The current large-scale Internet of Things(IoT)networks typically generate high-velocity network traffic *** use IoT devices to create botnets and launch attacks,such as DDoS,Spamming,Cryptocurrency mining,Phishing,*** service providers of large-scale IoT networks need to set up a data pipeline to collect the vast network traffic data from the IoT devices,store it,analyze it,and report the malicious IoT devices and types of ***,the attacks originating from IoT devices are dynamic,as attackers launch one kind of attack at one time and another kind of attack at another *** number of attacks and benign instances also vary from time to *** phenomenon of change in attack patterns is called concept ***,the attack detection system must learn continuously from the ever-changing real-time attack patterns in large-scale IoT network *** meet this requirement,in this work,we propose a data pipeline with Apache Kafka,Apache Spark structured streaming,and MongoDB that can adapt to the ever-changing attack patterns in real time and classify attacks in large-scale IoT *** concept drift is detected,the proposed system retrains the classifier with the instances that cause the drift and a representative subsample instances from the previous training of the *** proposed approach is evaluated with the latest dataset,IoT23,which consists of benign and several attack instances from various IoT *** classification accuracy is improved from 97.8%to 99.46%by the proposed *** training time of distributed random forest algorithm is also studied by varying the number of cores in Apache Spark environment.

The nonlinear filtering problem has enduringly been an active research topic in both academia and industry due to its ever-growing theoretical importance and practical *** main objective of nonlinear filtering is to infer the states of a nonlinear dynamical system of interest based on the available noisy measurements. In recent years, the advance of network communication technology has not only popularized the networked systems with apparent advantages in terms of installation,cost and maintenance, but also brought about a series of challenges to the design of nonlinear filtering algorithms, among which the communication constraint has been recognized as a dominating concern. In this context, a great number of investigations have been launched towards the networked nonlinear filtering problem with communication constraints, and many samplebased nonlinear filters have been developed to deal with the highly nonlinear and/or non-Gaussian scenarios. The aim of this paper is to provide a timely survey about the recent advances on the sample-based networked nonlinear filtering problem from the perspective of communication constraints. More specifically, we first review three important families of sample-based filtering methods known as the unscented Kalman filter, particle filter,and maximum correntropy filter. Then, the latest developments are surveyed with stress on the topics regarding incomplete/imperfect information, limited resources and cyber ***, several challenges and open problems are highlighted to shed some lights on the possible trends of future research in this realm.

An effective object detection and tracking using automated image annotation with inception based faster R-CNN model

The present study advances object detection and tracking techniques by proposing a novel model combining Automated Image Annotation with Inception v2-based Faster RCNN (AIA-IFRCNN). The research methodology utilizes the DCF-CSRT model for image annotation, Faster RCNN for object detection, and the inception v2 model for feature extraction, followed by a softmax layer for image classification. The proposed AIA-IFRCNN model is evaluated on three benchmark datasets: Bird (Dataset 1), UCSDped2 (Dataset 2), and Under Water (Dataset 3), to determine prediction accuracy, annotation time, Center Location Error (CLE), and Overlap Rate (OR). The experimental results indicate that the AIA-IFRCNN model outperformed existing models regarding detection accuracy and tracking performance. Notably, it achieved a maximum detection accuracy of 95.62 % on Dataset 1, outperforming other models. Additionally, it achieved minimum average CLE values of 4.16, 5.78, and 3.54, and higher overlap rates of 0.92, 0.90, and 0.94 on the respective datasets (1, 2 and 3). Hence, this research work on object detection and tracking using the AIA-IFRCNN model is essential for improving system efficiency and fostering innovation in the field of computer vision and object tracking. © 2024

An Optimized Hybrid Deep Learning Model for Appliance Energy Prediction in Smart Homes

The increased energy consumption due to industrial machines and household appliances affectenergy sustainability as well as economic stability. To meet the energy demand various practices are followed worldwide. Research on sustainable energy production is at peak meanwhile research towards reducing the cost of energy generation is gaining more interest in recent times. one of the key points considered to reduce the power generation cost is energy consumption prediction. Future demands can be predicted, and necessary power can be generated or delivered to meet the demand. Specifically, prediction model is essentially required for smart homes as they utilize multiple devices for smart connectivity. Machine learning algorithms are widely used for energy prediction applications. However, the performance of machine learning models needs manual selection of features and is still complex in data analysis and decision-making process. Recently deep learning (DL) techniques are used in various classification and prediction applications. DL superior performance is incorporated for energy prediction for smart home appliances. This research work presents a hybrid optimized DL model using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) network. Additionally, to improve the prediction performances, the parameters of the hybrid DL model is fine-tuned using canonical particle swarm optimization algorithm. Experiments of the proposed model utilizes UCI Household power consumption dataset to evaluate the performances in terms of RMSE, MAPE, MAE and R2-score. The proposed model attained RMSE of 26.2154W, MAPE of 2.965%, MAE of 18.65W and R2-Score of 0.9989 which is much better than existing linear regression, extreme learning machine and diverse LSTM models. © 2024 School of science, DUTH. Music genre classification using convolution temporal pooling network

