This study aims to optimize popular Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models, such as ResNet50, InceptionV4, VGG19, MobileNetV1, MobileNetV2, MobileNetV3 Small, and MobileNetV3 Large, by utilizing the CLAHE (Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization) parameter. This research focuses on the problem of classifying retinal fundus images, which have challenges in analyzing the structure and features of the picture. This study compared the performance of CNN models, which were optimized using the CLAHE method as image pre-processing. The fundus retinal image data used is a publicly available dataset. The optimization process is done by changing the parameters in the CNN model and applying the CLAHE technique to improve image quality before the classification process. The results showed that using the CLAHE parameter significantly contributed to improving the performance of the CNN model in classifying retinal fundus images. Some CNN models optimized with CLAHE produce better accuracy than the unoptimized models. There are also variations in performance between the different models, with some models providing better results in classifying retinal fundus images. This study provides new insights regarding using CLAHE parameters in optimizing the CNN model for retinal fundus image classification problems. The results of this research can be the basis for further development in medical image processing and pattern recognition for more accurate and practical diagnostic applications. © 2023 IEEE.

Today,due to the pandemic of COVID-19 the entire world is facing a serious health *** to the World Health Organization(WHO),people in public places should wear a face mask to control the rapid transmission of *** governmental bodies of different countries imposed that wearing a face mask is compulsory in public ***,it is very difficult to manually monitor people in overcrowded *** research focuses on providing a solution to enforce one of the important preventative measures of COVID-19 in public places,by presenting an automated system that automatically localizes masked and unmasked human faces within an image or video of an area which assist in this outbreak of *** paper demonstrates a transfer learning approach with the Faster-RCNN model to detect faces that are masked or *** proposed framework is built by fine-tuning the state-of-the-art deep learning model,Faster-RCNN,and has been validated on a publicly available dataset named Face Mask Dataset(FMD)and achieving the highest average precision(AP)of 81%and highest average Recall(AR)of 84%.This shows the strong robustness and capabilities of the Faster-RCNN model to detect individuals with masked and un-masked ***,this work applies to real-time and can be implemented in any public service area.

Automated tool wear condition monitoring is essential for ensuring product quality. However, achieving both high detection precision and utilizing edge computing are critical for advancing intelligent manufacturing. Consequently, this article develops a tool wear detection system utilizing edge computing techniques. Firstly, a novel end-to-end ensemble UNet-based model is proposed. Through end-to-end feature fusion training, it effectively addresses the robustness and accuracy issues inherent in single models. Secondly, multiple neural computing sticks are involved to reduce the need for cloud transmission and preserve data privacy, thereby enabling scalability and flexibility in deployment. Experiments demonstrate that mean intersection over union (mIoU) and mean dice coefficient (mDice) in tool wear detection can be improved by over 3% and 2%, respectively. Furthermore, the execution time can be accelerated by a factor of 4. © 2024 ACM.

