Condensed matter systems that simultaneously exhibit superconductivity and ferromagnetism are rare due the antagonistic relationship between conventional spin-singlet superconductivity and ferromagnetic order. In materials in which superconductivity and magnetic order is known to coexist (such as some heavy-fermion materials), the superconductivity is thought to be of an unconventional nature. Recently, the conducting gas that lives at the interface between the perovskite band insulators LaAlO3 (LAO) and SrTiO3 (STO) has also been shown to host both superconductivity and magnetism. Most previous research has focused on LAO/STO samples in which the interface is in the (001) crystal plane. Relatively little work has focused on the (111) crystal orientation, which has hexagonal symmetry at the interface, and has been predicted to have potentially interesting topological properties, including unconventional superconducting pairing states. Here we report measurements of the magnetoresistance of (111) LAO/STO heterostructures at temperatures at which they are also superconducting. As with the (001) structures, the magnetoresistance is hysteretic, indicating the coexistence of magnetism and superconductivity, but in addition, we find that this magnetoresistance is anisotropic. Such an anisotropic response is completely unexpected in the superconducting state, and suggests that (111) LAO/STO heterostructures may support unconventional superconductivity. Heterointerfaces of SrTiO3 with other transition metal oxides make up an intriguing family of systems with a bounty of coexisting and competing physical orders. Some examples, such as LaAlO3/SrTiO3, support a high carrier density electron gas at the interface whose electronic properties are determined by a combination of lattice distortions, spin-orbit coupling, defects, and various regimes of magnetic and charge ordering. Here, we study electronic transport in mesoscale devices made with heterostructures of SrTiO3 sandwiched between layers of SmTiO3, in which the transport properties can be tuned from a regime of Fermi-liquid like resistivity (ρ ∝ T2) to a non-Fermi liquid (ρ ∝ T5/3) by controlling the SrTiO3 thickness. In mesoscale devices at low temperatures, we find unexpected voltage fluctuations that grow in magnitude as T is decreased below 20 K, are suppressed with increasing contact electrode size, and are independent of the drive current and contact spacing distance. Magnetoresistance fluctuations are also observed, which are reminiscent of universal conductance fluctuations but not entirely consistent with their conventional properties. Candidate explanations are considered, and a mechanism is suggested based on mesoscopic temporal fluctuations of the Seebeck coefficient. An improved understanding of charge transport in these model systems, especially their quantum coherent properties, may lead to insights into the nature of transport in strongly correlated materials that deviate from Fermi liquid theory. Optimization of coating parameters is important in the machining process, as an optimized coating layer enhances efficient machining result by providing high wear resistance, saving time and effort, reducing cost, increasing productivity and leading to extend tool life for better surface finish. In terms of tool wear resistance, tools with suitable film coating are forty times better than uncoated tools. Cutting tools are usually coated by Titanium Nitride (TiN), since it has properties such as resistance to wear and hardness resulting in increased cutting performance. Genetic algorithms (GAs) belong to the powerful artificial intelligence optimization family of evolutionary algorithm-based metaheuristic techniques. Since their inception, they have been successfully applied in numerous areas of industrial sectors as material design, tools coating and cutting, alloy design, and so on. In this research work, predicting thin film coating thickness of titanium nitride (TiN) on tungsten carbide (WC) inserts is presented. First, (WC) inserts were coated by TiN in different conditions using Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), and the surface profilometer was used to measure thickness of the WC coated specimens. Second, Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was used to generate the objective function which represents the process parameters and coating thickness. Third, using a fitness function model, GAs were established to optimize the thickness value of TiN layer with respect to changes in three process parameters, namely Nitrogen gas pressure (N2), Argon gas pressure (Ar), and Turntable Speed (TT). Finally, for performance measurement, three real experimental tests were carried out in terms of Prediction Interval (PI) and Residual Error (e) to validate the RSM model. The actual coating thickness of validation data fell within the 95% (PI) and the (e) values percentage were very low. Reporting-Guidelines in Medicine play an important role in promoting the quality of reports in health-related research. For instance, a poorly reported research may induce misinterpretation and inappropriate clinical settings. Basically, three major issues regarding Reporting-Guidelines in Medicine has to be addressed: (1) the existence of lots of reporting guidelines covering a broad spectrum of medical research increases the difficulties when reporting a medical research because it may not be clear which guidelines are applicable, or if all related guidelines are considered; (2) most guideline developers have not described how their guidance was developed, consequently tracking guidelines and features for evaluation, or even for correcting, may be not possible; (3) few guideline developers have evaluated the effectiveness of their guidance, then the real value that the guideline brings to reporting the research is not assured. Hence, we propose a solution to these three issues based on the Model-View-Controller Evolutionary Acquisition Interdisciplinary Research Project Management (MVC EA-IRPM) that is simultaneously a strategy and a web system for the development and management of reporting guidelines.

