In computer vision,convolutional neural networks have a wide range of *** representmost of today’s data,so it’s important to know how to handle these large amounts of data *** neural networks have been shown to solve image processing problems ***,when designing the network structure for a particular problem,you need to adjust the hyperparameters for higher *** technique is time consuming and requires a lot of work and domain *** a convolutional neural network architecture is a classic NP-hard optimization *** the other hand,different datasets require different combinations of models or hyperparameters,which can be time consuming and *** approaches have been proposed to overcome this problem,such as grid search limited to low-dimensional space and queuing by random *** address this issue,we propose an evolutionary algorithm-based approach that dynamically enhances the structure of Convolution Neural Networks(CNNs)using optimized *** study proposes a method using Non-dominated sorted genetic algorithms(NSGA)to improve the hyperparameters of the CNN *** addition,different types and parameter ranges of existing genetic algorithms are *** study was conducted with various state-of-the-art methodologies and *** have shown that our proposed approach is superior to previous methods in terms of classification accuracy,and the results are published in modern computing literature.

Malware detection is one of the critical tasks of cybersecurity, especially considering the growing popularity of mobile devices. The integrity and security of mobile ecosystems rely on the capacity to identify malware quickly and precisely, as security hacks against these devices become increasingly frequent. Due to the requirement for massive volumes of data aggregation, traditional centralized machine learning (ML) techniques for malware detection face challenges with data sharing, computational complexity, and privacy. This research addresses these challenges by proposing a novel model, called "CNN-Fed", which is based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) with Federated Learning (Fed). The main goal of this work is to create a global classifier for Android malware detection that is highly accurate and does not require centralised data aggregation. Using four benchmark datasets—Drebin, Malgenome, Kronodroid, and Tuandromd—the CNN-Fed model is trained across many clients in a federated setting under the suggested architecture. Then we use multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methodology to evaluate the number of clients and number of rounds. We use two MCDM methods such as Entropy methodology to compute the criteria weights and the CoCoSo methodology to rank the alternatives. We use the interval-valued neutrosophic sets (IVNSs) to deal with uncertainty and vague information. We use five criteria such as accuracy, F1-score, precision, recall, and FP and six of alternatives refer to the number of clients and number of rounds. The results show the best alternative has a larger number of clients and rounds. © 2025, University of New Mexico. All rights reserved.

Credit card fraud is a growing problem nowadays and it has escalated during COVID-19 due to the authorities in many countries requiring people to use cashless transactions. Every year, billions of Euros are lost due to credit card fraud transactions, therefore, fraud detection systems are essential for financial institutions. As the classes’ distribution is not equally represented in the credit card dataset, the machine learning trains the model according to the majority class which leads to inaccurate fraud predictions. For that, in this research, we mainly focus on processing unbalanced data by using an under-sampling technique to get more accurate and better results with different machine learning algorithms. We propose a framework that is based on clustering the dataset using fuzzy C-means and selecting similar fraud and normal instances that have the same features, which guarantees the integrity between the data features. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management.

The world has witnessed various scientific disciplines’ rapid growth and advancement, leading to groundbreaking discoveries and advances in multiple fields in recent years. One such field that has gained significant attention, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, is the application of graph theory techniques in studying the spread and mitigation of the virus. In this paper, we delve into the intricacies of graph theory and its utilization in analyzing COVID-19, shedding light on the innovative approaches researchers worldwide employ. Also, the study evaluates the various implementation of graph theories in spreading and controlling the virus using diverse datasets. The researchers retrieved several works in the COVID-19 and graph theory field from digital databases. However, studies deducted that GT approaches, algorithms and techniques offer insights into transmission hotspots, spread dynamics in social, control and mobility networking, vaccination optimization, evaluation of interventions and epidemic prediction, among other valuable findings. Damage of the blood vessels in retina due to diabetes is called diabetic retinopathy(DR).Hemorrhages is theﬁrst clinically visible symptoms of *** paper presents a new technique to extract and classify the hemorrhages in fundus *** normal objects such as blood vessels,fovea and optic disc inside retinal images are masked to distinguish them from *** masking blood vessels,thresholding that separates blood vessels and background intensity followed by a newﬁlter to extract the border of vessels based on orienta-tions of vessels are *** masking optic disc,the image is divided into sub-images then the brightest window with maximum variance in intensity is *** the candidate dark regions are extracted based on adaptive thresholding and top-hat morphological *** are extracted from each candidate region based on ophthalmologist selection such as color and size and pattern recognition techniques such as texture and wavelet *** different types of Support Vector Machine(SVM),Linear SVM,Quadratic SVM and Cubic SVM classiﬁer are applied to classify the candidate dark regions as either hemor-rhages or *** efﬁcacy of the proposed method is demonstrated using the standard benchmark DIARETDB1 database and by comparing the results with methods in *** performance of the method is measured based on average sensitivity,speciﬁcity,F-score and *** results show the Linear SVM classiﬁer gives better results than Cubic SVM and Quadratic SVM with respect to sensitivity and accuracy and with respect to speciﬁcity Quadratic SVM gives better result as compared to other SVMs.