Music genre classification is one of the most interesting topics in digital music. Classifying genres is basically subjective, and different listeners may perceive genres in various ways. Furthermore, it might be difficult to classify some songs accurately since they belong to numerous genres. Genres are incredibly wide and ill-defined categories, which makes them problematic. Thus, genre-based measures are inherently inaccurate and coarse. Moreover, not every piece of music cleanly fits into a particular genre. Many papers based on deep neural networks perform sound recognition and classification with input images of audio, which do not affect the time–frequency representation of a signal. The traditional method adds waveform augmentation to the audio signal, thereby increasing the network's training speed. This paper considers music genre classification with the convolution temporal pooling framework and explores the impact of adding the SpecAugment method to augment the spectrogram itself. The augmented spectrogram is then fed into a convolutional temporal pooling network. In this model, the temporal and pooling layers identify the genre pattern and classify the songs based on the genre. It also predicts these duplication that will occur in the given sample. We apply this model to the GTZAN dataset, a widely used dataset for music genre classification. This method improves the identification of Rock and Pop song and also eliminates the replication of the songs. The trained model reports an accuracy of 0.75 for training a 30-s audio file. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Acute Bilirubin Encephalopathy(ABE)is a significant threat to neonates and it leads to disability and high mortality *** and treating ABE promptly is important to prevent further complications and long-term *** studies have explored ABE ***,they often face limitations in classification due to reliance on a single modality of Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI).To tackle this problem,the authors propose a Tri-M2MT model for precise ABE detection by using tri-modality MRI *** scans include T1-weighted imaging(T1WI),T2-weighted imaging(T2WI),and apparent diffusion coefficient maps to get indepth ***,the tri-modality MRI scans are collected and preprocessesed by using an Advanced Gaussian Filter for noise reduction and Z-score normalisation for data *** Advanced Capsule Network was utilised to extract relevant features by using Snake Optimization Algorithm to select optimal features based on feature correlation with the aim of minimising complexity and enhancing detection ***,a multi-transformer approach was used for feature fusion and identify feature correlations ***,accurate ABE diagnosis is achieved through the utilisation of a SoftMax *** performance of the proposed Tri-M2MT model is evaluated across various metrics,including accuracy,specificity,sensitivity,F1-score,and ROC curve analysis,and the proposed methodology provides better performance compared to existing methodologies.

Real-Time Speech Enhancement Based on Convolutional Recurrent Neural Network

Speech enhancement is the task of taking a noisy speech input and pro-ducing an enhanced speech *** recent years,the need for speech enhance-ment has been increased due to challenges that occurred in various applications such as hearing aids,Automatic Speech Recognition(ASR),and mobile speech communication *** of the Speech Enhancement research work has been carried out for English,Chinese,and other European *** a few research works involve speech enhancement in Indian regional *** this paper,we propose a two-fold architecture to perform speech enhancement for Tamil speech signal based on convolutional recurrent neural network(CRN)that addresses the speech enhancement in a real-time single channel or track of sound created by the *** theﬁrst stage mask based long short-term mem-ory(LSTM)is used for noise suppression along with loss function and in the sec-ond stage,Convolutional Encoder-Decoder(CED)is used for speech *** proposed model is evaluated on various speaker and noisy environments like Babble noise,car noise,and white Gaussian *** proposed CRN model improves speech quality by 0.1 points when compared with the LSTM base model and also CRN requires fewer parameters for *** performance of the pro-posed model is outstanding even in low Signal to Noise Ratio(SNR).

Adaptive whale optimization based clustering method for K- anonymization in social networks

The usage of online social networks (OSNs) has been significantly swelling over the years. Data from SNs has been shared publicly for the purpose of deeper understanding user behaviour and data mining tasks. However, securing individual identification from the publicly published data is the primary issue in sharing social network databases. K-anonymization is a well-known technique for preventing individual identification of publically available datasets. According to this method, each record in the anonymized dataset must be identical to at least k-1 other records in terms of a set of privacy-related attributes. Although anonymizing the original dataset to meet the k-anonymity criteria is straightforward, the anonymized dataset must maintain as much information from the original dataset as possible. Recently, clustering methods have been used to apply K-anonymization to the social dataset successfully. This paper applies a swarm-based clustering technique, called adaptive whale optimization algorithm (AWOA) for clustering social data. The WOA algorithm replicates humpback whale behavior and employs fewer internal parameters to support a better balance of exploitation and exploration. The method is tested on three publicly available data sets: Yelp and Facebook dataset. The experimental findings show that the proposed method attained the minimum information loss of 11% for Yelp dataset and 10% for facebook dataset. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.