At the Unit Laka Lantas Polres Lhokseumawe determining accident-prone areas on roads in Lhokseumawe still using manual systems. Determination of accident-prone areas are less effective because the police Unit Laka Lantas Polres Lhokseumawe just using the data of the last year and had to repeatedly calculate manually accident-prone areas based on the number of human casualties. In this study the system implementation CUSUM method (Cummulative Summary) to determine the accident-prone areas designed using the web-based programming language PHP. In this system there are three processes to determine areas prone to accidents, the accident rate calculations based on the weighted severity, blacksite calculations using the Z-Score method for determining areas prone to accident blackspots and calculations using the CUSUM method to determine the critical points of an accident. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Police Unit Laka Lantas Polres Lhokseumawe years 2009-2013.

Quadratic Assignment Problem (QAP) has been a very popular problem to be solved among researchers due to its practical applications. Several variants of QAP have been proposed by researchers in the past in order to reflect the real situations of QAP. One of the real problems of QAP is related with facilities which are required to be assigned to certain locations due to its function. In solving this problem, a fixed assignment has to be made thus allowing for the complexity of the problem to be reduced. Hence, this study introduces Quadratic Assignment Problem with Fixed Assignment (QAPFA) with the objective to minimize the assignment cost between the facility and location. This assignment takes into account the flow and distance between facility and location. QAPFA represents the real-world situation of the problem especially in dealing with specific requirement of some facilities to specific locations. Dataset of QAPFA is introduced and is solved using branch and bound approach. As for validation, the results of QAPFA are compared with QAP in terms of objective function and running time. The computational results show that the solution quality of QAPFA is lower when compared with the QAP, while the running time for QAPFA is lower than the QAP. Since the complexity of the problem is reduced by fixing the assignment, thus there is possibility that QAPFA has lower quality than QAP due to the fixed assignment. Nevertheless, in terms of running time QAPFA is better than QAP. It can be concluded that this problem reflect the real problem and practical to be used.

The recognition of Intellectual Capital as a source of competitive advantage and differentiation element for organizations requires an application of new management strategies that include this feature. Considering the importance of the Accounting Information System (AIS) in organizations, the research has the main objective to investigate the contributions of accounting as Management Information System in management of Intellectual Capital in an organization. Therefore, it was adopted a single case study as research strategy, applied in a Brazilian industry of consumption goods, on the market for over 85 years. The results obtained in the documentary analysis, questionnaires, interviews and literature show that the Accounting Management Information System (AMIS) contributes to the management of Intellectual Capital. In the investigated organization, AMIS is widely used and shows similarities with the specifications found in the literature, possessing the ability of adaptation to receive indicators or variables that enable the management of Intellectual Capital. It was found that the incorporation of the variables of Intellectual Capital in AMIS could be accomplished by adopting the method proposed by López-Ruiz and Nevado-Pena, that uses both traditional financial indicators and indicators of Intellectual Capital, not conflicting with the traditional AMIS, but complementing it. Inserting variables of Intellectual Capital in AMIS also allows uniformity of understanding on the subject by all company managers. © 2016 IEEE.

In spite of Anderson’s theorem1, disorder is known to affect superconductivity in conventional s-wave superconductors2–11. In most superconductors, the degree of disorder is fixed during sample preparation. Here we report measurements of the superconducting properties of the two-dimensional gas that forms at the interface between LaAlO3 (LAO) and SrTiO3 (STO) in the (111) crystal orientation, a system that permits in situ tuning of carrier density and disorder by means of a back gate voltage Vg. Like the (001) oriented LAO/STO interface12–15, superconductivity at the (111) LAO/STO interface can be tuned by Vg. In contrast to the (001) interface, superconductivity in these (111) samples is anisotropic, being different along different interface crystal directions, consistent with the strong anisotropy already observed other transport properties at the (111) LAO/STO interface16,17. In addition, we find that the (111) interface samples "remember" the backgate voltage VF at which they are cooled at temperatures near the superconducting transition temperature Tc, even if Vg is subsequently changed at lower temperatures. International standards such as ETSI SmartM2M and oneM2M have defined a client-server model as the common service architecture for IoT/M2M systems. Moreover, the IoT/M2M servers are normally provisioned in a cloud environment. This paper proposes a highly scalable architecture for all such cloud-based IoT/M2M systems. The uniqueness of our architecture is the incorporation of a Master Node in the cloud that is aware of system resources and incoming traffic so that it not only can dynamically decide load balancing policies but also proactively react to scalability needs. When compared with other cloud implementations without such a Master Node, our proposed system achieves faster response time and lower energy consumption.
