireless communications systems is the smart antenna. Smart antennas are essential for increasing the effectiveness and dependability of wireless communication systems because they make use of cutting-edge signal processing techniques. Smart antennas' beamforming capability, which concentrates signal transmission and reception in particular directions, increases signal strength, lowers interference, and expands network capacity. As wireless networks become more complicated, machine learning (ML) has become a potent tool for beamforming optimisation. ML algorithms can proactively adjust antenna characteristics by using real-time data, learning from fluctuations in the environment to optimise performance. In order to improve beamforming capabilities, this research investigates the incorporation of ML with smart antenna systems. We go over several ML techniques, such as supervised and reinforcement learning, for resource allocation, user localisation, and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) optimisation. Additionally, we draw attention to how deep learning might enhance spatial filtering, facilitating more effective communication in 5G and beyond. The potential direction for next-generation wireless communication networks is presented by the convergence of ML and smart antennas. © 2025 IEEE.

In this paper compact flexible octagon shape antenna with a partial ground plane is presented. Jeans fabric is the material used as a substrate while designing the antenna whereas copper tape is used for the fabrication of the patch and ground plane. A line fed circular-slotted flexible octagon shape antenna for wireless and Bluetooth applications is proposed in the current work. The CST Software has been utilized for simulating the anticipated antenna. The key parameters like return loss, input impedance and gain are studied, simulated and optimized. The presented antenna provides wide bandwidth of 64.02% (2.58 GHz) covering the range from 2.74-5.32 GHz. © 2022 IEEE.

The joint uplink/downlink (JUD) design of simultaneously transmitting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (STAR-RIS) is conceived in support of both uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) users. Furthermore, the dual STAR-RISs (D-STAR) concept is conceived as a promising architecture for 360-degree full-plane service coverage, including UL/DL users located between the base station (BS) and the D-STAR as well as beyond. The corresponding regions are termed as primary (P) and secondary (S) regions. Both BS/users exist in the P-region, but only users are located in the S-region. The primary STAR-RIS (STAR-P) plays an important role in terms of tackling the P-region inter-user interference, the self-interference (SI) from the BS and from the reflective as well as refractive UL users imposed on the DL receiver. By contrast, the secondary STAR-RIS (STAR-S) aims for mitigating the S-region interferences. The non-linear and non-convex rate-maximization problem formulated is solved by alternating optimization amongst the decomposed convex sub-problems of the BS beamformer, and the D-STAR amplitude as well as phase shift configurations. We also propose a D-STAR based active beamforming and passive STAR-RIS amplitude/phase (DBAP) optimization scheme to solve the respective sub-problems by Lagrange dual with Dinkelbach's transformation, alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) with successive convex approximation (SCA), and penalty convex-concave procedure (PCCP). Our simulation results reveal that the proposed D-STAR architecture outperforms the conventional single RIS, single STAR-RIS, and half-duplex networks. The proposed DBAP of D-STAR outperforms the state-of-the-art solutions found in the open literature for different numbers of quantization levels, geographic deployment, transmit power and for diverse numbers of transmit antennas, patch partitions as well as D-STAR elements. © 1972-2012 IEEE.

Cross-domain image style transfer task is an attractive topic for several applications, such as image-to-image style transfer, text-to-image style transfer, artistic image generation, etc. In cross-domain image style transfer tasks (e.g., image-to-image style transfer, artistic image-to-image style transfer, text-to-image style transfer, etc.), training becomes cumbersome due to differences in data distribution across domains and complex model architectures. Unlike existing domain adaptation and domain-independent methods that focus on robust and sufficient feature extraction, this work focuses on disentangling the latent space through latent optimization. For this purpose here we propose a new idea of styled image generation from the latent space of StyleGAN which works well for image-to-image and text-to-image style transfer. We critically analyzed the low-dimensional latent structure and its effect on cross-domain image style transfer tasks and finally proposed a method along with a latent optimizing procedure to overcome the problem of style transfer. The experimental results on different standard datasets show that the proposed model is robust, effective, and generic compared to the state-of-the-art models. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Introduction: This paper introduces a novel and reliable approach for people with speech impairment to assist them in communicating effectively in real-time. A deep learning technique named as convolution neural network is used as its classifier. With the help of this algorithm, words are recognized from an input which is visual speech, disregarding the audible or acoustic property. Methods: This network extracts the features from mouth movements and different images, respec-tively. With the help of a source, non-audible mouth movements are taken as an input and then seg-regated as subsets to get the desired output. The Complete Datum is then arranged to recognize the word as an affricate. Results: Convolution neural network is one of the most effective algorithms that extract features, perform classification and provides the desired output from the input images for the speech recognition system. Conclusion: Recognizing the syllables at real-time from visual mouth movement input is the main objective of the proposed method. When the proposed system was tested, datum accuracy and quan-tity of training sets proved to be satisfactory. A small set of datum is taken as the first step of learn-ing. In future, a large set of datum can be considered for analyzing the data. Discussion: On the basis of the type of datum, the network proposed in this paper is tested for its precision level. A network is maintained to identify the syllables, but it fails when syllables are of the same set. There is a requirement of a higher end graphics processing units to reduce the time con-sumption and increase the efficiency of a network. © 2022 Bentham Science Publishers.

Satellite technology has advanced greatly in recent years. These achievements are described in 'Orbiting Innovation with the Impact of Dedicated Satellite Missions on Remote Sensing Capabilities.' Remote sensing has entered a new era with dedicated satellite missions using multi-sensor fusion, self-operation, quantum transmission, and superior data compression. These tasks increase self-driving actions. With customized satellite missions, remote sensing will change drastically. This study aims to improve satellite operations by resolving data exchange speed, security, and flexibility issues. This investigation will achieve this purpose. A thorough testing setup used many satellite events and files. The offered approaches were thoroughly tested. This study measured space resolution, spectrum correctness, and temporal consistency. While studying ablation, researchers identified critical sections' responsibilities. Side-by-side comparisons showed that the supplied solutions were better. These discrepancies were obvious when spatial detail was determined using various approaches. The new approaches outperformed the previous ones, which had an average SR of 0.5 meters and a range of 1.2 to 1.5 meters. This procedure was far better than others. Spectrum-accuracy studies indicated improved grouping abilities. Normal procedures scored 3.0-3.5 on the SA scale, whereas alternative approaches scored 2.5. A low temporal consistency score of 0.8 indicated stability for the offered strategies. This differs from the traditional method of measuring temporal homogeneity using 1.0-1.5. This notion was highlighted by temporal consistency measurements. The ablation experiments showed that each aspect was significant, but quantum communication was the most necessary for operating the complete system. The technologies described were technically brilliant and launched a new age of satellite-based remote sensing. Finally, the approaches became more technologically sophisticated. Dedicated
