Simulations are commonly used to develop and evaluate video encryption algorithms. Although these approaches are useful for demonstrating theoretical feasibility and algorithm performance, they neglect practical challenges and real-world communication conditions. This oversight creates a critical gap in evaluating their effectiveness and security in practical applications. In this paper, we describe a novel, to the best of our knowledge, video encryption scheme that employs a modified chaotic Colpitts oscillator, a customized Josephus problem, and ribonucleic acid (RNA) operations, and is implemented in visible light communication (VLC) environment. The modified Colpitts oscillator reveals significant phenomena, the most prominent for this study being chaos. The encryption scheme involves block scrambling and pixel-level permutation employing a customized Josephus problem and a column and row shifting technique. Diffusion is then achieved through a custom Josephus problem-oriented RNA operation combined with basic RNA operations and cipher block chaining (CBC). Based on the results, we found that the customized Josephus problem-based permutation performed more efficiently than traditional methods, whereas the column and row shifting permutation was more robust. By eliminating key sequence coding and item-to-item operations, the proposed RNA operation reduces computational overhead. This video encryption scheme is proven to be effective and resilient at securing video data transmitted over the VLC channel, and it constitutes a significant advancement in areas such as surveillance, medical imaging, and military communication requiring robust secured video data. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group. Sonic interaction design is defined as the study and exploitation of sound as one of the principal channels conveying information, meaning, and aesthetic/emotional qualities in interactive contexts. This field lies at the intersection of interaction design, and sound and music *** the virtual reality community, the focus of research on topics related to auditory feedback has been rather limited when compared, for example, to the focus placed on visual feedback or even on haptic feedback. However, in such communities as film production or product sound design it is well known that sound is a powerful way to communicate meaning and emotion to a scene or a *** 2025 is the 8th of a series of workshops, whose main goal is to increase awareness among the virtual reality community of the importance of sonic elements when designing virtual/augmented/mixed reality (XR hereafter) environments. Participants to the workshop will also discuss how research in other related fields such as film sound theory, product sound design, sound and music computing, game sound design, and accessibility can inform designers of XR environments. Moreover, the workshop will feature state-of-the-art research in the field of sound for XR environments.

A Multi-population Integrated Approach for Capacitated Location Routing

The capacitated location-routing problem involves determining the depots from a set of candidate capacitated depot locations and finding the required routes from the selected depots to serve a set of customers whereas minimizing a cost function that includes the cost of opening the chosen depots, the fixed utilization cost per vehicle used, and the total cost (distance) of the routes. This paper presents a multi-population integrated framework in which a multi-depot edge assembly crossover generates promising offspring solutions from the perspective of both depot location and route edge assembly. The method includes an effective neighborhood-based local search, a feasibility-restoring procedure and a diversification-oriented mutation. Of particular interest is the multi-population scheme which organizes the population into multiple subpopulations based on depot configurations. Extensive experiments on 281 benchmark instances from the literature show that the algorithm performs remarkably well, by improving 101 best-known results (new upper bounds) and matching 84 best-known results. The article is devoted to the development of means for recognition of the emotions of the speaker, based on the neural network analysis of fixed fragments of the voice signal. The possibility of improving recognition tools through the use of a convolutional neural network of the GoogLeNet type is shown. The expediency of training the network on the examples of the TESS database is determined. A procedure for representing a voice signal in the form of a square grayscale image has been developed. Based on the use of the specified database, the modification of the GoogLeNet network was carried out. The architecture and software implementation of the recognition module have been developed. With the help of computer experiments, it has been established that after 150 epochs of training on a fairly limited training sample, the modified GoogLeNet makes it possible to achieve an accuracy of recognition of the speaker's emotions of approximately 0.97 on test examples. The obtained accuracy is comparable to the accuracy of the best modern systems of this purpose and confirms the promise of using neural network models like GoogLeNet for emotion recognition based on voice signal analysis. The need for further research aimed at reducing the resource intensity of the neural network model is shown. © 2022 IEEE.

