Tomato leaf diseases significantly impact crop production,necessitating early detection for sustainable *** Learning(DL)has recently shown excellent results in identifying and classifying tomato leaf ***,current DL methods often require substantial computational resources,hindering their application on resource-constrained *** propose the Deep Tomato Detection Network(DTomatoDNet),a lightweight DL-based framework comprising 19 learnable layers for efficient tomato leaf disease classification to overcome *** Convn kernels used in the proposed(DTomatoDNet)framework is 1×1,which reduces the number of parameters and helps in more detailed and descriptive feature extraction for *** proposed DTomatoDNet model is trained from scratch to determine the classification success rate.10,000 tomato leaf images(1000 images per class)from the publicly accessible dataset,covering one healthy category and nine disease categories,are utilized in training the proposed DTomatoDNet *** specifically,we classified tomato leaf images into Target Spot(TS),Early Blight(EB),Late Blight(LB),Bacterial Spot(BS),Leaf Mold(LM),Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus(YLCV),Septoria Leaf Spot(SLS),Spider Mites(SM),Tomato Mosaic Virus(MV),and Tomato Healthy(H).The proposed DTomatoDNet approach obtains a classification accuracy of 99.34%,demonstrating excellent accuracy in differentiating between tomato *** model could be used on mobile platforms because it is lightweight and designed with fewer *** farmers can utilize the proposed DTomatoDNet methodology to detect disease more quickly and easily once it has been integrated into mobile platforms by developing a mobile application.

Federated Learning (FL) is a revolutionary approach to decentralized machine learning, enabling collaborative model training across multiple nodes without sharing raw data, thereby enhancing privacy. However, FL systems face significant security challenges, including man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks, backdoor injections, label inference attacks, and data/model poisoning. To address these threats, we present Project ALVI: Privacy-Driven Defenses, a comprehensive security framework designed to fortify FL systems. This paper integrates four key components: (1) CodeNexa, a dynamic metric verification mechanism that mitigates MITM attacks by ensuring the integrity of model updates;(2) HydraGuard, a hybrid defense mechanism combining trigger inversion and selective layer finetuning to counter backdoor attacks;(3) Confusional Autoencoders with noise addition and Secure Multi-Party Computation (SMC) to protect against label inference attacks in Vertical Federated Learning (VFL);and (4) SECUNID, an anomaly detection framework that leverages LayerCAM and Autoencoders to identify and neutralize data and model poisoning attacks. Experimental evaluations on the MNIST dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of Project ALVI in maintaining model accuracy while significantly reducing the impact of adversarial threats. The integration of these components into a unified framework offers a robust, scalable, and privacy-driven solution for securing FL systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Supply chains are being used at scale within new industries, mainly in the financial sector and the cyber security risks emerging in this area have been on the rise. Given recent attack scenarios the mitigation strategies taken within these areas are limited. This research paper focuses on the main areas where the risk can be reduced to provide an overall effective solution to reduce the risks. However, there are certain challenges in minimizing the risks associated, such as third-party vendor identification, classifying and securing data, and gathering relevant external threat information. This research utilizes a centralized risk assessment gateway to assess the security level of each third-party vendor. Further, there will be a secure transfer of text and image data once the vendors have been assessed and these will be done in correlation with a zero-trust policy engine where data classification occurs based on unique trust levels. In addition, it will also use machine learning to tailor the external cyber threat feeds to provide valuable insights regarding threat attacks, vulnerabilities, and patches within the sector to gain more granular intelligence and reduce analysis time. The overall solution will serve as a zero-trust approach to mitigate the attacks within the financial fields of the supply chain sector. © 2024 IEEE.

In the recent past, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technology has experienced rapid growth. Although many enterprise companies have implemented VDI systems, previous research has highlighted several critical issues, including data breaches and session hijacking. Security measures identified for such threats were suboptimal, especially for the firms with fewer resources. In this paper, authors combat existing threats to VDI systems with different technologies such as Homomorphic Encryption (HE) for the safe exchange of location data, and the Machine Learning (ML) model is used for real-time log analysis, thereby making it easy to detect some level of anomaly in the complex VDI environments. According to the result, this integrated posture introduces a new and positive dimension in VDI strengthening the security and privacy of data, while protecting against various threats. Additionally, the paper also addresses setting a new and more secure base for any virtualization technologies all while securely handling consumer data. © 2024 IEEE.

