Stochastic simulation of a nano-electromechanical energy transducer is presented in this paper. This system acts like an engine with four transformations in each engine cycle that converts potential energy due to quantum vacuum fluctuation of the electromagnetic field, or Casimir effect, to electrical energy. The system is composed of an oscillating semiconductor boundary parallel to a fixed plate separated by vacuum. The effect of the Casimir pressure in this engine is controlled by changing the optical properties of the boundaries when they are exposed to radiation that alters the plasma frequency of the dielectric medium of the moving and stationary boundaries. The stochastic simulation presented in this paper demonstrates the efficiency of the device in achieving positive net energy and deals with uncertainties in modelling such as friction and noise in the system, thereby providing a realistic model. A Langevin equation, which describes the Brownian motion, is considered for stochastic simulation of the system. The work done by the Casimir force is carried out in an open path of energy conversion, and the external radiation input to this system is not a means of input energy;rather, it is a tool to vary the system parameters.

A novel multiwall carbon nanotube(MWNT) / PC/ABS nanocomposite was prepared in this study. Two modifier, vinyl trimethoxy silane (VTMOS) and maleic anhydride (MA), were grafted to the MWNT surface via the free radical reaction. A reactive compatibilizer, styrene maleic anhydride(SMA), was employed to produce the chemical bonding between PC/ABS and the modified MWNT. The physical properties of these carbon nanotube / PC/ABS resin nanocomposite was studied. From the results, tensile properties of nanocomposites, it cab be from 532.6Kgf/cm2 to 556.7Kgf/cm2 by adding 1wt% to 2.5wt% MWNT-g-VTMOS. In heat deflection test, the addition of 2wt% MWNT-g-VTMOS can raise HDT of nanocomposites from 86 .0°C to 89.4°C.

Orchard navigation using sensor-based localization and flexible mission management facilitates successful missions independent of the Global Positioning System (GPS). This is especially important while driving between tight tree rows where the GPS coverage is poor. This paper suggests localization based on an a priori map of the tree rows, a laser scanner based tree row detection, detecting both the row line and the row ends. The localization is combined with mission objectives in a rule-based inference interpreter. This rule-based mission handler combines the functional modules: localization, obstacle avoidance, path planning and drive control. The system is tested successfully using a Hako 20 kW tractor during autonomous missions in both cherry and apple orchards with mission length of up to 2.3 km including the headland turns.

In the literature for fault detection, most of research works have never been mentioned about the high frequency transformer including capacitances. This paper presents behaviour of winding to ground fault signals in a three-phase two-winding transformer. The advantage of the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is that the band of analysis can be fine adjusted so that high frequency components and low frequency components are detected precisely, consequently DWT is considered herein. The fault is simulated using ATP/EMTP and the behaviour analysis of signals is performed using DWT. The variation of high frequency components of differential current signals is proposed in this paper. The results obtained from the analysis will be useful in the development of a detect fault scheme for power transformer in the future.
