In this work, the pre-trained model of the self-attention framework is proposed for single-channel speech separation. Firstly, all layers in the pre-trained self-attention framework are frozen. The model is then retrained through three stages using the scheduling mechanism for learning rates and the layers of the framework are unlocked following the schedule. This way, the model is relearned, enhanced, and updated from previous knowledge. This is an effective way to improve the advanced model performance while significantly reducing the time and cost of a training model. This method is beneficial in applying existing models to perform a similar task or enhancing model performance. In this strategy, the pre-trained system outperforms the non-pre-trained system since the following phases of the model’s training repurpose characteristics extracted through the previously trained early phases. The suggested method is tested and assessed on a conventional dataset. The findings from experiments suggest that the methodology has higher performance than the baseline framework and outperforms current methods for the monaural speech separation task. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

While the wireless word moves towards higher frequency bands, new challenges arises, due to the inherent characteristics of the transmission links, such as high path and penetration losses. Penetration losses causes blockages that in turn can significantly reduce the signal strength at the receiver. Most published contributions consider a binary blockage stage, i.e. either fully blocked or blockage-free links. However, in realistic scenarios, a link can be partially blocked. Motivated by this, in this paper, we present two low-complexity models that are based on tight approximations and accommodates the impact of partial blockage in high-frequency links. To demonstrate the applicability of the derived framework, we present closed-form expressions for the outage probability for the case in which the distance between the center of the receiver plane and the blocker's shadow center follow uniform distribution. Numerical results verify the derived framework and reveal how the transmission parameters affect blockage. © 2024 IEEE.

Email classification is essential to the trouble of email and pattern recognition. Nowadays, a number of unsolicited messages are circulated over the internet. While plenty of machine learning techniques are a success in detecting textual primarily based on totally unsolicited mail, this isn’t the case for messages spams, which can without difficulty avoid those textual-unsolicited mail detection systems. This paper proposes the introduction of MOBGOA constructed on the binary version of the GOA algorithm, for multi-objective selection of features purposes and the wrapper approach of selection of features and purpose of the EGOAMLP algorithm utilized this algorithm as the wrapper classifier. Spam assassin dataset was used to validate the performance of the MOB-EGOAMLP. The analogy-based software effort estimation (SEE) technique assesses the requisite effort aimed at an advanced software project centred upon the whole effort utilized in accomplishing past similar projects. Therefore, it is not often probable aimed at antedating the precise guesses in the software development effort’s estimation. Existent works have established numerous techniques aimed at SEE, however, no consensus regarding the methodology and settings apt to generate precise estimates are attained. Aimed at boosting the accuracy and decrementing the training time, this research methodology presented an ANOVA convolutional neural network (A-CNN) methodology for effort estimation (EE). Initially, the input data are pre-processed, then the features are taken out as of the pre-processed data and the vital features are chosen by employing the linear scaling-based deer hunting optimization (LS-DHO) technique. Then, the weighting value is enumerated aimed at the features selected. Utilizing the modified K-harmonic means (MKHM) algorithm, the similar values are clustered centred on those values. Consequently, the data clustered are inputted to the A-CNN algorithm. It estimates the software project developments’ effort. In an experiential evaluation, the methodology proposed is examined with the existent research methodologies centred upon the accuracy, mean magnitude of relative error (MMRE), PRED, and also execution time metrics. As information develops, many individuals or communities change their habits in obtaining information, which is usually consumed in large quantities, so that sometimes it is difficult to understand, it becomes easier to get information in summary form, so this research applies the text summarization technique to Indonesian language documents using the Flax T5 model. is the development of transformer-based google. The results of this study are the use of parameters from the Flax T5 model that can affect the performance of text summaries, evidenced by the number of epochs 20, batch size 64 producing ROUGE-1 of 0.24. the ROUGE-2 value is 0.3 and the ROUGE-L value is 0.31, while the epoch value is 60, batch size 128 makes ROUGE-1 0.35, ROUGE-2 value is 0.38 and the ROUGE-L value is 0.36. while the epoch value of 100 and the batch size value of 256 produce a ROUGE-1 value of 0.5, a ROUGE-2 value of 0.54, and a ROUGE-L value of 0.55. However, this model has limitations in text lengths of more than 150 because it will make the training time so long that it is highly recommended not to use text lengths that exceed 150 words. © 2023 IEEE.

