In the past, a small size microcontroller was needed to control and gather data from resource-constrained electronic devices aimed at Internet of Things (IoT) applications. While the server nodes receive the requests with a high demand for calculation. However, to minimize network traffic transactions and the overall workload that the server node must handle, a portion of these operations must now be completed locally. Additionally, multiple tasks must be processed simultaneously by IoT devices. In this study, we suggested a multi-core, multi-thread enable System-on-Chip (SoC) that consume small resources. The suggested architecture achieves a notable speed increase over single-core design by utilizing the advantages of RISC-V Instruction Set Architecture (ISA). © 2024 IEEE.

The growth of 6G results in rising data transmission rate in static scenario. To achieve fast communication and computation with quality service in high-speed train is a challenge. This is due to fast handover and Doppler shift. To effectively communicate in high-speed train, the placement of a mobile relay (MR) with small server at the rooftop of train coach is proposed. The base station sends channel state information to mobile relay which stores it in the stack. The resource assignment has been conducted by an improved grey wolf optimization algorithm. The focus is at improving throughput with reduction in latency and energy consumption. The simulation outcomes manifests that the presented algorithm carry-out finer in comparison of the Hungarian algorithm. The accomplished results are refined almost three times in respect of energy consumption, latency, and throughput. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Resonant beam communications (RBCom), which adopts oscillating photons between two separate retroreflectors for information transmission, exhibits potential advantages over other types of wireless optical communications (WOC). However, echo interference generated by the modulated beam reflected from the receiver affects the transmission of the desired information. To tackle this challenge, a synchronization-based point-to-point RBCom system is proposed to eliminate the echo interference, and the design for the transmitter and receiver is discussed. Subsequently,the performance of the proposed RBCom is evaluated and compared with that of visible light communications(VLC)and free space optical communications (FOC). Finally, future research directions are outlined and several implementation challenges of RBCom systems are highlighted.

Group testing is a well-studied approach for identifying defective items among a large amount of items by conducting a relatively small number of tests on pools of items. In this paper, we propose a novel method for generating quasi-random designs with constant pool sizes for noiseless non-adaptive group testing. Our approach incorporates insights from combinatorial properties to optimize the distribution of Hamming distances in pooling designs. Simulations with established practical decoding algorithms show that our quasi-random designs outperform existing random and quasi-random methods in both identification accuracy and stability. These improved designs have the potential to provide significant benefits for real-world applications of group testing, such as PCR testing in large populations and network security. © 2024 The Institute of electronics, Information and Communication Engineers.

With the development with 5G the mobile connectivity in rural areas has increased. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) and internet of things (IOT) has increased its horizon in some applications like Agriculture, Dam monitoring etc. This high computation application requires high computation capacity and low latency. A multi-hop mobile edge computation with D2D communication (MECD2D) has been proposed. The resource allocation has been performed using improved artificial bee colony optimization algorithm (IABCO). It aims at minimizing overall cost of computation by reducing energy consumption and optimizing number of idle users for computation offloading. The simulation results shows that the proposed algorithm performs better as compared to the Kuhn Munkres algorithm. The performance is improved by 2% in terms of energy consumption and 32-48% in terms of resource consumption. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

In this paper, a novel fault diagnosis method for photovoltaic (PV) arrays is proposed. The method combines three machine learning (ML) algorithms: the first one is an unsupervised ML algorithm (principal component analysis, ‘PCA’) used for features reduction;the second one is a kind of a recurrent neural networks (long short-term memory, ‘LSTM’) employed to predict the PV power;and the third one is a supervised ensemble learning categorical boosting algorithm (CatBoost), used mainly for fault classification improvement. Four types of faults (dust deposit on PV modules surface, partial shading effect, shunted diode and open-circuit diode) are examined in this study. Results showed the effectiveness of the proposed method in terms of detection and classification accuracy, 98.70% and 98.58% respectively, and demonstrate the superiority of this method over other investigated ML algorithms (e.g. decision tree, support vector machine, k-nearest neighbours, and random forest). © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Fire detection systems are considered an integral part of any building. However, most fire detection systems use a single passive sensor that usually faces some unavoidable problems, especially with the use of simple processing systems using threshold and trend algorithms. Although more than a single sensor and fire information are used in some existing systems, the real-time fire information and firefighting forecasting are not monitored. Such information facilitates good decision making in firefighting and rescue operations. This paper develops a fast and smart fire detection and monitoring system that can detect and monitor fire incidents with low probability of detection error. The system involves IoT sensors that detect all necessary fire information including heating release rate smoke level, and CO2 level. Moreover, a fire detection and monitoring model based on artificial neural networks is developed to identify fire information in real-time. The proposed system was tested in a chamber box with around 20 experiments. The economic growth of Bangladesh is heavily dependent on agricultural production, but the several diseases have significantly impeded the growth of crops. The zucchini plant is commonly afflicted by diseases such as alternaria blight, anthracnose, and angular leaf spot. As a result, it is now crucial to detect leaf diseases at an early stage to prevent damage to the entire crop. However, farmers often lack of sufficient knowledge regarding leaf diseases and resort to manual methods for identifying disorders. The accuracy of detection is inadequate and time consuming. Therefore, it is crucial to develop an automated and precise identification system to solve this issue. This article introduces a new method for diagnosing and categorizing diseases in zucchini plants. Deep learning, which is a modern and effective approach, is suggested as a means to recognize the disorder and determine the appropriate treatment. Our primary focus was on training the raw dataset using the CNN algorithm, which resulted in an accuracy rate of 88.30 percent. Detecting and identifying diseases in the zucchini plant would contribute to the economic growth of Bangladesh by enhancing the production rate of the crop. © 2023 IEEE.

Important fields including healthcare, environmental monitoring, and military operations are seeing a rise in the use of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). But they are susceptible to complex cyber dangers, especially zero-day assaults, due to their dispersed nature and lack of resources. In order to protect WSNs against zero-day attacks, this research introduces an Adaptive Defense Mechanism (ADM). A dynamic response system that can adjust to changing attack patterns in real-time is integrated with machine learning-based anomaly detection in the proposed ADM. A hybrid model integrating Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks is used by the anomaly detection module. It achieves a detection accuracy of 94.7% on simulated zero-day assault scenarios. In comparison to static defensive systems, the ADM's adaptive response mechanism, which is based on reinforcement learning, dynamically modifies the network's security regulations, resulting in a 23.5% reduction in false positives. Results from testing the proposed ADM in a simulated WSN setting show that it can greatly improve the network's ability to withstand zero-day assaults. With assaults present, the total network throughput increased by 15% and the average detection time dropped to 0.35 seconds. Based on these findings, the ADM provides a strong and effective defensive technique, guaranteeing the safety and dependability of WSNs in mission-critical applications. © 2024 IEEE.

The quantum-resistant qualities of various encryption methods, such as N-th degree Truncated polynomial Ring Units (NTRU) Encrypt, NTRU Sign, Ring-Lizard, and Kyber protocols are becoming more important in light of the ever-evolving nature of digital threats. An-depth analysis of the mathematical derivation of these algorithms, as well as a determination of their computing efficiency and resistance to quantum assaults is discussed in this paper. Techniques of the Ring-Lizard and Kyber algorithms to lattice-based encryption are analyzed. The study gives an overview of quantum-resistant capabilities of these algorithms and their performance measures. Strengths and weaknesses of the NTRU Encrypt, NTRU Sign, Ring-Lizard, and Kyber algorithms are discussed. The results give useful insights for cybersecurity practitioners, academics, and policymakers, aiding them in making educated choices to protect digital infrastructures against quantum attacks. © 2024 IEEE.
