Many real life networks present diameter logarithmic with the number of nodes and degree distribution that follow power law. Often these networks have also a modular and self-similar feature and usually associated with topological restrictions-their clustering is low, even zero, and they are almost non-planar. In the paper, we propose a generalized self-similarity growing network model. As the construction is deterministic, we can capture exact analytic expressions for relevant properties of the model including average degree, clustering coefficient, degree distribution, diameter, the number of leaves of every maximumleaf spanning tree. We make a conclusion that it is scale-free and small-world.

We investigate connections between power law degree distribution and cumulative degree distributions of scale-free network models First, we enumerate several classical deterministic network models with scale-free topological structure and analysis the connections between degree distribution and cumulative degree distributions. Second, we apply the random network models to state the connection between power law degree distribution and cumulative degree distributions. Finally, as a further research step, we probe the reasons that make the gaps between them.

We present an example of deterministic network models in an iterative fashion. The network has small-world effect, scale-free topology and high degree of tolerance against random failure. We propose some new parameters for this model in order to further discuss the damage rate,such as collapse-rank, fragile-rank, as well as the edge-cumulative distribution and d-degree cumulative distribution, neighbor degree-average, attracting number. In addition, we compute these parameters for the model.

An improved diagnosis method of technological systems is proposed in this paper that is based on their qualitative colored Petri-net model (Leitold et al. 2014). The proposed diagnosis method can be used when more than one fault occur in the system and if the fault evolves during the operation of the system. In order to make the diagnosis of complex process systems computationally feasible, a structural decomposition method is introduced to reduce the size of their occurrence graphs and to make the diagnosis easier.