Mammography is the primary imaging tool for breast cancer diagnosis. Despite significant strides in applying deep learning to interpret mammography images, efforts that focus predominantly on visual features often struggle with generalization across datasets. We hypothesize that integrating additional modalities in the radiology practice, notably the linguistic features of reports and manifestation features embodying radiological insights, offers a more powerful, interpretable and generalizable representation. In this paper, we announce MVKL, the first multimodal mammography dataset encompassing multi-view images, detailed manifestations and reports. Based on this dataset, we focus on the challanging task of unsupervised pretraining and propose ViKL, a innovative framework that synergizes Visual, Knowledge, and Linguistic features. This framework relies solely on pairing information without the necessity for pathology labels, which are often challanging to acquire. ViKL employs a triple contrastive learning approach to merge linguistic and knowledge-based insights with visual data, enabling both inter-modality and intra-modality feature enhancement. Our research yields significant findings: 1) Integrating reports and manifestations with unsupervised visual pretraining, ViKL substantially enhances the pathological classification and fosters multimodal interactions. 2) Manifestations can introduce a novel hard negative sample selection mechanism. 3) The multimodal features demonstrate transferability across different datasets. 4) The multimodal pretraining approach curbs miscalibrations and crafts a high-quality representation space. This article investigates the practical scenarios of chasing an adversarial evader in an unbounded environment with cluttered obstacles. We propose a Voronoi-based decentralized algorithm for multiple pursuers to encircle and capture the evader by reacting to collisions. An efficient approach is presented for constructing an obstacle-aware evader-centered bounded Voronoi cell (OA-ECBVC), which strictly ensures collision avoidance in various obstacle scenarios when pursuing the evader. The evader can be efficiently enclosed in a convex hull given random initial configurations. Furthermore, to cooperatively capture the evader, each pursuer continually compresses the boundary of its OA-ECBVC to quickly reduce the movement space of the evader while maintaining encirclement. Our OA-ECBVC algorithm is validated in various simulated environments with different dynamic systems of robots. Real-time performance of resisting uncertainties shows the superior reliability of our method for deployment on multiple robot platforms. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Research in mobile robotics is growing into applications for difficult-to-access environments, such as in rescue and transport missions. Furthermore, autonomous vehicles can perform data collection in complex approach areas. Therefore, the study of hybrid unmanned vehicles is relevant for several areas, since these vehicles can act in different domains. The developed vehicle, called Hydrone, is designed in a quadrotor-type structure and equipped with a set of aerial and underwater propellers, which are fixed and independent between them. In this sense, this work presents the mathematical modeling of an unmanned hybrid vehicle, which can navigate underwater and aerial environments. Furthermore, the modeling considers the ground effect due to the influence on the vehicle’s trajectory change and the dynamics of the transition zone between water-air and air-water. These dynamics are important to evaluate the controller’s performance. Numerical simulations consider both transitions (water-air and air-water) and they are performed to discuss the influence of acting forces on the vehicle stability and position-tracking performance using a classical control system. © 2024, The Authors. Generative AI (GAI) can enhance the cognitive, reasoning, and planning capabilities of intelligent modules in the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) by synthesizing augmented datasets, completing sensor data, and making sequential decisions. In addition, the mixture of experts (MoE) can enable the distributed and collaborative execution of AI models without performance degradation between connected vehicles. In this survey, we explore the integration of MoE and GAI to enable Artificial General Intelligence in IoV, which can enable the realization of full autonomy for IoV with minimal human supervision and applicability in a wide range of mobility scenarios, including environment monitoring, traffic management, and autonomous driving. In particular, we present the fundamentals of GAI, MoE, and their interplay applications in IoV. Furthermore, we discuss the potential integration of MoE and GAI in IoV, including distributed perception and monitoring, collaborative decision-making and planning, and generative modeling and simulation. Physico-mechanical properties of rocks have a direct correlation with the drilling rate of percussive drill. The prediction of drilling rate is important for the deployment of drills during the planning stage. In tropical climatic regions, limestone is classified as blocky, very blocky, blocky/ seamy and disintegrated based on the degree of weathering. Weathering of limestone takes place very rapidly in tropical (wet) climatic regions. Previous researchers have correlated different individual rock mass properties with rate of drilling. However, single property of limestone is not adequate to correlate with the drilling rate. In this study, sensitivity analysis of different properties of weathered limestone was carried out with respect to drilling rate. Rock density, rock quality designation (RQD), geological strength index (GSI), point load index (PLI) and Schmidt hammer rebound number (SHRN) were identified as crucial input parameters. 113 data sets were collected with the foregoing five input parameters and the output parameter as drilling rate of percussive drills. Data was analysed with multi variable regression analysis (MVRA) which showed R2 value as 0.54. Artificial neural network (ANN) has been widely used for solving various engineering problems. On the other hand, optimization problems are solved by the Biogeography Based Optimization (BBO) model. Further this data was analysed with a hybrid intelligent model namely BBO- ANN.
