Underground pumped storage power plant(UPSP)is an innovative concept for space recycling of abandoned *** realization requires better understanding of the dynamic performance and durability of reservoir *** paper conducted ultrasonic detection,split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)impact,mercury intrusion porosimetry(MIP),and backscatter electron observation(BSE)tests to investigate the dynamical behaviour and microstructure of sandstone with cyclical dry-wet damage.A coupling FEM-DEM model was constructed for reappearing mesoscopic structure *** results show that dry-wet cycles decrease the dynamic compressive strength(DCS)with a maximum reduction of 39.40%,the elastic limit strength is reduced from 41.75 to 25.62 *** sieved fragments obtain the highest crack growth rate during the 23rd dry-wet cycle with a predictable life of 25 cycles for each rock *** pore fractal features of the macropores and micro-meso pores show great differences between the early and late cycles,which verifies the computational statistics analysis of particle *** numerical results show that the failure patterns are governed by the strain in pre-peak stage and the shear cracks are *** dry-wet cycles reduce the energy transfer efficiency and lead to the discretization of force chain and crack fields.

the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm is a famous metaheuristic technique that has been successfully applied in various optimization issues. It mimics the foraging conduct of ants to locate the shortest path among meals assets and their colony. Recently, ACO has been increasingly more applied for provider composition in multi-cloud environments. This involves the composition of offerings from different cloud carriers to satisfy the service necessities of a person. By way of using ACO, services can be correctly selected and composed from a couple of carriers, considering elements including cost, excellent, and availability. ACO has proven promising outcomes in enhancing the overall performance and reliability of carrier composition in multi-cloud environments, making it a precious technique in todays tremendously distributed computing landscape. © 2024 IEEE.

In this article, we describe a method for determining a person's real age based on voice recognition. We seek to contribute to the realm of age group classification not reliant on text by investigating voice feature analysis, making use of accessible voice audio datasets, and employing a prototype classification model. Additionally, we aim to explore the initial phase of voice-based age group classification to enhance the customization of interventions. © 2023 IEEE.

Ensemble learning integrates many learners to achieve better performance, however, it can increase the complexity dramatically. Redundant learners should be pruned to reduce ensemble complexity while allowing for increased accuracy. There are two common ways to achieve this, which include selecting the optimal training space and the optimal trained learners. This study contributes to reducing redundant learners by selecting the optimal training space using annealing-based optimization. The optimal training space was defined by 1) measuring the similarity between training spaces (clusters) and 2) searching for the best set of training spaces by minimizing the similarity between the selected training spaces. The proposed method was tested on 10 datasets from the UCI repository and compared to five state-of-The-Art random subspace methods. The results showed that the proposed method could reduce the size of the ensemble while significantly increasing its accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

Delivering project benefits for users and society is a key aspect of success in public IT projects. The traditional success measures, such as time and cost, only tell parts of the story. Furthermore, one of the main challenges in public IT projects is the inability to produce benefits. The objective of the study is to give evidence-based advice in order to contribute to better benefits management. This objective is achieved through increased knowledge about practices within two central aspects: identification and planning of benefits, and how benefit management is practiced during the execution phase of IT projects. The authors collected information about 23 public IT projects both through interviews with project personnel and by reviewing project documents. These information sources were then analyzed, using mainly qualitative methods. It was found that most projects had some form of a cost-benefit analysis, but the quality and comprehensiveness of the analyses varied. Furthermore, the interview results suggested that the later use of the cost-benefit analysis in benefit management during the project was less important for benefit management, and that the main purpose of the analysis was to ensure approval of the business case. When asked about benefit management practices during the execution phase of the projects, the interviewees' answers were divided almost equally between "important"and "not important."This applied to both the general practice of benefit management and the use of the benefit plan. Personnel with clear responsibility and sufficient authority to realize benefits was one of the most frequently mentioned features that contributed to the realization of benefits. For the later termination phase and evaluation phase, the findings revealed that projects used few resources to evaluate and document realized benefits. In the current study, a chemiresistive SO2 sensor based on a composite of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and 5, 10, 15, 20-tetra-p-tolyl-21H, 23H-porphine (TPTP) was developed and extensively studied. Improved Hummers methods were used to synthesize graphene oxide (GO), and a thermally heating bottom-up approach was used to reduce GO to rGO. Gold electrodes were thermally coated on the transparent sheet using a thermal evaporator. The composite of rGO/TPTP was synthesized using a simple chemical method. Structural, morphological, spectroscopic, electrical, and optical studies were carried out using X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, Fourier-transfer infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, current–voltage, and UV–vis spectroscopy, respectively. The sensing response of rGO/TPTP for various concentrations of sulfur dioxide (SO2) was investigated in chemiresistive modality. The rGO/TPTP composite chemiresistive sensor displayed exceptional performance, with a consistent response spanning 1 ppm to 10 ppm. It exhibited outstanding repeatability, linearity, stability, and boasted an impressive limit of detection (LOD) of 1 ppm. This LOD is significantly lower than the recommended permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 5 ppm set by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), USA. The sensor based on the rGO/TPTP composite exhibited a very fast response and recovery time of 33 s. and 27 s. respectively.
