Accurate detection of objects in the three-dimensional world is a core problem for autonomous vehicles and ensures the safety of the vehicles. Nevertheless, the complex real world has different degrees of occlusion and night driving conditions, and a lack of detail in images of road scenes in low-light conditions may increase the risk of collisions in autonomous vehicles. And many previous unimodal methods do not solve such problems well. In this paper, we propose PointrendPainting, which fuses image and point cloud data in the early data processing stage. The method exploits the efficient object boundary segmentation effect of Pointrend and fuses LiDAR point clouds to effectively improve the detection of occluded objects. In addition, to solve the problem of night driving safety, we leverage Cycle-Consistent Generative Adversarial Networks (CycleGAN) to generate nighttime road images. Then train the model on the new nighttime KITTI. Our method generally improves 2%-3% over previous work and can run well under nighttime conditions. And simple car class detection accuracy up to 91.77%. © 2023 IEEE.

Optimal Control for Sustainable Intervention in a Coupled Socio-Climatic Model of Air Pollution

In this paper, technological interventions in a simple airshed model of emission propagation coupled with a social model of technology adoption are studied. An optimal control problem is introduced where a central planner aims to balance pollution concentration against intervention costs over an infinite time horizon. Interventions are classified into two types. Preventive interventions promote the adoption of low emission (green) technologies in the underlying population whereas dissipative interventions reduce the concentration of pre-existing pollutants in the air. Next, an infinite-horizon optimal control problem is set up and the notion of optimality is established. Applying Pontryagin's Minimum Principle, a sustainable equilibrium is derived and the existence of its stable manifold is explored. Imposition of green technology reduces both the steady-state pollutant concentration and dissipative Effort simultaneously but the planning variables induce a tradeoff between concentration and dissipative Effort. Lastly, the stable manifolds are simulated concluding with a discussion on policy implications for the system under consideration.

Fusion of Infrared and Visible Images Using Fuzzy Based Siamese Convolutional Network

Traditional techniques based on image fusion are arduous in integrating complementary or heterogeneous infrared(IR)/visible(VS)*** in various kind of features in these images are vital to preserve in the single fused ***,simultaneous preservation of both the aspects at the same time is a challenging ***,most of the existing methods utilize the manual extraction of features;and manual complicated designing of fusion rules resulted in a blurry artifact in the fused ***,this study has proposed a hybrid algorithm for the integration of multi-features among two heterogeneous ***,fuzzification of two IR/VS images has been done by feeding it to the fuzzy sets to remove the uncertainty present in the background and object of interest of the ***,images have been learned by two parallel branches of the siamese convolutional neural network(CNN)to extract prominent features from the images as well as high-frequency information to produce focus maps containing source image ***,the obtained focused maps which contained the detailed integrated information are directly mapped with the source image via pixelwise strategy to result in fused *** parameters have been used to evaluate the performance of the proposed image fusion by achieving 1.008 for mutual information(MI),0.841 for entropy(EG),0.655 for edge information(EI),0.652 for human perception(HP),and 0.980 for image structural similarity(ISS).Experimental results have shown that the proposed technique has attained the best qualitative and quantitative results using 78 publically available images in comparison to the existing discrete cosine transform(DCT),anisotropic diffusion&karhunen-loeve(ADKL),guided filter(GF),random walk(RW),principal component analysis(PCA),and convolutional neural network(CNN)methods.

Biomedical image analysis has been of paramount importance in modern computer vision recently. While up-to-date procedures have notched up success in medical imaging, there is still necessity to optimise the network and the loss function. Motivated by the PiDiNet architecture and the Active Contour methods, we propose a new Attention-PiDi-UNet architecture and a new Focal Active Contour loss. Our proposed method is evaluated on the three popular datasets: the MRI cardiac ACDC dataset (3-D images), the Skin Lesion ISIC 2018 dataset and the PH2 dataset (both in 2-D images). Several experiments have comfirmed our proposed method effectiveness with outstanding segmentation results. © 2022 IEEE.

Internet of Things(IoT) devices are becoming increasingly ubiquitous, and their adoption is growing at an exponential rate. However, they are vulnerable to security breaches, and traditional security mechanisms are not enough to protect them. The massive amounts of data generated by IoT devices can be easily manipulated or stolen, posing significant privacy concerns. This paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of the integration of blockchain and IoT technologies and their potential to enhance the security and privacy of IoT systems. The paper examines various security issues and vulnerabilities in IoT and explores how blockchain-based solutions can be used to address them. It provides insights into the various security issues and vulnerabilities in IoT and explores how blockchain can be used to enhance security and privacy. The paper also discusses the potential applications of blockchain-based IoT(B-IoT) systems in various sectors, such as healthcare, transportation, and supply chain management. The paper reveals that the integration of blockchain and IoT has the potential to enhance the security,privacy, and trustworthiness of IoT systems. The multi-layered architecture of B-IoT, consisting of perception, network, data processing, and application layers, provides a comprehensive framework for the integration of blockchain and IoT *** study identifies various security solutions for B-IoT, including smart contracts, decentralized control, immutable data storage,identity and access management(IAM), and consensus mechanisms. The study also discusses the challenges and future research directions in the field of B-IoT.

A highly sensitive and selective nitrogen dioxide (NO2) sensor has been developed using reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/5-(4-Methoxycarbonylphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenyl-21H,23H-porphine (MCPTPP) composite. The rGO was prepared by thermal reduction of graphene oxide (GO), which was synthesized via an improved Hummer’s method. Using a drop-casting technique, the rGO/MCPTPP composite was deposited on an Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) flexible electrode. Various rGO/MCPTPP composites were developed by varying MCPTPP concentrations. A range of characterization tools confirmed the successful synthesis of the materials. The rGO/MCPTPP_1:3 composite exhibited high sensitivity, rapid response, and a recovery time of 31s. and 81s. respectively when exposed to 250 ppm NO2 at room temperature (RT). The sensor demonstrated good repeatability, excellent 60-day stability, and linearity from 50 to 500 ppm of NO2 concentration. The developed flexible chemiresistive sensor displayed excellent selectivity for NO2 among all the tested gases. The significant enhancement in NO2 sensing performance is attributed to the synergistic effect between rGO and MCPTPP. This work highlights the potential of the rGO/MCPTPP composite for sensitive and selective chemiresistive detection of NO2, making it promising for environmental monitoring and chemical industry applications. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Bat algorithm(BA)is an eminent meta-heuristic algorithm that has been widely used to solve diverse kinds of optimization *** leverages the echolocation feature of bats produced by imitating the bats’searching *** faces premature convergence due to its local search *** of using the standard uniform walk,the Torus walk is viewed as a promising alternative to improve the local search *** this work,we proposed an improved variation of BA by applying torus walk to improve diversity and *** *** Computerized Bat Algorithm(MCBA)approach has been examined for fifteen well-known benchmark test *** finding of our technique shows promising performance as compared to the standard PSO and standard *** proposed MCBA,BPA,Standard PSO,and Standard BA have been examined for well-known benchmark test problems and training of the artificial neural network(ANN).We have performed experiments using eight benchmark datasets applied from the worldwide famous machine-learning(ML)repository of *** results have shown that the training of an ANN with MCBA-NN algorithm tops the list considering exactness,with more superiority compared to the traditional *** MCBA-NN algorithm may be used effectively for data classification and statistical problems in the future.
