Brain-Machine Interfaces (BMIs) have the potential to allow subjects to brain control (BC) external devices, where their brain signals could be translated to the action of the neuro-prosthesis by reinforcement learning (RL) based decoder. During the BC task, feedback cues are provided to guide subject’s learning. Subjects will adapt the neural signals according to the feedback cues. Concurrently, the RL decoding parameters are adjusted when the subject explores the BC task through trial and error, leading to a co-adaptive process between the subject and the decoder. However, when subjects receive the feedback cues and enhance their learning, the decoder does not actively utilize the feedback cues. If the RL decoder could integrate both neural signals and feedback cues, the training efficiency of the BC task would increase. A major challenge is the different temporal scales of neural signals and feedback cues, making it difficult to integrate them into a single decoder. In this paper, we propose a novel kernel RL decoding method as the first attempt to combine two signals with different temporal scales for RL decoding. The neural signals and the feedback cues comprise the decoding input, which is then projected into individual Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Spaces (RKHSs) respectively. These two RKHSs form a joint feature space, where the action of the neuro-prosthesis could be decoded linearly. We evaluate the proposed method on a simulated brain control cursor-reaching task. Our proposed method is compared with the kernel RL that only uses neural signals as the input. The proposed method has a faster learning speed and better decoding accuracy. Healthcare organizations are bound to face a multitude of challenges;quite special demands are directed to the data processing. This paper proposes a methodology for adopting security management principles in health sector environments, based on the guidelines of the ISO/IEC 27005:2018 standard. The purpose of this methodology is to identify and to assess the risks to which the information environment and the resources that make it up are exposed. A process is defined that identifies and evaluates the risks and the threats within a healthcare information system, with: (i) the identification, (ii) the documentation, (iii) the categorization, and finally (iv) the prioritization of risks arising from the handling, management, and storage of healthcare information. Based on the aforementioned targets, a risk management strategy is developed against the identified risks, while implementing the appropriate controls. The work is carried out in three steps: (i) Identification and Valuation of the Assets that are the subject of a Health Care Information System, (ii) Risk Analysis, and (iii) Risk Management. The outcome of this study can be used to determine the appropriate security controls (administrative, physical, technical, and operational) so as to minimize the risks together with the implementation of the appropriate information security controls. © 2021 ACM.

Recent extensions of Datalog that consider the temporal dimension as a first-class citizen have unlocked the possibility of using its temporal variants, such as DatalogMTL, to model and reason about complex financial domains. Very relevant ones are crypto-activity markets, which, according to the recent Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) of the EU, are described by white papers published by crypto-assets issuers. In particular, the issuers publish semi-structured information about the assets they are willing to offer. Then, the assets are implemented in decentralized finance contexts (i.e., in a blockchain) as executable scripts known as smart contracts. However, these scripts are often criticized for their complexity, which makes them challenging to understand and communicate. On the other hand, in our experience, the availability of a declarative and executable representation of a crypto-activity market fosters a better understanding of that market as well as improved transparency, reproducibility and, as a consequence, increased fairness. These characteristics are of major interest to the financial authorities for example for supervision purposes. In this paper, we study the problem of automatically translating textual descriptions of crypto-assets, written according to the MiCAR specifications, into DatalogMTL programs that represent and capture the respective crypto-activity market. To this end, we opt for a machine translation approach and leverage a Large Language Model. We discuss promising techniques and preliminary experimental results. © 2024 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Aspect Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA) is a sentiment analysis technique of identifying sentiment value towards a specific aspect associated with a given target. However, in some cases, several aspects can be classified into one category group. This is because some words have different spellings, even though they refer to the same aspect. The problem is the dataset for category-based categories is still limited, especially for low-resource languages such as Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian Language). In fact, dataset generation is the most time-consuming step rather than the process of building the classification model. This study aims to build a category-based sentiment analysis model starting from the dataset generation, model classification generation, and model evaluation. The case study in this research is sentiment analysis for the basic skin-care category in Bahasa Indonesia. The dataset is generated from raw data, which is the user's review on the female-daily website (***). We implemented the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) algorithm to extract the aspect from each review and implemented TextBlob library to annotate the polarity of each review. The research uses a Support Vector Machine algorithm to generate a model classification. Based on the research, the LDA can extract and also can group the same aspect into the same category. The support Vector Machine method is a fairly accurate method for conducting sentiment analysis. In this study, the accuracy value of 86.9% for training data and 83.9% for test data from all categories were obtained using the K-Fold Cross Validation evaluation method with 5 folds. © 2022 IEEE.

