In developing ready-to-cook dried pork products which can provide satisfaction to consumers,it is necessary to know to which product attributes consumers give their *** research has the objectives of analyzing product attributes of ready-to-cook dried pork products which affect consumer purchasing preferences with the techniques of Conjoint *** research methodology starts by seeking product attributes and their levels with Focus *** attributes obtained were used to create a questionnaire and collect data from a sample group of 200 *** their responses to the questionnaire,respondents were asked to rank a list of combinations of product attributes according to their *** data was then analyzed for utilities values to find which product attributes contributed to consumer satisfaction and at what *** results found that the most important attributes were flavorful taste,followed by standards of guaranteed tastiness,a price of 200 baht/kg,type of pork meat used being either all lean or lean and fat and sodium levels in low-sodium products.

The process of extracting oil from oil wells still uses the premier and secondary methods, another method that is not optimal is the tertiary method to increase oil recovery. The tertiary method is by chemical injection with surfactants, polymers, and alkalis, among others. Surfactants (surface active agents) can change the interface tension of insoluble liquids. One of the surfactants that can be used is sodium lignosulfonate (SLS). In this study, sodium lignosulfonate surfactant was made from lignin as raw material isolated from black liquor. In this study, the surfactant sodium lignosulfonate was reacted with polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a polymer so that it became a polymeric surfactant. The surfactant polymer that has been synthesized can control oil mobility due to its viscous nature in aqueous solutions. This study examines the effect of the molecular weight of polyethylene glycol and sodium lignosulfonate, temperature, the concentration of ammonium persulfate catalyst, the weight ratio of polyethylene glycol and sodium lignosulfonate. FTIR test results on sodium lignosulfonate surfactant have a wavelength of 3369 cm−1 hydroxyl groups -OH, 1593 cm−1 -C=O aromatic groups, 1456 cm−1 -S = O groups, 1423 cm−1 -CH aromatic groups, 1216 cm−1 asymmetric SO2 groups, =C= S, and 1102cm−1 symmetric groups SO2=C=S. The compatibility test of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) shows that SLS is compatible with the formation of water. Filtration test of enhanced oil recovery shows that SLS using membrane 42 produces greater FR solution.

Since the industrial revolution, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has been unprecedentedly rising. Burning of traditional fossil fuels for thermal and power generation results into the increase of greenhouse gases emission. In order to effectively achieve carbon dioxide abatement, the strategy of partially replacing coal with biomass as carbon neutral has become a trend globally. However, the solid fuel properties between raw materials and coal are very distinct. Torrefaction, considered as one of thermal degradation process, can effectively improve the grindability, hydrophobicity and heating value of solid fuel. In this study, Taguchi method was employed to probe the optimization parameters of Alee trees torrefaction process for maximizing the solid combustion, evaluating via the criterion of the combination index derived from proximate analysis and element analysis. The nitrogen cycle is crucial in aquaculture, particularly biofloc technology (BFT), where microbial communities regulate nitrogen dynamics to maintain water quality. This study evaluates the impact of Pure Nano Oxygen Bubbles (BFT-PNOBs) on nitrogen cycling and its subsequent effects on the water quality, feed efficiency, and growth performance of Nile tilapia ( Oreochromis niloticus ) compared to conventional BFT. Over 56 days, the total nitrogen concentration in both systems was 118.54–119.49 mg/L. NH 4 + concentrations were consistently lower in BFT-PNOBs at 0.63 mg/L than in BFT at 0.70 mg/L, suggesting a more efficient nitrification process facilitated by higher dissolved oxygen (DO) levels of 7.72 mg/L in BFT-PNOBs compared to BFT (6.67 mg/L). The selectivity of nitrogen transformation into bioavailable forms was also more efficient in BFT-PNOBs, with 58.47 % of nitrogen converted into microbial biomass and gaseous nitrogen, compared to 38.78 % in BFT. Additionally, with carbon maintained at ∼250 mg/L in both systems, the higher and more stable C/N ratio observed in BFT-PNOBs and BFT (13.99 and 10.14, respectively) reflects more efficient nitrogen removal and microbial assimilation. The superior nitrogen management in BFT-PNOBs minimized toxic nitrogen accumulation, stabilized water quality, and enhanced fish performance, resulting in a higher final body weight of 57.13 g compared to 48.08 g in BFT and a greater survival rate. These findings suggest that nano-oxygen bubble-enhanced biofloc systems optimize nitrogen cycling, supporting sustainable aquaculture by reducing environmental nitrogen waste, enhancing fish growth, and improving feed utilization.

An evaluation of the tropical architectural concept on the building design for achieving thermal comfort (Case study: engineering faculty of Syiah Kuala university)

Thermal comfort is one of the main goals in architectural design. For the tropics, thermal comfort can be achieved with passive cooling and active cooling. Buildings in the tropics should be designed to maximize the application of passive cooling to achieve thermal comfort by adapting to the climate using the concept of tropical architecture. The study was performed at the building of the Faculty of engineering of Syiah Kuala University seen to be applying tropical architecture. The research aims to find out how the application of tropical architectural concepts in building designs to achieve thermal comfort. The methodology used was a qualitative method by observing the mass and orientation of the building, roofs, ceilings, walls, openings and vents, shading, and landscaping. The results indicated that the rectangular building with the shortest side faces east-west aiming to reduce the hottest exposure to solar radiation in the east and west. There are many openings on the north-south side to maximize air flow. The gable shape with a slope of 30° is a form of adaptation to the tropical climate to shade the building from the sun and rain. The use of vertical, horizontal, and hallway shading devices as shade can protect direct light from the sun. The building maximizes cross air flow with many openings. It is recommended to conduct further research in this study which is accompanied by field measurements and thermal comfort simulation tests.

