As the Internet of Things(IoT)continues to expand,incorporating a vast array of devices into a digital ecosystem also increases the risk of cyber threats,necessitating robust defense *** paper presents an innovative hybrid deep learning architecture that excels at detecting IoT threats in real-world *** proposed model combines Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN),Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory(BLSTM),Gated Recurrent Units(GRU),and Attention mechanisms into a cohesive *** integrated structure aims to enhance the detection and classification of complex cyber threats while accommodating the operational constraints of diverse IoT *** evaluated our model using the RT-IoT2022 dataset,which includes various devices,standard operations,and simulated *** research’s significance lies in the comprehensive evaluation metrics,including Cohen Kappa and Matthews Correlation Coefficient(MCC),which underscore the model’s reliability and predictive *** model surpassed traditional machine learning algorithms and the state-of-the-art,achieving over 99.6%precision,recall,F1-score,False Positive Rate(FPR),Detection Time,and accuracy,effectively identifying specific threats such as Message Queuing Telemetry Transport(MQTT)Publish,Denial of Service Synchronize network packet crafting tool(DOS SYN Hping),and Network Mapper Operating System Detection(NMAP OS DETECTION).The experimental analysis reveals a significant improvement over existing detection systems,significantly enhancing IoT security *** our experimental analysis,we have demonstrated a remarkable enhancement in comparison to existing detection systems,which significantly strength-ens the security standards of *** model effectively addresses the need for advanced,dependable,and adaptable security solutions,serving as a symbol of the power of deep learning in strengthening IoT ecosystems amidst the constantly evolving cyber threat *** achievemen

Reference Evapotranspiration(ETo)iswidely used to assess totalwater loss between land and atmosphere due to its importance in maintaining the atmospheric water balance,especially in agricultural and environmental *** estimation of ETo is challenging due to its dependency onmultiple climatic variables,including temperature,humidity,and solar radiation,making it a complexmultivariate time-series *** machine learning and deep learning models have been applied to forecast ETo,achieving moderate ***,the introduction of transformer-based architectures in time-series forecasting has opened new possibilities formore precise ETo *** this study,a novel algorithm for ETo forecasting is proposed,focusing on four transformer-based models:Vanilla Transformer,Informer,Autoformer,and FEDformer(Frequency Enhanced Decomposed Transformer),applied to an ETo dataset from the Andalusian *** novelty of the proposed algorithm lies in determining optimized window sizes based on seasonal trends and variations,which were then used with each model to enhance prediction *** custom window-sizing method allows the models to capture ETo’s unique seasonal patterns more ***,results demonstrate that the Informer model outperformed other transformer-based models,achievingmean square error(MSE)values of 0.1404 and 0.1445 for forecast windows(15,7)and(30,15),*** Vanilla Transformer also showed strong performance,closely following the *** findings suggest that the proposed optimized window-sizing approach,combined with transformer-based architectures,is highly effective for ETo *** novel strategy has the potential to be adapted in othermultivariate time-series forecasting tasks that require seasonality-sensitive approaches.

The Geometric Structure of Topic Models

Topic models are a popular tool for clustering and analyzing textual data. They allow texts to be classified on the basis of their affiliation to the previously calculated topics. Despite their widespread use in research and application, an in-depth analysis of topic models is still an open research topic. State-of-the-art methods for interpreting topic models are based on simple visualizations, such as similarity matrices, top-term lists or embeddings, which are limited to a maximum of three dimensions. In this paper, we propose an incidence-geometric method for deriving an ordinal structure from flat topic models, such as non-negative matrix factorization. These enable the analysis of the topic model in a higher (order) dimension and the possibility of extracting conceptual relationships between several topics at once. Due to the use of conceptual scaling, our approach does not introduce any artificial topical relationships, such as artifacts of feature compression. Based on our findings, we present a new visualization paradigm for concept hierarchies based on ordinal motifs. These allow for a top-down view on topic spaces. We introduce and demonstrate the applicability of our approach based on a topic model derived from a corpus of scientific papers taken from 32 top machine learning venues. The integration of artificial intelligence, particularly ChatGPT, in education presents both promising opportunities and notable challenges. Through a systematic review employing the PRISMA method, this article analyzed 45 references published of ChatGPTs impact on educational environments. While ChatGPT offers teachers a versatile learning tool, aiding in tasks, such as lesson planning and content generation, concerns regarding academic integrity and over-reliance on technology have emerged. Ethical considerations, including the potential for cheating in assignments and exams, highlight the need for clear guidelines and ethical frameworks to govern its use. Institutions or related organizations must address issues, such as plagiarism and data privacy, to ensure responsible integration of ChatGPT. Nurturing a growth mindset among educators and learners is crucial to effectively navigate ChatGPT integration. By aligning strategies to leverage ChatGPTs' capabilities while mitigating risks, educators, institutions, and policymakers can enhance the quality of education in an evolving technological landscape. This article contributes to a deeper understanding of ChatGPTs' implications in education, providing insights into its advantages and challenges. Informed decision making and proactive measures are essential to harness ChatGPTs potential for transformative impact while safeguarding educational integrity and ethics. © 2024 IEEE.

