Unitary designs are essential tools in several quantum information protocols. Similarly to other design concepts, unitary designs are mainly used to facilitate averaging over a relevant space, in this case, the unitary group U(d). While it is known that exact unitary t-designs exist for any degree t and dimension d, the most appealing type of designs, group designs (in which the elements of the design form a group), can provide at most 3-designs. Moreover, even group 2-designs can only exist in limited dimensions. In this paper, we present novel construction methods for creating exact generalized group designs based on the representation theory of the unitary group and its finite subgroups that overcome the 4-design-barrier of unitary group designs. Furthermore, a construction is presented for creating generalized group 2-designs in arbitrary dimensions. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The article describes the procedure for analyzing information resources of the system of dynamic integration of weakly structured data in the web-environment to determine the common features of information resources and identify links between them. Model-based shared resource definitions and language describing the rules of access to resources, examines the process of creating an object adapter defining the common features of the information resources and identify relationships between them using the rules of the method of "black box". The process of determining the structural-dynamic model of the domain Mashup-application is described.

The article describes the design of a system for dynamic integration of weakly structured data using Mash-Up technology. Functional requirements to the system of dynamic data integration based on Mash-Up technology are characterized. An algorithm for constructing an ontological model of all integral systems and an algorithm for obtaining information resources from an integral system is proposed. The architecture and principles of the Shares and Discounts Mashup dynamic integration of weakly structured data are considered.

We investigate the extendibility problem for Brauer states, focusing on the symmetric two-sided extendibility and the de Finetti extendibility. By employing the representation theory of the unitary and orthogonal groups, we provide a general recipe for finding the (n, m)-extendible and n-de Finetti-extendible Brauer states. In the two-sided case we describe the special symmetry that only appears for (n, n)-extendible symmetric states. From the concrete form of the commutant to the diagonal action of the orthogonal group, we explicitly determine the set of parameters for which the Brauer states are (1, 2)-, (1, 3)- and (2, 2)-extendible in any dimension d. Using the branching rules from SU(d) to SO(d), we obtain the set of n-de Finetti-extendible Brauer states in low dimensions, and analytically describe the n → ∞ limiting shape for d = 3. Finally, we derive some general properties pertaining to the extendibility of Werner, isotropic and Brauer states. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper discusses the structural organization of the background monitoring system (BMS) of the transboundary UNESCO World Heritage Site 'Beech forests of the Carpathians and ancient beech forests of Germany' using actual data and information from Gorgany Nature Reserve in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. The features of the structure and functions of background monitoring of the protected natural resources, forests and wildlife of Gorgany Nature Reserve is based on modern methods of collecting and processing of digital data, implementation of the principles of Internet of Things and cloud technologies, combined with GPS-systems, sensor networks with the use of optical and fiber-optic telecommunication channels. The information technology of the background monitoring system is based on figurative cluster models of monitoring objects according to theoretical principles of statistical, correlatory, spectral, cluster, logic-statistical and entropy analysis. © 2020 IEEE.

In the work intelligent system of a smart house is developed, which is designed to create from any house, office, or building a smart room. The best solutions and tools were chosen to develop the system, which allowed us to create a fast, optimized, reliable and easy-To-use system with a comfortable mobile and web-based user interface. The optimal parameters for deployment of the system (both hardware and software) were investigated and determined, and its operation in the planned mode, without any interruptions of the system operation. Upon completion of the design and development of the system, an analysis of the product was conducted, based on a control example, which made it possible to verify that the system was operating in accordance with the planned requirements, and provides access to all of the intended functionality. © 2019 IEEE.

Polynomial speedup in Torontonian calculation by a scalable recursive algorithm

Evaluating the Torontonian function is a central computational challenge in the simulation of Gaussian Boson Sampling (GBS) with threshold detection. In this work, we propose a recursive algorithm providing a polynomial speedup in the exact calculation of the Torontonian compared to state-of-the-art algorithms. According to our numerical analysis the complexity of the algorithm is proportional to N1.06912N/2 with N being the size of the problem. We also show that the recursive algorithm can be scaled up to HPC use cases making feasible the simulation of threshold GBS up to 35 − 40 photon clicks without the needs of large-scale computational capacities. © 2021, CC BY-SA.

The paper focuses on the role of version redundancy, which increases with the expansion of critical applications and the tightening of their functional safety requirements. International standards governing these requirements have already fixed the importance of version redundancy to counter common cause failures in safety-related systems. The problem of hidden faults inherent in these systems is equally acute, undermining confidence in the fault tolerance of circuit solutions important for functional safety. We suggest that this problem be seen as a growth problem where the system rises to the level of diversification in modes of operation by dividing them into normal and emergency and checkability circuits, but components continue to be stamped at a lower level of replication. Then the solution to the problem is to raise the components to the level of the system by developing their version redundancy. We demonstrate this development for FPGA components with LUT-oriented architecture and offer a method to improve the FPGA-ready project by natural version redundancy of its program code. The method generates a set of program code versions and selects versions that improve the checkability of circuits with respect to constant faults and the trustworthiness of results, respectively, in normal and emergency mode to reduce a set of hidden faults. The method is illustrated by an iterative array multiplier implemented in an FPGA project. Versions are generated, evaluated, and selected using the program developed for this.

The smart clothing as a basis for safe flight for pilots

The article is devoted to the development of a compact, mobile software and hardware complex for monitoring the health of a pilot using an electronics module and a smartphone using mathematical algorithms for data analysis in the form of “Smart Clothes”. Nowadays experts do not have the necessary compact medical devices with the necessary qualities. The analysis of the subject area revealed that this is due to the fact that: Firstly, human health is a variable. Secondly, the existing features of the analysis of various biological signals and their intelligent processing lead to the complexity of creating compact electronics embedded in clothing. In this work, the researchers decided to use four main parameters for assessing the health status of pilots – pulse, saturation, temperature and electrocardiogram. The scientific novelty in the work is the developed method of solving the problems of taking readings from muscles with further obtaining results on a smartphone using a Bluetooth module, thanks to which the system can monitor the state of health in the process of vital activity at any time of the day with minimal dimensions while maintaining the required accuracy.