The role of learning media greatly supports the learning process, increasing motivation and interest in the process. Learning media can also be a place to improve competence optimally through bootcamp training menus and the like with more specific training objectives. The main objective of this study is to develop a gamification-based website to enhance students' preparedness for their Final Competency Test by tackling challenges in comprehending programming absent practical experience. The learning method implemented in this website is case-based learning that integrates dynamic coding activities. The research method uses the Plomp approach with 3 main stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment stage. The trial of the gamification website began with media and content validation followed by small group testing and large group testing. Validation by media and material experts led to the execution of small group trials (95.7%) and large group trials (91.7%), producing exceptionally positive outcomes. The results of the small group test with 12 respondents produced a very suitable value with a score of 95.7 and the large group test with 27 respondents produced a score of 9 1. 7 % with very suitable criteria. This indicates that the web-based platform is highly viable for assisting vocational students in acquiring software development skills, enhancing their preparedness for practical IT positions such as software developers and system analysts. Subsequent study involved the incorporation of gamification, such as computer-supported collaborative learning. © 2024 IEEE.

The rapid but uneven education development worldwide is creating many challenges. Changing conditions and rules in engineering fields such as programming, automation, and electronics are not always followed by changes in education. Employers expect potential candidates to be current with the latest domain competencies and soft skills. The idea is to hire candidates with both knowledge (theoretical and practical) and experience in reflection and collaboration skills. Universities can not always keep up with the development of technology and the adaptation of curricula because change happens so quickly. Therefore, upgrades are needed in engineering education. Focusing education solely on measurable knowledge and results is a simple but often insufficient approach to presenting the entire curriculum within the time frame of a course. Our study of about 150 engineering students in Poland and Norway included the role of students' experiences in hands-on activities, especially labs. The research aimed to determine what students expect, what influences their results, and what complications may arise. The study results show that students often struggle with time management, prioritizing, and understanding practical tasks. In addition, there is a difference between students with and without practical work experience. Our research showed that both groups of students did not achieve all their intended educational goals for various reasons. Therefore, adapting the current teaching system to the student's needs and requirements is important. © 2023 IEEE.

Migrating from Monolithic architecture to Microservices architecture is a major change in how applications are designed, developed, and managed. This paper introduces an innovative approach for Microservices identification. Advanced techniques, including the OpenAI ChatGPT API, BERT embeddings, and community detection algorithms, are used to analyze both the database and the source code to find the optimal service boundaries. One of the most critical processes in the petroleum industry is transporting crude oil and its derivatives. Usually, it is done, due to easiness and economic aspects, through pipelines;several products, such as gasoline, kerosene, naphtha, and liquefied petroleum gas, among others, are moved in batch processes to both distribution and storage centers or transport ships. Since these transport systems transport different products, many works have focused on developing optimization strategies for scheduling these pipelines. That is, strategies that seek to optimize the use of the pipeline by establishing at what time points certain products must be transported. These strategies would be located at the planning level in the automation pyramid. In this work, on the other hand, different control strategies are proposed for a pipeline, but at the operation level. These strategies would be located at the control level, below the planning strategies in the automation pyramid. A pipeline of three pipe sections is modeled to develop the proposed control strategies, and the mathematical model is validated with actual data. The results show that, first, the proposed model approximates the actual behavior of the pipeline quite well and, second, that the combination of PID and feedforward control is an excellent alternative to implement control strategies for the operation of liquid transportation systems through pipelines. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2025.

Pneumonia is one of the lung infections that can be lethal to people. Pneumonia can be diagnosed by conducting an X-ray scan of the human chest. Even though X-ray scanning is straightforward, the process of identifying pneumonia in X-ray data is still difficult to do even by radiologists. Therefore, a computational algorithm is needed that can be used to analyze X-ray image data. The use of Deep Learning (DL) methods for analyzing images has been proven to work well in various cases, especially X-ray data. Based on previous research, the transformer architecture has the advantage of analyzing with a larger receptive area if compared to Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) which have limited kernel size. In this study, we used the Swin transformer in classifying pneumonia diseases through X-ray images. Through the study conducted, the Swin Transformer Architecture is able to provide a fairly good evaluation metric when compared to the use of convolutional neural networks. The Tiny variant of the Swin Transformer architecture is able to provide evaluation metrics with a precision value of 0.870, recall of 0.995, and F1-Score of 0.928. On the other hand, the use of L2 regularization in stage 3 and stage 4 of the Swin Tiny architecture is able to provide a high recall value of 0.997, but the use of L2 regularization does not provide an increase in precision and F1-Score. In biomedical cases that are only concerned with recall values, the use of L2 regularization on Swin Tiny can provide advantages. © 2023 ACM.
