Skin cancer detection with MobileNet-based transfer learning and MixNets for enhanced diagnosis

Skin cancer poses a significant health hazard, necessitating the utilization of advanced diagnostic methodologies to facilitate timely detection, owing to its escalating prevalence in recent years. This paper proposes a novel approach to tackle the issue by introducing a method for detecting skin cancer that uses MixNets to enhance diagnosis and leverages mobile network-based transfer learning. Skin cancer has diverse forms, each distinguishable by its structural attributes, morphological characteristics, texture, and coloration. The pressing demand for accurate and efficient diagnostic instruments has spurred the investigation of novel techniques. The present study utilizes the ISIC dataset, comprising a validation set of 660 images and a training set of 2637 images. Moreover, the research employs a combination of MixNets and mobile network-based transfer learning as its chosen approach. Transfer learning is a technique that leverages preexisting models to enhance the diagnostic capabilities of the proposed system. Integrating MobileNet and MixNets allows for utilizing their respective functionalities, resulting in a dual-model methodology that enhances the comprehensiveness of skin cancer diagnosis. The results demonstrate impressive performance metrics, with MobileNet and MixNets models, and the proposed approach achieves an outstanding accuracy rate of 99.58%. The above findings underscore the efficacy of the dual-model method in effectively discerning between benign and malignant skin lesions. Moreover, the present study aims to examine the potential integration of emerging technologies to enhance the accuracy and practicality of diagnostics within real-world healthcare settings. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

The publication of scientific results together with the underlying experiments is an important source of further research. In 2016, the "FAIR Guiding Principles for scientific data management and stewardship" were published, in which the authors postulate a series of guidelines for improving the (F)indability, (A)ccessibility, (I)nteroperability and (R)eusability of digital information (FAIR). The point (I)nteroperability deals with the prerequisites for the reusability of digital objects. The central point here is the need to have a common understanding of the meaning of digital objects. This understanding is provided by formal languages of knowledge representation (ontologies), which describe the actual data. These descriptions of data are also known as metadata. As part of our current work at the Institute for Automation and applied computer science (IAI) at KIT, we are implementing novel concepts and technologies for the sustainable handling of research data using high-quality metadata. As part of this work, we plan to develop a software tool that can be used to enrich data with suitable metadata and thus automate the process of making research results available. A key requirement is that the tool must be independent of the underlying domain. In order to be able to deal with data from any domain, we have opted for a model-driven approach in which an ontology, and possibly other platform-specific information, are input for a software generator, which then generates an (interactive) tool for specifying the metadata and linking it to the data itself. The generated tool includes the complete software stack, starting with a user interface, programmatic APIs for connecting additional application logic, and a persistence component. How these individual layers are realized is not specified, but defined by the mapping rules of the software generator, which also opens up the possibility of generating and evaluating different variants of the software. © 2024 by SCITEPRESS

Cyberbullying,a critical concern for digital safety,necessitates effective linguistic analysis tools that can navigate the complexities of language use in online *** tackle this challenge,our study introduces a new approach employing Bidirectional Encoder Representations from the Transformers(BERT)base model(cased),originally pretrained in *** model is uniquely adapted to recognize the intricate nuances of Arabic online communication,a key aspect often overlooked in conventional cyberbullying detection *** model is an end-to-end solution that has been fine-tuned on a diverse dataset of Arabic social media(SM)tweets showing a notable increase in detection accuracy and sensitivity compared to existing *** results on a diverse Arabic dataset collected from the‘X platform’demonstrate a notable increase in detection accuracy and sensitivity compared to existing methods.E-BERT shows a substantial improvement in performance,evidenced by an accuracy of 98.45%,precision of 99.17%,recall of 99.10%,and an F1 score of 99.14%.The proposed E-BERT not only addresses a critical gap in cyberbullying detection in Arabic online forums but also sets a precedent for applying cross-lingual pretrained models in regional language applications,offering a scalable and effective framework for enhancing online safety across Arabic-speaking communities.

