Chronic care manages long-term, progressive conditions, while acute care addresses short-term conditions. Chronic conditions increasingly strain health systems, which are often unprepared for these demands. This study examines the burden of conditions requiring acute versus chronic care, including sequelae. Conditions and sequelae from the Global Burden of Diseases Study 2019 were classified into acute or chronic care categories. data were analysed by age, sex, and socio-demographic index, presenting total numbers and contributions to burden metrics such as Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs), Years Lived with Disability (YLD), and Years of Life Lost (YLL). Approximately 68% of DALYs were attributed to chronic care, while 27% were due to acute care. Chronic care needs increased with age, representing 86% of YLDs and 71% of YLLs, and accounting for 93% of YLDs from sequelae. These findings highlight that chronic care needs far exceed acute care needs globally, necessitating health systems to adapt accordingly. © 2025. The Author(s).

This study presents a novel intraoperative in vivo imaging approach which harnessed Cerenkov luminescence (CL) to detect primary and metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) using clinically approved radiopharmaceuticals. In the mice and swine experiments, the proposed approach effectively improved the effect of CRC surgery. The approach is believed to be promising for utilizing CL in open surgery. Decoupling Approximation Robustly Reconstructs Directed Dynamical Networks

Methods for reconstructing the topology of complex networks from time-resolved observations of node dynamics are gaining relevance across scientific disciplines. Of biggest practical interest are methods that make no assumptions about the properties of the dynamics, and can cope with noisy, short and incomplete trajectories. Ideal reconstruction in such scenario requires an exhaustive approach of simulating the dynamics for all possible network configurations and matching the simulated against the actual trajectories, which of course is computationally too costly for any realistic application. Relying on insights from equation discovery and machine learning, we here introduce decoupling approximation of dynamical networks and propose a new reconstruction method based on it. Decoupling approximation consists of matching the simulated against the actual trajectories for each node individually rather than for the entire network at once. Despite drastic reduction of the computational cost that this approximation entails, we find our method’s performance to be very close to that of the ideal method. In particular, we not only make no assumptions about the properties of the trajectories, but provide strong evidence that our methods’ performance is largely independent of the dynamical regime at hand. Of crucial relevance for practical applications, we also find our method to be extremely robust to both length and resolution of the trajectories and relatively insensitive to noise. We introduce comparisons w.r.t. information between interpretations in paraconsistent description logics and use them to define bisimilarity for such logics. This notion is useful for concept learning in description logics when inconsistencies occur. We give preservation results and the Hennessy-Milner property for comparisons w.r.t. information in paraconsistent description logics. The 2016 edition of the Linked data Mining Challenge, conducted in conjunction with Know@LOD 2016, has been the fourth edition of this challenge. This year's dataset collected music album ratings, where the task was to classify well and badly rated music albums. The best solution submitted reached an accuracy of almost 92:5%, which is a clear advancement over the baseline of 69:38%.

Link-based similarity measures play a significant role in many graph based applications. Consequently, mea- suring node similarity in a graph is a fundamental problem of graph data mining. Personalized PageRank （PPR） and Sim- Rank （SR） have emerged as the most popular and influen- tial link-based similarity measures. Recently, a novel link- based similarity measure, penetrating rank （P-Rank）, which enriches SR, was proposed. In practice, PPR, SR and P-Rank scores are calculated by iterative methods. As the number of iterations increases so does the overhead of the calcula- tion. The ideal solution is that computing similarity within the minimum number of iterations is sufficient to guaran- tee a desired accuracy. However, the existing upper bounds are too coarse to be useful in general. Therefore, we focus on designing an accurate and tight upper bounds for PPR, SR, and P-Rank in the paper. Our upper bounds are designed based on the following intuition： the smaller the difference between the two consecutive iteration steps is, the smaller the difference between the theoretical and iterative similar- ity scores becomes. Furthermore, we demonstrate the effec- tiveness of our upper bounds in the scenario of top-k similar nodes queries, where our upper bounds helps accelerate the speed of the query. We also run a comprehensive set of exper- iments on real world data sets to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of our upper bounds.

Social media can be a double-edged sword for society, either as a convenient channel exchanging ideas or as an unexpected conduit circulating fake news through a large population. While existing studies of fake news focus on theoretical modeling of propagation or identification methods based on machine learning, it is important to understand the realistic mechanisms between theoretical models and black-box methods. Here we track large databases of fake news and real news in both, Weibo in China and Twitter in Japan from different culture, which include their complete traces of re-postings. We find in both online social networks that fake news spreads distinctively from real news even at early stages of propagation, e.g. five hours after the first re-postings. Our finding demonstrates collective structural signals that help to understand the different propagation evolution of fake news and real news. Different from earlier studies, identifying the topological properties of the information propagation at early stages may offer novel features for early detection of fake news in social media. This paper describes components of virtual stand of aircrafts flight simulators designed in the popular program and simulation environment LabVIEW prevalent among electronics and radio-engineers. Virtual flight simulation is realized at the expense of created virtual instruments of navigation tools gyro horizon, altimeter, direction finder. Users screen interface depicts flight path of the aircraft virtual model and also contains control components.

Background: The sustainable development goals (SDGs) aim to end HIV/AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. Understanding the current state of the HIV epidemic and its change over time is essential to this effort. This study assesses the current sex-specific HIV burden in 204 countries and territories and measures progress in the control of the epidemic. Methods: To estimate age-specific and sex-specific trends in 48 of 204 countries, we extended the Estimation and Projection Package Age-Sex Model to also implement the spectrum paediatric model. We used this model in cases where age and sex specific HIV-seroprevalence surveys and antenatal care-clinic sentinel surveillance data were available. For the remaining 156 of 204 locations, we developed a cohort-incidence bias adjustment to derive incidence as a function of cause-of-death data from vital registration systems. The incidence was input to a custom Spectrum model. To assess progress, we measured the percentage change in incident cases and deaths between 2010 and 2019 (threshold >75% decline), the ratio of incident cases to number of people living with HIV (incidence-to-prevalence ratio threshold <0·03), and the ratio of incident cases to deaths (incidence-to-mortality ratio threshold <1·0). Findings: In 2019, there were 36·8 million (95% uncertainty interval [UI] 35·1–38·9) people living with HIV worldwide. There were 0·84 males (95% UI 0·78–0·91) per female living with HIV in 2019, 0·99 male infections (0·91–1·10) for every female infection, and 1·02 male deaths (0·95–1·10) per female death. Global progress in incident cases and deaths between 2010 and 2019 was driven by sub-Saharan Africa (with a 28·52% decrease in incident cases, 95% UI 19·58–35·43, and a 39·66% decrease in deaths, 36·49–42·36). Elsewhere, the incidence remained stable or increased, whereas deaths generally decreased.