The growth optimizer(GO)is an innovative and robust metaheuristic optimization algorithm designed to simulate the learning and reflective processes experienced by individuals as they mature within the social ***,the original GO algorithm is constrained by two significant limitations:slow convergence and high mem-ory *** restricts its application to large-scale and complex *** address these problems,this paper proposes an innovative enhanced growth optimizer(eGO).In contrast to conventional population-based optimization algorithms,the eGO algorithm utilizes a probabilistic model,designated as the virtual population,which is capable of accurately replicating the behavior of actual populations while simultaneously reducing memory ***,this paper introduces the Lévy flight mechanism,which enhances the diversity and flexibility of the search process,thus further improving the algorithm’s global search capability and convergence *** verify the effectiveness of the eGO algorithm,a series of experiments were conducted using the CEC2014 and CEC2017 test *** results demonstrate that the eGO algorithm outperforms the original GO algorithm and other compact algorithms regarding memory usage and convergence speed,thus exhibiting powerful optimization ***,the eGO algorithm was applied to image *** a comparative analysis with the existing PSO and GO algorithms and other compact algorithms,the eGO algorithm demonstrates superior performance in image fusion.

In the context of Intelligent Transportation systems (ITS), the role of vehicle detection and classification is indispensable for streamlining transportation management, refining traffic control, and conducting in-depth accident analyses. However, the intricate task of accurately detecting multi-oriented vehicles in diverse scenarios remains a challenge, even with the advancements in ITS. Factors such as vehicle morphology, design, road conditions, structural details, and climatic variables provide a significant part in the detection. To address this, our study introduces an advanced YOLOv8n model, specifically the YOLOv8n-CGW, which is built upon pre-trained deep learning frameworks. This model is meticulously tailored to enhance the detection capabilities for multi-oriented vehicles. Comprehensive evaluations on esteemed datasets like MtV, MERGED, Custom dataset, DAWN, WEDGE, and UA-DETRAC underscore the superiority of our approach over existing models. Notably, our YOLOv8n-CGW model achieves a remarkable mAP of 83.3% and boasts a swift inference time of 0.0019s, setting a new benchmark in the domain. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Feature selection is a cornerstone in advancing the accuracy and efficiency of predictive models, particularly in nuanced domains like socio-economic analysis. This study explores nine distinct feature selection methods, utilizing a heart disease dataset as a representative model for complex socio-economic systems. Our findings identified four universally recognized features as critical across all selection methods. However, the divergence in significance attributed to other features by different methods underscores the inherent variability in selection techniques. When the top four features were incorporated into twelve classification models, a noticeable surge in predictive accuracy was observed, emphasizing their foundational role in enhancing model outcomes. The variations among methods stress the need for a methodical and discerning approach to feature selection, especially in data-rich socio-economic landscapes. As we venture further into an era defined by data-driven decision-making, rigour and precision in feature selection become indispensable. Future research should extend this approach to broader datasets, ensuring the robustness and adaptability of our findings. © The author(s) 2025.

From AI-assisted art creation to large language model (LLM)-powered ChatGPT, AI-generated contents and services are becoming a transforming force. It calls for the telecom industry to embrace the prospects of AIGC services and face the unique challenges posed by incorporating generative model services into the AI-native 6G wireless network paradigm. We propose enabling AIGC inference services on mobile devices by optimizing MEC-device computing offloading, through which AIGC task latency is minimized by reinforcement learning based policy agent in a computing resource constrained and bandwidth limited wireless environment. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the performance advantage. © 2019 IEEE.

Indoor Navigation System (INS) supports seamless movement of objects within confined spaces in smart environments. In this paper, a novel INS that relies on ESP32-based Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) measurements for precise estimation of distance using K-Nearest Neighbour (K-NN) algorithm is proposed. The system architecture includes three ESP32 nodes functioning as clients, and ESP8266 combined with ESP32 acting as a server. To overcome the limitations of Global Positioning System (GPS) within an indoor environment, Machine Learning (ML)-based prediction models are employed to estimate distance between nodes and predict user locations along with the distance between source and destination. This approach not only addresses the challenges posed by GPS in indoor settings, but also shows the potential of ESP32 devices and predictive algorithms for enhancing navigation accuracy and reliability. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

In order to forecast the run time of the jobs that were submitted, this research provides two linear regression prediction models that include continuous and categorical factors. A continuous predictor is built using the number of CPUs, average CPU speed, and memory size, whereas a categorical predictor is built using the user ID, group ID, and executable ID. According to the findings, the prediction rates for categorical and continuous predictors are 61% and 1%, respectively. sixty times better than the earlier models, which used continuous variables as a foundational model to determine task complexity and weight. The effectiveness of the categorical predictor in enhancing a job scheduling problem is then evaluated by combining it with three suggested job scheduling strategies. The suggested algorithms incorporated metrics - predicted run time, waiting time, and resource requirement - to select the smallest jobs. According to the results, Algorithm 3 performs better than earlier models in both performance metrics. The variation in total execution time and average waiting time is 1.14 to 1.76 and 4.5, respectively compared to previous models, Additionally, Algorithms 1 and 2 demonstrating superior performance in every scenario. © 2024 IEEE.
