All existing coflow scheduling algorithms compute dynamic-rate schedules that change the rates of flows during transmission. In this paper, we make a crucial finding: although dynamically adjusting the rates of flows could lead to a better coflow completion time (CCT) in theory, it would introduce additional pressures on the congestion control mechanism in the underlying network, which result in poor CCT in practice. This difference between theoretical CCT and practical CCT is further exacerbated in wide-area networks, where the topology does not provide any bisection guarantee as data center networks do. To this end, we designed a fixed-rate coflow scheduling policy called FSCO. Although in theory, the best fixed-rate schedule is usually suboptimal, it keeps the in-flight traffic relatively steady, reducing the risk of triggering congestion control. The core of FSCO is an efficient scheduling algorithm based on the classic network utilization maximization (NUM) framework. We implement a prototype of FSCO and evaluate its performance extensively using real-world topologies and coflow traces. Experimental results show that the total CCT reduces up to 30% compared to baselines while yielding up to 12× speedups compared to the solver. © 2023 IEEE.

This article discusses Blockchain and Generative AI in healthcare, including their uses, difficulties, and solutions. Blockchain technology improves EHR security, privacy, and interoperability, while smart contracts streamline supply chain management and administrative procedures. Blockchain verifies and secures IoT data, improving medical care and treatment, according to case studies. Generative AI systems like ChatGPT have transformed healthcare by personalizing therapy, diagnostics, and predictive analytics. AI systems can examine massive databases to diagnose diseases early, anticipate dangers, and personalize therapies. By providing timely information, boosting treatment adherence, and giving continuous support, AI-powered virtual health assistants have enhanced patient involvement. Generative AI has additionally enhanced medical research and drug development, cutting the time and expense of introducing new medicines. Generative AI and Blockchain provide safe patient data storage, high-quality AI training datasets, and efficient healthcare operations. Scalability, energy usage, and interoperability issues remain. Scalable Blockchain designs and standardized data integration and exchange protocols are suggested by this study. Massive computing tasks of various applications have been generated in 6G space-air-ground integrated networks, and need to be transmitted securely and reliably. Nevertheless, the mobility of satellites and the untrusted nodes bring new challenges to the routing scheme design in low earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks. To improve the system trust and elevate the service quality, this paper proposes a fully distributed trustworthy load-balancing routing scheme for satellite services with a multi-agent dueling double deep Q network (D3QN)-based learning algorithm. Our scheme organizes multiple agents to generate hop-by-hop routes and makes decisions based on the trust value of the nodes, which has good scalability to deploy on various satellite constellations and can meet the trust requirements of the services. Besides, we add a variable delay constraint into the load minimization objective to meet various delay-sensitive satellite quality of service (QoS) requirements. We demonstrate that the proposed scheme dramatically reduces the link queue utilization rate and enhances the system capability of handling delay-sensitive services. The packet loss rate of our scheme is 24% lower than that of the benchmark scheme when the system has 30% malicious nodes. © 2023 IEEE.

Indonesia is an archipelagic country with a coastline of about 81,000 km and has a variety of very large biological and non-biological resources. Position as an archipelagic country with a very wide sea causes each region to have the potential to produce salt. The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in various negative impacts on several fields such as the economy, social, SMEs and community services. Covid-19 has also resulted in a decrease in salt production and farmers also have difficulty marketing it. The research problem is the large number of salt farmers and number of indicators in providing assistance so that a model for measuring performance of salt farmers is needed. This performance measurement model is guided by several indicators, namely land area (K1), production result (K2), business capital (K3), and marketing system (K4). The method used Interval type-2 Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (IVFAHP). IVFAHP is used to determine indicators that most influence measurement of salt farmers. This study aims to build a model for measuring performance of salt farmers to increase economic productivity and ability of human resources to deal with COVID-19 pandemic. The contribution is a group-based decision by developing the fuzzy interval type-2 method with triangular fuzzy number (TFN) one midpoints. The findings from study are that the most influential indicators in dealing with COVID-19 pandemic are business capital and salt marketing. The article describes a new method for malware classification,based on a Machine Learning(ML)model architecture specifically designed for malware detection,enabling real-time and accurate malware *** an innovative feature dimensionality reduction technique called the Interpolation-based Feature Dimensionality Reduction Technique(IFDRT),the authors have significantly reduced the feature space while retaining critical information necessary for malware *** technique optimizes the model’s performance and reduces computational *** proposed method is demonstrated by applying it to the BODMAS malware dataset,which contains 57,293 malware samples and 77,142 benign samples,each with a 2381-feature *** the IFDRT method,the dataset is transformed,reducing the number of features while maintaining essential data for accurate *** evaluation results show outstanding performance,with an F1 score of 0.984 and a high accuracy of 98.5%using only two reduced *** demonstrates the method’s ability to classify malware samples accurately while minimizing processing *** method allows for improving computational efficiency by reducing the feature space,which decreases the memory and time requirements for training and *** new method’s effectiveness is confirmed by the calculations,which indicate significant improvements in malware classification accuracy and *** research results enhance existing malware detection techniques and can be applied in various cybersecurity applications,including real-timemalware detection on resource-constrained *** and scientific contribution lie in the development of the IFDRT method,which provides a robust and efficient solution for feature reduction in ML-based malware classification,paving the way for more effective and scalable cybersecurity measures.