Global food security is seriously threatened by plant diseases and can cause severe economic losses to farmers. Automated detection of plant diseases using computer vision and machine learning techniques has become a popular research area due to its potential to provide faster and more accurate results than traditional methods. In this research, we propose a plant disease detection model based on transfer learning using the MobileNetV2. We evaluate the suggested method on a dataset consisting of 38 various kinds of diseases across 14 different plants. Our experimental findings indicate that the proposed method has a typical accuracy of 91.98% and outperforms additional cutting-edge CNN models for plant disease detection. The experimental findings support the suggested approach's validity and show that it effectively detects plant diseases. We also have put forth the evaluation metrics to investigate the model. The suggested method has potential applications in real-world scenarios and can help farmers detect diseases in their crops at an early stage, allowing them to take timely action to minimize crop losses. © 2024 The Authors. Tracking a person with an onboard camera is a very difficult and perhaps technically impossible if one camera is used. In this regard, real-life projects use a series of cameras to achieve the task. The advent of camera installed drone technology has made it possible for researchers and designers to resolve the tracking issues of a single or multiple stagnant devices. This paper presents a method that makes it possible for a drone to recognize hand gestures as control mechanism and follow the person who control it. Furthermore, the method assists in drone object detection using an integrated depth camera that provides video capturing. The OpenCV and Tello were used in this project. A stabilized depth video is for use with current person trackers like the OpenCV tracker. The estimated Tello pose deduced from vision to stabilize the depth image by warping it to a virtual-static camera. This method allows the Tello to obtain not only the tracked person's position and orientation but also their full body pose, which can then be used, for instance, to recognize hand gestures and alter the Tello's behavior. This work has a potential of contributing or enhancing cutting-edge applications such as hands-free photography and videography. © 2024 IEEE.

The concept of privacy-by-design has gained considerable attention in the wake of legal requirements that software systems should fulfill. The interconnected knowledge on privacy concepts, legal requirements, and software development artifacts required to implement this concept can be a major burden for organizations. To address this challenge, we propose a knowledge graph-based Exploratory Search system to help organizations complete privacy engineering tasks. We identify major requirements of such systems and develop an Exploratory Search prototype built on privacy engineering knowledge that integrates different information sources. While still preliminary, this work serves as a foundation for future research on integrating privacy knowledge into software development and demonstrates the potential of Exploratory Search systems to support the cognitive process in privacy tasks such as privacy threat identification. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

This paper proposes a method for predicting and identifying the position of a submersible using a hybrid neural network algorithm and the Monte Carlo method. Initially, we employ a hybrid neural network algorithm to establish a predictive model for ocean current parameters based on data from the Ionian Sea detection station. Additionally, we analyze the forces acting on the submersible and its motion to construct a physical model for the submersible's vertical movement. By integrating the effects of these two models, we can predict the three-dimensional trajectory of the submersible. Furthermore, to accurately analyze the potential location of the submersible after an accident, we utilize the Monte Carlo method and infinitesimal method, employing the K-means clustering algorithm to analyze the initial deployment points of the device. Based on the probability distribution, we select appropriate search methods. As indicated by the established probability function model, the probability of the submersible being covered decreases over time. The search results serve as adjustment parameters for the probability function model;the more search results obtained, the higher the probability of locating the submersible is. © 2024 IEEE.

In agile Cyber-physical Production System (CPPS) engineering, multi-disciplinary teams work concurrently and iteratively on various CPPS engineering artifacts, based on engineering models and Product-Process-Resource (PPR) knowledge, to design and build a production system. However, in such settings it is difficult to keep track of (i) the effects of changes across engineering disciplines, and (ii) their implications on risks to engineering quality, represented in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). To tackle these challenges and systematically co-evolve FMEA and PPR models, requires propagating and validating changes across engineering and FMEA artifacts. To this end, we design and evaluate a Multi-view FMEA+PPR (MvFMEA+PPR) meta-model to represent relationships between FMEA elements and CPPS engineering assets and trace their change states and dependencies in the design and validation lifecycle. We evaluate the MvFMEA+PPR meta-model in a feasibility study on the quality of a screwing process from automotive production. The study results indicate the MvFMEA+PPR meta-model to be more effective than alternative traditional approaches. © 2022 IEEE.
