Correctly identifying an individual's social context from passively worn sensors holds promise for delivering just-in-time adaptive interventions (JITAIs) to treat social anxiety disorder. In this study, we present results using passively collected data from a within-subject experiment that assessed physiological response across different social contexts (i.e, alone vs. with others), social phases (i.e., pre- and post-interaction vs. during an interaction), social interaction sizes (i.e., dyadic vs. group interactions), and levels of social threat (i.e., implicit vs. explicit social evaluation). Participants in the study (N = 46) reported moderate to severe social anxiety symptoms as assessed by the Social Interaction Anxiety Scale (≥34 out of 80). Univariate paired difference tests, multivariate random forest models, and follow-up cluster analyses were used to explore physiological response patterns across different social and non-social contexts. Our results suggest that social context is more reliably distinguishable than social phase, group size, or level of social threat, but that there is considerable variability in physiological response patterns even among these distinguishable contexts. Implications for real-world context detection and deployment of JITAIs are discussed. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, we investigate an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assistant air-to-ground communication system, where multiple UAVs form a UAV-enabled virtual antenna array (UVAA) to communicate with remote base stations by utilizing collaborative beamforming. To improve the work efficiency of the UVAA, we formulate a UAV-enabled collaborative beamforming multi-objective optimization problem (UCBMOP) to simultaneously maximize the transmission rate of the UVAA and minimize the energy consumption of all UAVs by optimizing the positions and excitation current weights of all UAVs. This problem is challenging because these two optimization objectives conflict with each other, and they are non-concave to the optimization variables. Moreover, the system is dynamic, and the cooperation among UAVs is complex, making traditional methods take much time to compute the optimization solution for a single task. In addition, as the task changes, the previously obtained solution will become obsolete and invalid. To handle these issues, we leverage the multi-agent deep reinforcement learning (MADRL) to address the UCBMOP. Specifically, we use the heterogeneous-agent trust region policy optimization (HATRPO) as the basic framework, and then propose an improved HATRPO algorithm, namely HATRPO-UCB, where three techniques are introduced to enhance the performance. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can learn a better strategy compared with other methods. This paper proposes a deep reinforcement learning based on the warehouse environment, the mobile robot obstacle avoidance Algorithm. Firstly, the value function network is improved based on the pedestrian interaction. We can learn to obtain the relative importance of the current state and the historical trajectory state as well as the joint impact on the robot's obstacle avoidance strategy. Secondly, the reward function of reinforcement learning is designed based on the spatial behaviour of pedestrians, and the robot is punished for the state where the angle changes too much, so as to achieve the requirement of comfortable obstacle avoidance. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the deep reinforcement learning-based mobile robot obstacle avoidance algorithm in the warehouse environment in the complex environment of the warehouse are verified through simulation experiments. © 2024 IEEE.

By a case study approach, the paper analyzes a project and information ecosystem of the Clinical Research environment within a Medical School at a University. There are two types of data sources, a medical information system based on a transactional database for recording patients and serving as the basis of nursing and treatments of patients and medical and other medical IoT systems (like ECGs, etc). There exists neither data Warehouse solutions nor any other data collection solutions dedicated to utilizing data Science methods and tools. The emerging technologies provide opportunities for synergy between the traditional data Warehouse and the most recent data Lake approaches. Gifted children are able to learn in a more advanced way than others, probably due to neurophysiological differences in the communication efficiency in neural pathways. Topological features contribute to understanding the correlation between the brain structure and intelligence. Despite decades of neuroscience research using MRI, methods based on brain region connectivity patterns are limited by MRI artifacts, which therefore leads to revisiting MRI morphometric features, with the aim of using them to directly identify gifted children instead of using brain connectivity. However, the small, high-dimensional morphometric feature dataset with outliers makes the task of finding good classification models challenging. To this end, a hybrid method is proposed that combines tensor completion and feature selection methods to handle outliers and then select the discriminative features. The proposed method can achieve a classification accuracy of 93.1%, higher than other existing algorithms, which is thus suitable for the small MRI datasets with outliers in supervised classification scenarios.

