Large Language Models (LLM) is a type of artificial neural network that excels at language-related tasks. The advantages and disadvantages of using LLM in software engineering are still being debated, but it is a tool that can be utilized in software engineering. This study aimed to analyze LLM studies in software engineering using bibliometric and content analysis. The study data were retrieved from Web of Science and Scopus. The data were analyzed using two popular bibliometric approaches: bibliometric and content analysis. VOS Viewer and Bibliometrix software were used to conduct the bibliometric analysis. The bibliometric analysis was performed using science mapping and performance analysis approaches. Various bibliometric data, including the most frequently referenced publications, journals, and nations, were evaluated and presented. Then, the synthetic knowledge method was utilized for content analysis. This study examined 235 papers, with 836 authors contributing. The publications were published in 123 different journals. The average number of citations per publication is 1.44. Most publications were published in Proceedings International Conference on Software engineering and ACM International Conference Proceeding Series, with China and the United States emerging as the leading countries. It was discovered that international collaboration on the issue was inadequate. The most often used keywords in the publications were "software design," "code (symbols)," and "code generation." Following the content analysis, three themes emerged: 1) Integration of LLM into software engineering education, 2) application of LLM in software engineering, and 3) potential and limitation of LLM in software engineering. In this paper, we introduce a nonlinear distributed model predictive control (DMPC) algorithm, which allows for dissimilar and time-varying control horizons among agents, thereby addressing a common limitation in current DMPC schemes. We consider cooperative agents with varying computational capabilities and operational objectives, each willing to manage varying numbers of optimization variables at each time step. Recursive feasibility and a non-increasing evolution of the optimal cost are proven for the proposed algorithm. Through numerical simulations on systems with three agents, we show that our approach effectively approximates the performance of traditional DMPC, while reducing the number of variables to be optimized. This advancement paves the way for a more decentralized yet coordinated control strategy in various applications, including power systems and traffic management.

The imminent advent of Quantum computers poses a significant threat to the cryptographic algorithms supporting the public key infrastructure (PKI) of widely used communication protocols. High Performance Computing (HPC) data centers among other interested parties are well aware of the catastrophic consequences quantum attacks could have on their PKI and are consequently transitioning to Post-Quantum Cryptographic (PQC) methods, despite the substantial overhead this introduces for handling incoming network packets. This work addresses the transition to PQC within the context of the Cloud-Edge Continuum by integrating the Open Quantum Safe (OQS) library into the accelerated strongSwan developed by Mellanox for Data Processing Units (DPUs). This integration offloads cryptographic operations from central servers to data DPUs distributed across the cloud-edge continuum. Our solution ensures quantum security by providing PQ authentication through CRYSTALS-Dilithium or CRYSTALS-FALCON, PQ key exchanges via CRYSTALS-Kyber, and confidential data transmission using AES-256. Additionally, the deployment of this implementation on DPUs helps reduce the computational load on both HPC data centers and edge devices, promoting more efficient and secure operations across the entire cloud-edge continuum.

Data centers, cloud and edge computing platforms are absorbing heavy AI-based workloads. This raises two concerns: how to reduce the networking overhead by host processors in order to focus only on AI-processing, and how to provide quantum resilient level protection for any connection running such workloads. In this paper, we will show case the concept of zero-tax data center, which is achieved through offloading of networking functions from the host to the network. In particular, the implementation of postquantum cryptography algorithms providing quantum resilient links and how the processing its complex processing is moved from host to network through the utilization of data-processing units.

In this paper,we present a novel adaptive performance control approach for strict-feedback nonparametric systems with unknown time-varying control coefficients,which mainly includes the following ***,by introducing several key transformation functions and selecting the initial value of the time-varying scaling function,the symmetric prescribed performance with global and semi-global properties can be handled uniformly,without the need for control ***,to handle the problem of unknown time-varying control coefficient with an unknown sign,we propose an enhanced Nussbaum function(ENF)bearing some unique properties and characteristics,with which the complex stability analysis based on specific Nussbaum functions as commonly used is no longer ***,by utilizing the core-function information technique,the nonparametric uncertainties in the system are gracefully handled so that no approximator is ***,simulation results verify the effectiveness and benefits of the approach.

Deep neural networks (DNNs) are widely used in fields like computer vision and natural language processing. A key component of DNN training is the optimizer. SGD-Momentum is popular in many DNN methodologies, such as ResNet and DenseNet, due to its simplicity and effectiveness. However, its slow convergence rate limits its use. To overcome this, we introduce inter-gradient collision into SGD-Momentum, inspired by the elastic collision model in physics. This new method, called ICSGD-Momentum, aims to improve convergence. We provide theoretical proof of convergence and establish a regret bound for ICSGD-Momentum. Experiments on benchmarks including function optimization, CIFAR-100, ImageNet, Penn Treebank, COCO, and YCB-Video show that ICSGD-Momentum accelerates training and enhances the generalization performance of DNNs compared to optimizers like SGD-Momentum, Adam, RAdam, Adabound, and AdaBelief. © 2024 IEEE.

This study focuses on islanding protection for a microgrid operating at 11kV. The literature provides novel algorithms developed for islanding protection schemes. However, there is a lack of validation and test the IEC61850 GOOSE message application for the islanding protection scheme. The paper's significant contribution is to address the literature gap by comparing legacy islanding protection with the IEC 61850 GOOSE message application. The research utilizes simulation techniques in the DigSilent and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulations using RTDS to assess the performance of the Islanding protection scheme. Four test scenarios were conducted, which include undervoltage, overvoltage, underfrequency, and overfrequency protection functionalities. The simulation validation results from these four scenarios confirm that the modeled distribution system meets the required protection criteria for both legacy (hardwired) and modern IEC61850 GOOSE message applications. The simulation results show that the GOOSE message application for the Islanding protection scheme operates faster than the legacy scheme.