Optimizing therapy and rehabilitation for Parkinson's disease (PD) requires early identification and precise evaluation of the illness's course. However, there is disagreement about the best way to use gait analysis to categorize the severity of motor symptoms and identify early-stage Parkinson's disease. The precision of machine learning (ML) models in identifying early and intermediate stages of Parkinson's disease was assessed in this study. Six ML models are used in this study for the prediction of PD. Different metrics are used to evaluate ML models such as accuracy, precision, recall, f1-score, and AUC score. Then we propose a multi-criteria decision-making methodology (MCDM) to evaluate the ML models and select the best one. Two MCDM methods are used such as CRITIC method to compute the criteria weights and the TOPSIS method to rank the alternatives. These methods are used under the bipolar neutrosophic sets (BNSs) to deal with uncertainty information. The results show the support vector machine is the best ML model for the prediction of PD. © 2025, University of New Mexico. All rights reserved.

Suicide risk assessment using word-level model with dictionary-based risky posts selection

Suicide is a serious issue around the world and is a leading cause of death in US. In the past 20 years, the suicide rate has seen a significant increase of 35%. With the rapid development of information technology, more and more people begin to use social media to share their inner feelings. It enables social media data to be widely used for research on suicide risk assessment. However, not all social media posts are suicide related. Previous research addressed this problem with post-level attention mechanism. However, post-level attention mechanism may not find relevant suicide posts. This problem becomes more serious in the feature-based post embeddings since each post is converted into a single vector to serve as the input of the model, resulting in the loss of word-level information during training. In this paper, we addressed this problem by introducing a novel word-level model including a post-selectin layer as a solution. Firstly, we utilize a suicide keyword dictionary to identify risky posts that may be missed by the post-level attention mechanism. We then convert the words in the risky posts into word embeddings and use self-attention to generate the post embeddings for the risky posts. Finally, we pass the post embeddings to a multilayer perceptron to classify the suicide risk. We also demonstrate that the FScore used in previous studies can be reduced to a function of accuracy, which does not reflect the model performance in predicting imbalanced datasets. Therefore, we additionally adopt macro F1 score as the evaluation function. Experiment results show that our model not only outperforms previous studies in FScore performance, but also achieves macro F1 Score a nearly 4% improvement compared to previous studies. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2023.

Robust steganographic approach using generative adversarial network and compressive autoencoder

Nowadays, social media applications and websites have become a crucial part of people’s lives;for sharing their moments, contacting their families and friends, or even for their jobs. However, the fact that these valuable data are transferred via the Internet and open channels, which are vulnerable to attacks and espionage, requires using defense methods to improve the security of data transmission. Recently, the progress of Deep Learning (DL) inspired researchers to use it with security methods such as steganography, the art of hiding secret data in unrelated content. DL and steganography combined enhanced the hiding properties, especially in the Coverless Image Steganography (CIS) methods. In this paper, we propose a Compressive Coverless Image Steganography (CCIS) model, which is a generated-based CIS, to improve the capacity and robustness of Steganography. This model uses the compressive autoencoder to compress the message, thus increasing the capacity, and uses the Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) to generate a stego image from the compressed vector, thus enhancing concealment ability, besides using a regression model and optimization method to extract the data. Another version was designed to enable sending binary messages by replacing the compressive autoencoder network with a robust mapping rule. Experiments show that the proposed model could improve the characteristics of Steganography. Furthermore, the proposed model could extract binary messages with 256 bits from attacked stego images with 99% recovery accuracy. Thus, capacity and robustness were enhanced using our model with both images and text as secret messages. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

This work aimed to enhance Python programming education by developing a learning game that utilizes gamification techniques. The study focused on Mathayom Suksa 1 (7th grade in the U.S. education system) students who often face challenges in understanding complex programming concepts due to traditional teaching methods. The developed game incorporated gamification elements like points, rewards, leaderboards, and time constraints to create an engaging and interactive learning environment. The study compared students' learning achievements before and after using the game and assessed their satisfaction levels. The findings indicated that the gamified learning game significantly improved students' learning outcomes, with post-test scores (M = 12.90, SD = 4.27) being notably higher than pre-test scores (M = 7.28, SD = 1.60), t(39) = 11.82, p © 2024 IEEE.