Log files are a significant piece of records that once properly analyzed, can yield helpful information. The usage of cloud services for log analysis is almost inevitable due to the greater rate of production and quantity of hardware and sensors that produce logs. The idea is to adopt machine learning mechanisms to "understand" what such a test suite's "anticipated" behavior is. This implies the system needs to be able to learn the difference among a Hadoop log file that contains a threat that does not really, based on past patterns. Many programs that really can effectively monitor the Hadoop cluster have been developed. The bulk of these tools collect relevant information from every cluster node and send it to be processed. The majority of these diagnostic tools were post-execution techniques commonly. This paper gives an experimental evaluation of the various log analysts used in Hadoop for error monitoring and detection. MapReduce is configured using these files. The algorithms were tested on a parser set of labelled log files, and their efficiency was assessed by looking for abnormal events in the Hadoop log files and executing an experimentation using the methods. The algorithms used were Term Frequency Inverse Document Frequency, Random Forest, and Local Outlier Factor. Later, the clustering with K-Means and Principal component analysis is utilized to extract certain relevant details from the data, monitor groups of bits of data to find aberrant events. The Term Frequency Inverse Document Frequency strategy surpassed the other two techniques in predicting threat occurrences in data, according to the findings. The findings would help developers in locating abnormal occurrences without having to go through the Hadoop log file row by row individually. The framework generates events that behave in a different way than the rest of such events in the log and leads the mechanism to fail to work. © 2022 The Authors

In today’s age of digital interconnectedness, understanding and addressing the nuances of social cybersecurity have become paramount. Unlike its broader counterparts, information security and cybersecurity, which are focused on safeguarding all forms of sensitive data and digital systems, social cybersecurity places its emphasis on the human and social dimensions of cyber threats. This field is uniquely positioned to address issues such as different social cybersecurity attacks like cyberbullying, cybercrime, spam, terrorist activities, and community detection. The significance of detection methods in social cybersecurity is underscored by the need for timely and proactive responses to these threats. In this comprehensive review, we delve into various techniques, attacks, challenges, potential solutions, and trends within the realm of detecting social cybersecurity attacks. Additionally, we explore the potential of readily available public datasets and tools that could expedite research in this vital domain. Our objective is not only to tackle the existing challenges but also to illuminate potential pathways for future exploration. Through this survey, our primary focus is to provide valuable insights into the rapidly evolving landscape of social cybersecurity. The patterns of material accumulation in buildings and infrastructure accompanied by rapid urbanization offer an important,yet hitherto largely missing stock perspective for facilitating urban system engineering and informing urban resources,waste,and climate ***,our existing knowledge on the patterns of built environment stocks across and particularly within cities is limited,largely owing to the lack of sufficient high spatial resolution *** study leveraged multi-source big geodata,machine learning,and bottom-up stock accounting to characterize the built environment stocks of 50 cities in China at 500 m fine-grained *** per capita built environment stock of many cities(261 tonnes per capita on average)is close to that in western cities,despite considerable disparities across cities owing to their varying socioeconomic,geomorphology,and urban form *** is mainly owing to the construction boom and the building and infrastructure-driven economy of China in the past ***’s urban expansion tends to be more“vertical”(with high-rise buildings)than“horizontal”(with expanded road networks).It trades skylines for space,and reflects a concentration-dispersion-concentration pathway for spatialized built environment stocks development within cities in *** results shed light on future urbanization in developing cities,inform spatial planning,and support circular and low-carbon transitions in cities.

Towards Communication-efficient Federated Learning via Sparse and Aligned Adaptive Optimization

Adaptive moment estimation (Adam), as a Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) variant, has gained widespread popularity in federated learning (FL) due to its fast convergence. However, federated Adam (FedAdam) algorithms suffer from a threefold increase in uplink communication overhead compared to federated SGD (FedSGD) algorithms, which arises from the necessity to transmit both local model updates and first and second moment estimates from distributed devices to the centralized server for aggregation. Driven by this issue, we propose a novel sparse FedAdam algorithm called FedAdam-SSM, wherein distributed devices sparsify the updates of local model parameters and moment estimates and subsequently upload the sparse representations to the centralized server. To further reduce the communication overhead, the updates of local model parameters and moment estimates incorporate a shared sparse mask (SSM) into the sparsification process, eliminating the need for three separate sparse masks. Theoretically, we develop an upper bound on the divergence between the local model trained by FedAdam-SSM and the desired model trained by centralized Adam, which is related to sparsification error and imbalanced data distribution. By minimizing the divergence bound between the model trained by FedAdam-SSM and centralized Adam, we optimize the SSM to mitigate the learning performance degradation caused by sparsification error. Additionally, we provide convergence bounds for FedAdam-SSM in both convex and non-convex objective function settings, and investigate the impact of local epoch, learning rate and sparsification ratio on the convergence rate of FedAdam-SSM. Experimental results show that FedAdam-SSM outperforms baselines in terms of convergence rate (over 1.1× faster than the sparse FedAdam baselines) and test accuracy (over 14.5% ahead of the quantized FedAdam baselines).