Ceramic membranes are one of the emerging separation technologies with extremely high separation factors. In this work, natural Kaolin clay collected from the western of Algeria was characterized in detail to see its feasibility in a ceramic membrane preparation. The ceramic membrane was prepared by solid-state reactive firing under the slip casting method. The aim is to favor the mullite phase, once the alumina is added a part will be dispersed in the mullite matrix to form a mullite-alumina composite. The mineralogical, morphological structure, particle size distribution, thermal stability, and chemical composition of prepared alumina oxide membrane were carried out using several techniques. They reveal the apparition of two main phases the mullite and the alumina. The kaolin provides the membrane with a well homogeneous morphology, good hydrophobicity, and thermal stability. The obtained membrane presented a mesoporous membrane character that can use successfully for ultrafiltration applications. © 2022 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Industrial internet of things (IIoT) is the usage of internet of things(IoT) devices and applications for the purpose of sensing, processing andcommunicating real-time events in the industrial system to reduce the unnecessary operational cost and enhance manufacturing and other industrial-relatedprocesses to attain more profits. However, such IoT based smart industriesneed internet connectivity and interoperability which makes them susceptibleto numerous cyber-attacks due to the scarcity of computational resourcesof IoT devices and communication over insecure wireless channels. Therefore, this necessitates the design of an efficient security mechanism for IIoTenvironment. In this paper, we propose a hyperelliptic curve cryptography(HECC) based IIoT Certificateless Signcryption (IIoT-CS) scheme, with theaim of improving security while lowering computational and communicationoverhead in IIoT environment. HECC with 80-bit smaller key and parameterssizes offers similar security as elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) with 160-bitlong key and parameters sizes. We assessed the IIoT-CS scheme security byapplying formal and informal security evaluation techniques. We used Realor Random (RoR) model and the widely used automated validation of internet security protocols and applications (AVISPA) simulation tool for formalsecurity analysis and proved that the IIoT-CS scheme provides resistance tovarious attacks. Our proposed IIoT-CS scheme is relatively less expensivecompared to the current state-of-the-art in terms of computational cost andcommunication overhead. Furthermore, the IIoT-CS scheme is 31.25% and 51.31% more efficient in computational cost and communication overhead,respectively, compared to the most recent protocol.

Cyber resilience has become paramount as a transition of maritime systems towards digitization, particularly within DC shipboard microgrids (SMGs). Adopting innovative communication technologies can enhance the resilience of SMGs for stable operation. However, challenges like false data injection and Man-in-The-Middle attacks pose significant threats to SMG operations when integrating these technologies into ship intelligent grids. In this regard, this paper proposes a reliable deep learning (DL) method, especially an Artificial neural network (ANN) with a deep encoder-decoder architecture, for the detection of cyber-intrusions and mitigating their effects, ensuring system control and stability for resilient operation of SMG. Detecting malicious data intrusions is crucial for maintaining optimal grid conditions and preventing disruptions in load dispatch. The proposed method utilizes a fusion of current and voltage data features for comprehensive DL model training, resulting in an adequate level of detection accuracy and providing cybersecurity analysis for SMGs, addressing component-level attacks, and devising defense strategies from aspects of detection, mitigation, and prevention. Furthermore, the deep ANN is fine-tuned with optimal hyperparameters to effectively counter cyberattacks, achieving an enhanced accuracy rate of 97.51% and minimal loss of 0.101%, surpassing conventional machine learning approaches. Rigorous test scenarios are performed to validate the robustness of the proposed method, emphasizing the cyber resilience of DC SMGs for enhanced security and operational integrity.

Identifying different vehicle types can help manage traffic more efficiently, reduce congestion, and improve public safety. This study aims to create a classification model that can recognize vehicle types based on the sound of passing vehicles. To achieve this, a database of raw audio files containing 1763 samples from two sources was assembled. The time-domain signals were converted to a time-frequency representation using the short-time Fourier transform to generate Mel Spectrograms. Mel-frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs) were also generated using the discrete cosine transform. In our experiments we compared these approaches. Since the data was imbalanced we applied online augmentation. Based on the literature review, we chose a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) classifier because it is particularly well suited for analyzing large datasets due to its automatic feature extraction, parameter sharing and sparsity. The results showed that Mel Spectrograms were more effective for audio data preprocessing in this particular use case, achieving the highest accuracy of 0.875 and the highest f1-score of 0.877 compared to MFCCs. © 2025 IEEE Computer Society. technology has influenced the hospitality industry, and the Internet of Things (IoT) has become a focus for sustainability, revenue growth, and problem-solving. This systematic review examined the opportunities and challenges of implementing IoT technology for a sustainable hospitality. Through a thorough analysis of 28 studies, we found that IoT technology has great potential to address sustainability issues in the hospitality industry. However, there are still significant challenges that need to be addressed for the successful implementation of IoT technology in the hospitality industry. Overall, this study highlights the potential of IoT technology to revolutionize the hospitality industry and make it more sustainable. Further research is needed to address the challenges of IoT implementation in the hospitality industry and to evaluate the effectiveness of IoT technology in achieving sustainability goals. © 2023 IEEE.