Study on natural ventilation performance in flats design at Banda Aceh

Flats are one of the solutions to housing problems faced by all countries in the world, especially developing countries like Indonesia. Flats are intended for low-income society. But ventilation problems often occur in some vertical housing due to non-optimal layout and lack of openings in each unit. The cheapest solution is to optimize the natural ventilation to expediting air circulation from inside to outside. The purpose of this study is to review natural ventilation performance in flats design at Banda Aceh. Natural ventilation offers healthy and comfortable air circulation without additional energy. The performance of natural ventilation is affected by the building's layout and orientation, the opening's orientations, locations, dimensions, types and the air-flow controller. The methodology used is the observation method with a descriptive survey that aims to look for symptoms with an observation method. The study begins with a field study and then conducts an analysis to compare existing conditions with theoretical studies. The results obtained are the design of these flats has been designed to be able to maximize the natural ventilation system, but the air movement cannot be felt by the occupants due to the opening's dimensions which is not following the existing standards.

Communal space patterns in tsunami aid housing for creating public open space after COVID-19 (case study: Gampong Tibang, Banda Aceh, Indonesia)

After the 2004 tsunami disaster, many aid housing developments were carried out, including housing in Gampong Tibang (Tibang Village), Banda Aceh City, with the pattern of building in the initial plot, with low building density. The local community has developed their housing according to their needs. When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, requiring everyone to be in their respective homes, causing open space in the housing environment to become important as a village communal space, which has social and health functions for residents. This research emphasizes how people use communal open spaces for various activities, which are adaptive to the COVID-19 health protocol. The study approach uses field research quickly, the data is obtained by observing the type of housing open space that has the public function (communal open space) and the behavior of the community in using the space. The analysis was carried out in an analytical descriptive manner, looking at the pattern of activities associated with the COVID-19 health protocol. The results showed that there were 9 communal spaces spread over 4 types: a) field with a bale (an open design building of wood), which was used by men; b) the space around the kiosk that provides seating on an open terrace for all residents; c) open space around the intersection for children to play dynamically (cycling, running, sitting); d) the terrace of the residents' house which is more for the passive activities of women. That four types of spaces according to the COVID-19 health protocol are very familiar with a natural atmosphere (enough air circulation and sufficient exposure to sunlight). The conclusion of the study shows that the need for socio-cultural space is still needed by the community during the COVID-19 pandemic which can actually make residents healthy.

Beach Topographic Change Analysis Using Multi-temporal UAV Data

A time-serial topographic change was performed using two kinds of surveying methods, including direct measurement and indirect remote sensing technology for beach topography surveillance. Compared with reference topographic data, the root mean square error was 0.169 m. From May, 2018 to March, 2019, multi-temporal beach topographic change results indicated that the distance between baseline and shoreline varied in the range of −24.82∼9.58 meter, and weekly variates are −3.16∼0.45 m. The UAV technique can be efficiently used to detect topographic change information in the coastal area.

Economic analysis of planning for utilization of tabang hydro power plant

From the technical side, analyzing the hydropower design planning that matches the conditions of the Belayan River. From the economic side, analyzing the feasibility of hydropower projects through investment costs along with cash flow to the economic life of the project, using several methods, namely Net Present Value (NPV), Payback Period (PBP), Benefit Even Point (BEP), Benefit-Cost Ratio (B-CR), and Internal Rate of Return (IRR). The results of technical analysis with reliable discharge Q (10%) produce an output power of 439,4 MW with 4 generators, the power is then transmitted to the Melak Main Station with a distance of ± 100 km. Investment costs incurred in the planning of the construction of the Tabang hydro power plant (PLTA) in East Kalimantan is 3.673.356.951.235. The net present value (NPV) obtained is Rp.3.911.323.016.835 with a return on investment of 7.77 years and a break-even point for expenses and income in the 11,36 year. The ratio of project cost and benefit ratio is 1,32 and IRR (Internal Rate of Return) calculation is 19.53%. These results indicate that the plan to build a Tabang hydropower unit in East Kalimantan is economically feasible.

Generally, Shop houses in urban area appear dominantly, because it is very rational in term of economic and financial such as 'cost and benefit analysis', is that absolutely right? These believed is a kind of simplification of the main issues in term of modernist and materialistic philosophy, since the local culture and the local architecture has been totally denied. A number of method has been applied to found and to identified local urban vernacular architecture. One among them is research on shop houses which socially adaptable with individual life of modern society but also accommodate the social aspect of local traditional life. This research basically is using qualitative method and focused on genius loci in shop houses in urban secondary cities in Sumatera Utara, where local culture and local architecture is still dominant. In this research Brastagi city in Karo regency will be posed as a study case. There is the main hypothesis on the spread of shop houses into the urban secondary urban cities because the shop houses have the great potential to make an adaptation with local culture and local architecture. In fact, the problems in this study is very wide, consequently, although research focused on architecture, other discipline has to be discussed namely philosophy and anthropology. With these method, the research revealing why the local peoples can adapt themselves socially and culturally with the shop houses. A number of research has focused on genius loci by using qualitative methods in order to find genius loci in architecture of Urban Shop Houses in Karo.