This study evaluates the effectiveness of Neural Collaborative Filtering (NCF) in enhancing tourism destination recommendation. The researchers employed a methodology encompassing a comprehensive literature review, integration of user preference dataset, and the application of the NCF algorithm. The evaluation utilized MAE and RMSE metrics, demonstrating significant improvement compared to the Neural Network method. The results highlight the superior accuracy and reliability of the NCF-based recommendation system in providing tourism destination recommendation. This study emphasizes the practical significance of implementing NCF, offering a more sophisticated and efficient approach to enhancing user experience. The implication of this research contribute to academic needs and are expected to provide practical benefits for recommendation system in the tourism sector. The researchers elucidate critical differences in the NCF algorithm compared to benchmarks, and the introduction explores gaps in NCF applications for tourism, reinforcing the importance of this study. Experimental results show that the NCF model achieved an MAE of 0.306 and an RMSE of 0.371, outperforming the Neural Network's MAE of 0.794 and RMSE of 0.960, confirming superior predictive accuracy.

Currently, there are various technical solutions as well as methods by which the user’s physiological functions can be obtained. From the point of view of the technical solutions, approaches based on the application of sensors (galvanic skin response, heart rate, temperature, etc.) or the use of a camera for capturing the face and its parts are most often used. The article is devoted to the creation of a system for identifying and classifying the emotional state of the user while maintaining non-invasiveness, which includes an IoT-based (Internet of Things) user interface. It deals with the capture of data about the user and the subsequent evaluation of this data with the help of a web application for visualizing and evaluating the obtained data. The research uses a pulse sensor and a galvanic skin response sensor, which are connected to an Arduino and a computer, for data evaluation. The results of the paper include the design of a portable and affordable device that can be non-invasively attached to the human body and monitor the measured values for a long time. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Ambient radio frequency (RF) powered Internet of Things (IoT) is a promising batteryless system for collecting environmental information for data exchange among devices. Ambient RF energy harvesting technology is most suitable for use in places that are hidden from light sources and are in difficult to reach places for battery replacement. In this paper, a demonstration of IoT sensors powered by ambient RF energy harvesting is presented. The system we have developed provides all key components from antenna, rectifier, power management unit (PMU), microcontroller unit (MCU) to sensing unit. In addition a novel 3-port antenna element for the systems is also described. The experimental results confirm that ambient RF signals can be regarded as an alternative to power supply in the next generation of wireless communications.

The prefrontal cortex(PFC)is a critical non-invasive brain stimulation(NIBS)target for treating ***,the alterations of brain activations post-intervention remain inconsistent and the clinical moderators that could improve symptomatic effectiveness are *** study aim was to systematically review the effectiveness of NIBS on depressive symptoms targeting PFC in functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI)*** our study,we delivered a combined activation likelihood estimation(ALE)meta-analysis and *** November 2020,three databases(PubMed,Web of Science,EMBASE)were searched and 14 studies with a total sample size of 584 were included in the ALE meta-analysis;after NIBS,four clusters in left cerebrum revealed significant activation while two clusters in right cerebrum revealed significant deactivation(P<0.001,cluster size>150 mm3).Eleven studies were statistically reanalyzed for depressive symptoms pre–post active-NIBS and the pooled effect size was very large[(d=1.82,95%CI(1.23,2.40)];significant moderators causing substantial heterogeneity(Chi squared=75.25,P<0.01;I2=87%)were detected through subgroup analysis and univariate *** meta-regression was then conducted accordingly and the model suggested good fitness(Q=42.32,P<0.01).In all,NIBS targeting PFC balanced three core depressive-related neurocognitive networks(the salience network,the default mode network,and the central executive network);the striatum played a central role and might serve as a candidate treatment biomarker;gender difference,treatment-resistant condition,comorbidity,treatment duration,and localization all contributed to moderating depressive symptoms during *** high-quality,multi-center randomized controlled trails delivering personalized NIBS are needed for clinical practice in the future.

The growing interest in location based service and wireless security in WLAN necessitates the development of an effective scheme which can locate an attacker in a WLAN to make him account for his misdemeanors and expel him out of the network. On the other hand, while localization has been an active area of research recently, current research of secure localization mostly focuses on getting correct locations of legitimate users despite the existence of malicious attacks. There is little effort on how to locate an attacker who is equipped with advanced radio technologies to distort traditional localization system's location estimation. To fill in this challenging technical void, in this paper, a novel localization scheme is proposed, called ALD, which can locate the attacker with traditional range-free localization equipments. The main idea here is to use coordination of multiple APs to locate the attacker and optimize the process with a finite horizon discrete Markov decision process (MDP). An approximation algorithm is proposed to pre-compute the MDP efficiently. The solution then can be stored in APs without requiring any strong computation capability and special hardware. The ALD scheme can be supported by IEEE 802.11 and many other wireless network standards.

This research aims to develop an expert system for initial diagnoses of skin diseases in cats using the Decision Tree method. It assists cat owners in identifying skin diseases based on observed symptoms. Data from expert veterinarian drh. Ismi Azima, including various types of cat skin diseases and their symptoms, were used. The research employs 80% training data and 20% testing data to develop the classification model. Testing results indicate the Decision Tree model achieves up to 90% average accuracy in diagnosing cat skin diseases based on 50 datasets. This expert system aids in diagnosis and provides treatment and prevention solutions, beneficial for cat owners, especially in areas with limited veterinary access. In conclusion, this Decision Tree-based expert system effectively provides initial diagnoses of skin diseases in cats with high accuracy.
