TTM is a type of multivariate public key cryptosystem. In 2007, the inventor of TTM proposed two new instances of TTM to resist the existing attack, in particular, the Nie et al attack. The two instances are claimed to achieve a security of 2 109 against Nie et al attack. In this paper, we show that the instance I is still insecure, and in fact, it do not achieve a better design in the sense that we can find a ciphertext-only attack utilizing the First Order Linearization Equations while for the previous version of TTM, only Second Order Linearization Equations can be used in the beginning stage of the previous attack. Different from previous attacks, we use an iterated linearization method to break the instances I. For any given valid ciphertext, we can find its corresponding plaintext within 2 31 F 2 to power of 8 -computations after performing once for any public key a computation of complexity less than 2 44 . Our experiment result shows we have unlocked the lock polynomials after several iterations, though we do not know the detailed construction of lock polynomials.

Automatic repeat-request (ARQ) protocols for two-user cooperative diversity system employing Alamouti space-time coding are investigated in this paper. A whole cooperative transmit frame of the original cooperative system consists of three sub-frames. According to different feedback schedules in a transmit frame at the destination, two basic ARQ protocols, namely post-cooperating and pre-cooperating, are proposed and analyzed. We show that both proposed ARQ protocols can improve the throughput in two-user cooperative system. Pre-cooperating protocol yields 50% gains in users' throughput than post-cooperating protocol if both users have high user-destination average received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the destination. Nevertheless, if both of user-destination average received SNRs are low, post-cooperating protocol is more effective than pre-cooperating protocol. Proposed protocols provide useful basic tools for designing more complicated ARQ protocols. Finally, simulation results verify our analysis.

Existing digital rights management (abbr. DRM) approaches lack a flexible fine-grained digital rights transfer policy, also could not guarantee the trustworthy distribution and enforcement of the transferable rights policy by using DRM agent. First, descriptions of extensible ODRL-based rights transfer policy were presented to complete OMA REL. Then, we introduced a remote attestation mechanism among entities, such as RI and DRM agent, based on trusted computing platform in order to implement trusted distribution and enforcement of the policy, also mainly proposed trustworthy distribution protocols of the rights object and transfer, as well as a trusted policy enforcement protocol. Final, the approach is made comparison with existing DRM schemes as to several functionality aspects on transferable rights granularity, restricted sharing, temporal limitation, trust of DRM agent. A conclusion is drawn that the proposed scheme is not restricted within local domain environment, and accomplishes fine-grained rights transfer and contents sharing between users without direct participations of rights issuer or local domain manager.

Kernel approach has been employed to solve classification problem with complex distribution by mapping the input space to higher dimensional feature space. However, one of the crucial factors in the kernel approach is the choosing of kernel parameters which highly affect the performance and stability of the kernel-based learning methods. In view of this limitation, this paper adopts the eigenvalue stability bounded margin maximization (ESBMM) algorithm to automatically tune the multiple kernel parameters for kernel-based LDA methods. To demonstrate its effectiveness, the ESBMM algorithm has been extended and applied on two existing kernel-based LDA methods. Experimental results show that after applying the ESBMM algorithm, the performance of these two methods are both improved.

Scientific applications rely heavily on floating-point arithmetic and, therefore, are affected by the precision and implementation of floating-point operations. Although the computers we use are IEEE compliant, this only assures the same representation of floating-point numbers;it does not guarantee that floating-point operations will be performed in the same way on all computers. As a result the same program run on different computers may yield different results. This paper is a first step in understanding the reason for this, in particular, different results for the execution of the application Charmm on different computers. We report on our use of a well-known test suite, IeeeCC754, to evaluate IEEE 754 compliance across a wide range of heterogeneous computers with different architectures, operating systems, precisions, and compilers. © 2007 ACM.

A common method for GUI testing is the capture and replay (CR) technique. While the commonly used of CR technique can not be used until an application under test (AUT) is completely developed. In this paper we propose a specification-driven approach to test menu-based Java GUI programs as an alternative to the CR technique. We introduce a GUI-event test specification language based on XML from which an automated test engine is generated. The popularity of XML as a scripting language is ease of use and its standard format. Along with our visual test scripts editor have made writing a test script using our proposed method is easy task. Beside the ability to test AUT before being completely developed, we have implemented another visual module that can generate the test specification file for an already existing AUT by using only the executable file of the program (.class). The engine generates GUI events and captures its responses automatically to verify the results of the test cases, which are written to a test log file. This engine supports the menu-based GUIs that became very popular these days in programs interfaces.

This paper is concerned with compositional specification of services using UML 2 collaborations, activity and interaction diagrams. It addresses the problem of realizability: given a global specification, can we construct a set of communicating state machines whose joint behavior is precisely the specified one? We approach the problem by looking at how collaboration behaviors may be composed using UML activity diagrams. We classify realizability problems from the point of view of each composition operator, and discuss their nature and possible solutions. This brings a new look at already known problems: we show that given some conditions, some problems can already be detected at an abstract collaboration level, without needing to look into detailed interactions.

In this paper, the need for the construction of multiple input-double output (MIDO) space-time block codes (STBCs) is discussed, concentrating on the case of four transmitters for simplicity. Above the trivial method, i.e. switching off the extra layers in the usual multiple input-multiple output (MIMO) setting, two smarter yet simple MIDO construction methods are proposed. The use of these general methods is then demonstrated by building explicit, sphere decodable codes using two different cyclic division algebras (CDAs). We verify by computer simulations that the newly proposed methods perform extremely well as opposed to the trivial construction.

It is known that for temporal languages, such as first-order LTL, reasoning about constant (time-independent) relations is almost always undecidable. This applies to temporal description logics as well: constant binary relations together with general concept subsumptions in combinations of LTL and the basic description logic ALC cause undecidability. In this paper, we explore temporal extensions of two recently introduced families of 'weak' description logics known as DL-Lite and EL. Our results are twofold: temporalisations of even rather expressive variants of DL-Lite turn out to be decidable, while the temporalisation of EL with general concept subsumptions and constant relations is undecidable.