The hardware and software of a computer are controlled by its operating system (OS), which performs essential tasks such as input and output processing, file and memory management, and the management of peripheral devices such as disk drives and printers. Application software refers to programs designed for specific purposes, these applications, often freely available and open source, contribute to the rising number of downloads. In the third quarter of 2022, combined downloads from the Apple App Store and Google Play Reached an estimated 35.3 billion. However, the prevalence of insecurity in these applications and technologies heightens the potential for cybercrimes. Protection against unauthorized intruders is crucial in identifying malicious applications. Machine learning (ML) serves as a promising avenue for detecting malware attacks, offering potential solutions to bolster cybersecurity measures. We propose a novel approach utilizing ML to enhance malware detection accuracy by segmenting datasets into distinct groups. Our research employs supervised ML techniques on the CICMaldroid2020 dataset, which includes comprehensive information such as intent actions, permissions, and sensitive APIs. The dataset was partitioned into four groups, each containing 150 features, and analyzed across four experiments to distinguish between attack and benign classes. Our proposed model demonstrated exceptional performance, with the random forest algorithm achieving an accuracy of 98.6% and a precision of 98.75%. These results highlight the effectiveness of our segmentation approach and its significant contribution to advancing malware detection in Android applications, offering a promising direction for future cybersecurity solutions. © 2024 by the authors of this article.

A multi-modal deep learning system for Arabic emotion recognition

Emotion analysis is divided into emotion detection, where the system detects if there is an emotional state, and emotion recognition where the system identifies the label of the emotion. In this paper, we provide a multimodal system for emotion detection and recognition using Arabic dataset. We evaluated the performance of both audio and visual data as a unimodal system, then, we exposed the impact of integrating the information sources into one model. We examined the effect of gender identification on the performance. Our results show that identifying speaker’s gender beforehand increases the performance of emotion recognition especially for the models that rely on audio data. Comparing the audio-based system with the visual-based system demonstrates that each model performs better for a specific emotional label. 70% of the angry labels were predicted correctly using the audio model while this percentage was less using the visual model (63%). The accuracy obtained for the surprise class was (40.6%) using the audio model while it was (56.2%) using the visual model. The combination of both modalities improves accuracy. Our final result for the multimodal system was (75%) for the emotion detection task and (60.11%) for emotion recognition task and these results are among the top results achieved in this field and the first which focus on Arabic content. Specifically, the novelty of this work is expressed by exploiting deep learning and multimodal models in emotion analysis and applying it on a natural audio and video dataset for Arabic speaking persons. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

Recently, big data analysis has been a very active research area with a significant impact on industrial and scientific domains. Thus, the security of big data provides the conditions for securing and monitoring cloud applications that need protect highly sensitive data hosted in cloud platforms. Nevertheless, the big data security issues have become increasingly problematic, leading organizations to restrict the utilization of cloud services. The existing security methods have revealed several issues, including a weakness of data security and Inaccuracy in data analysis, inefficiencies in performance and dependence on a third party. To address these issues, this study proposed a simpler technique as known a triple-data encryption standard (3DES) through providing the long keys sizes in Data Encryption Standard (DES) to protect the privacy of data against the potential attack in cloud computing environments. The experimental results confirm the efficiency of the proposed method in enhancing the secure of big healthcare data storage in cloud computing environment with less computational time compared to the existing method of Intelligent Framework for Healthcare Data Security. In conclusion, the proposed 3DES is recommended as a candidate encryption and decryption method in healthcare applications in cloud computing environments. © 2024 Slovene Society Informatika. Machine learning(ML)is increasingly applied for medical image processing with appropriate learning *** applications include analyzing images of various organs,such as the brain,lung,eye,etc.,to identify specific flaws/diseases for *** primary concern of ML applications is the precise selection of flexible image features for pattern detection and region *** of the extracted image features are irrelevant and lead to an increase in computation ***,this article uses an analytical learning paradigm to design a Congruent Feature Selection Method to select the most relevant image *** process trains the learning paradigm using similarity and correlation-based features over different textural intensities and pixel *** similarity between the pixels over the various distribution patterns with high indexes is recommended for disease ***,the correlation based on intensity and distribution is analyzed to improve the feature selection ***,the more congruent pixels are sorted in the descending order of the selection,which identifies better regions than the ***,the learning paradigm is trained using intensity and region-based similarity to maximize the chances of ***,the probability of feature selection,regardless of the textures and medical image patterns,is *** process enhances the performance of ML applications for different medical image *** proposed method improves the accuracy,precision,and training rate by 13.19%,10.69%,and 11.06%,respectively,compared to other models for the selected *** mean error and selection time is also reduced by 12.56%and 13.56%,respectively,compared to the same models and dataset.

In this work, a novel methodological approach to multi-attribute decision-making problems is developed and the notion of Heptapartitioned Neutrosophic Set Distance Measures (HNSDM) is introduced. By averaging the Penta-Partitioned Neutrosophic Distance Measures under particular conditional criteria, the suggested technique ranks the options. Additionally, we explore the fundamental characteristics of HNSDM and provide several illustrative theorems. The Heptapartitioned Neutrosophic Set Distance Measures are formulated based on the Hepta Neutrosophic Set.