Digital certificates are digital files that are conventionally used as proof of participation or a sign of appreciation owned by someone. Cryptographic authentication method using digital signatures that are used as confidential evidence and validation of digital certificate ownership. Digital signatures use cryptographic algorithms such as one-way hashes, non-symmetric key cryptography, and symmetric key cryptography. So this study uses the proposed algorithm used, namely SHA-256, DSA & 3DES. The SHA-256 algorithm is used because of its high security, while the DSA algorithm is a special standard for digital signatures with 2 (two) functions, namely signing & verifying, and the last is the 3DES algorithm as double security which guarantees 3 (three) times the encryption process and description. By implementing a digital signature using the SHA256 hash method, the DSA signing & verifying method, and the 3DES cryptographic algorithm, digital certificates can avoid editing threats, and ensure authentication security and validation of the validity of the file, so that it can detect the original digital certificate. In 10 experiments, it is known that the digital signature method with the SHA-256, DSA and 3DES algorithms has an average run time speed of 0.0518186331 seconds for the signing method and 0.1321175146 seconds for the verify method. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper introduces XMeta-OS, a meta-operating system specially designed with Linux as its foundation to unify and optimize resource management for the distributed edge-cloud when dynamic use of GPU resources is possible. This approach offer a new GPU abstraction layer and dynamic edge-cloud allocation model that offer enhanced flexibility and resource utilization over existing systems like Kubernetes and OpenStack. By using likely sensitive data, the model applied cloud-pushed deployment model. XMeta-OS manages computer resources in real-time. Therefore, fulfilling high performance various needs. It allocates CPU and GPU in real-time to workloads requiring massive parallel processing, such as machine learning, scientific simulations, real-time data analytics, and transportation tasks. Fabrication in the laboratory of an edge-cloud environment can help to assess the scalability, fault tolerance and efficiency of the system. It showcases the overall architectural design of XMeta-OS. Changes to the kernel and security solutions for safe and effective distribution are suggested. This article presents the design of the XMeta-OS. The future of XMeta-OS entails usage and testing with which we see latency, energy, computation and other such measurements in labs. XMeta-OS is a solution to cost performance, emerging application, large-scale edge-cloud deployments, and distributed GPU-enabled infrastructures. Pre-trained language models have made significant strides in natural language processing tasks, enabling flexible fine-tuning for downstream applications. However, in few-shot learning scenarios, pre-trained models face challenges related to overfitting due to limited training samples, which hinders their ability to capture data diversity and robustly handle input variations. To overcome these limitations, we propose the Saliency-Augmented Consistency Regularization (SACR) framework, a novel self-training strategy designed to improve few-shot learning performance and robustness. SACR consists of three key components: (1) Saliency-guided Data Perturbation, which uses saliency analysis to identify and perturb words that significantly influence model predictions, generating semantically consistent pseudo-samples;(2) Semantic-equivalent Sample Mining, which employs K-means clustering to select semantically similar samples and prevent semantic shift;and (3) Consistency Training, where regularization ensures consistency between the semantics and prediction distributions of the original and perturbed samples. We conducted extensive experiments on 15 public datasets to evaluate our approach. SACR significantly outperforms strong baseline models and demonstrates superior generalization capabilities compared to state-of-the-art methods, achieving an average 1.0% improvement in classification accuracy. © 2025 IEEE.

Mobile edge cloud (MEC) has emerged as a critical technology for enabling low-latency and real-time mobile device applications. However, an efficient resource allocation framework for improving the user experience in MEC with heterogeneous users is still missing, especially considering the recent sparks of AI-generated content applications. This paper proposes a double-closed-loop online resource allocation (DORA) framework for user experience improvement. This framework employs inner and outer loops to construct the optimal online allocation strategy and recommend a suitable strategy for different types of users, respectively. Based on the DORA framework, we put forth OR2A-HetU, an Online Resource Recommendation and Allocation algorithm for Heterogeneous Users, to solve this resource allocation problem. The OR2A-HetU algorithm proceeds sequentially and can converge to the optimal solution when the time horizon is sufficiently large. The numerical results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the baseline algorithms, and the user complaint rate decreases from 48.8% to 27.5% when the available resources increase. © 2024 IEEE.

Named entity recognition has emerged as a critical step in recognizing, classifying, and extracting the most significant information from unstructured text without human intervention. It is used in information retrieval, conversation systems, machine translation, data mining, and information extraction. However, the Awngi language lacks a NER system due to inadequate datasets. This study combines feature extraction techniques with supervised machine learning algorithms, including support vector machines, Naïve Bayes, and conditional random fields with a grid search algorithm parameter optimization. These supervised machine-learning models often have various hyperparameters that must be tuned to optimize the model's performance by automatically selecting the parameter. Furthermore, the dataset used for training and testing consists of 20,193 annotated Awngi tokens, collected from Amhara Media Corporation, Awngi Telegram, and Facebook pages. The proposed SVM with grid search algorithm approach provided a promising result in ANER with an accuracy of 92% compared with Naïve Bayes, conditional random field, and decision-tree supervised machine learning models. Finally, the experiment results show that the proposed parameter tuning-based model can detect and categorize Awingi-named entities and outperforms the performance accuracy without parameter adjustment. © 2024 IEEE.

Trusting Artificial Intelligence (AI) is controversial since models and predictions might not be fair, understandable by humans, robust against adversaries, or trained appropriately. Existing toolkits help data scientists to create fair, explainable, robust, and transparent Machine and Deep Learning (ML/DL) models. However, tools to quantify AI trustworthiness according to pillars and metrics relevant for heterogeneous scenarios are still missing. This work proposes a novel algorithm that quantifies the trustworthiness level of supervised ML/DL models according to their fairness, explainability, robustness, and accountability. The algorithm is deployed on a Web application to allow the general public to calculate the trustworthiness of their models. Finally, a validation scenario with models classifying cyberattacks demonstrates the applicability of the Web application and algorithm. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.
