Immersive learning has gained significant attention with the rising trend of spatial computing, particularly in the after-pandemic era. Numerous research has explored the potential of immersive learning in higher education, primarily on the educational sector. However, prior research has frequently focused too narrowly on the effects of technology and neglected to address the crucial element influencing successful immersive learning in higher education. This study seeks to pinpoint the crucial element contributing to the development of immersive learning experiences. The methodology uses a systematic literature review (SLR) from 2018 up to 2023 to investigate the critical factors of immersive Learning in Higher Education. From the 728 papers initially retrieved, 274 were considered potential candidates, and ultimately, 86 articles were selected based on their relevance to the research question. The results reveal that the critical factors include learning design, technology, immersion, engagement, interactivity, and usability. Academic interests will benefit from this SLR's consequences as institutions create models for designing suitable immersive learning, especially within the context of higher education. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, the overall health index of underground cable system is determined using Fuzzy Logic and Scoring and Weighting Average methods. The relevant data of 73 feeders has been collected in the prepared evaluation forms, divided into five major component groups: cable, joint, termination, manhole, and ductbank. In each component, various testing methods and diagnostic techniques are applied, and then the numerical score is determined according to the technical criteria for condition assessment. Subsequently, the obtained overall health index is multiplied with the conditional factor to incorporate the differences in installation type and configuration as well as the operating and environmental conditions. Finally, the overall health index based on these two methods is compared to verify the accuracy of the obtained results to properly plan the preventive and condition-based maintenance and to improve the reliability of the underground cable system. © 2023 IEEE.

We for the first time study characteristic fluctuation of gate-all-around silicon nanosheet MOSFETs induced by random dopants fluctuation (RDF), interface trap fluctuation (ITF), and work function fluctuation (WKF), and their combinations. The explored devices affected by the WKF and its combination result in sizeable variability. Because of enigmatical interactions among the aforementioned random factors, overestimated variabilities occur if we only consider one random source each time, compared with the statistical 3D device simulation for full RDF, ITF and WKF at the same time. Notably, 10.78% and 103% overestimations are found for the threshold voltage and off-state current fluctuations. © 2022 IEEE.

The implementation of Gated Recurrent Neural Networks (GRU) to generate background music (BGM) combines deep learning technology with music that is used for the visual content of a commercial or educational. Indeed, this BGM is necessary to enhance the intended message expressed to the other audience. This work aimed to provide the model network of GRU which is based on RNN to generate multi-label genres of music by using the open source of GTZAN to evaluate the new BGM. Our GRU networks can solve the vanishing gradient problem by utilizing both the reset gate and the update gate on the network. In the results, we achieved a new BGM that synchronized with the human mood which made more variety of sounds.

This paper provides an examination of the impact of lightning strikes on a 220 kV double circuit (D/C) high voltage transmission line in Bhutan. The study employs the ATP-EMTP software to identify the leading causes of transmission line faults, which are primarily attributed to lightning strikes. Since the transmission lines run through areas in Bhutan that are prone to severe weather conditions and lightning strikes, they are vulnerable to damage, leading to an unreliable power supply. To address this issue, the author proposes several solutions, such as enhancing the tower footing resistance and installing line surge arresters. The author also created models of different transmission towers and analyzed an 18 km stretch of the transmission line that is highly susceptible to lightning strikes. © 2023 IEEE.

Many economically essential crops in Indonesia (such as coffee, tea, chocolate, or copra) require storage or drying under certain environmental conditions, especially temperature and humidity. The solar dryer dome, typically used for agricultural purposes in Indonesia, produces a sufficient amount of heat to increase the evaporation rate inside the dome and reduce the moisture content of the commodity. A hybrid solar dryer accompanied by a photovoltaic panel, fan, and ventilation system is generally suitable. The system can provide an optimum environment with minimum control. However, as the outdoor temperature and humidity change dramatically, such as at night time, more control is required. Based on Industry 4.0 technologies, we have developed a new kind of hybrid solar dryer that provides an optimum environment 24/7. The system, called Smart Dome 4.0, is an intelligent, low-cost, self-sufficient drying and storage system to support Indonesia Agriculture 4.0. The system has a local power generation unit to self-sustain the required energy and operate without connecting to the electricity grid. The system utilizes a machine-learning algorithm to predict the environmental condition and optimally uses self-generated electric power. The developed Smart Dome 4.0 technology is critical to producing a sustainable solar dome under drastic environmental dynamics. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Current mammographic screeningfor breast cancer is less effective for younger women. To complement mammography for premenopausal women, we investigated the feasibility screening test using 98 blood serum proteins. Because the data set was very noisy and contained only weak features, we used a classifier designed for noisy data: decision fusion. Decision fusion outperformed both a support vector machine (SVM) and linear regression with forward stepwise feature selection on all three two-class classification tasks: normal tissue vs. cancer, normal tissue vs. benign lesions, and benign lesions vs. cancer. Decision fusion detected cancer moderately well (AUC=0.84 on normal vs. cancer), demonstrating promise as a screening tool. Decision fusion also detected benign lesions similarly well (AUC=0.83 on normal vs. benign lesions) and was the only classifier to achieve any success in separating benign from malignant lesions (AUC=0.64 on benign vs. cancer). The classification results suggest that the assayed proteins are more indicative of a secondary effect, such as immune response, rather than specific for breast cancer. In conclusion, the decision fusion classifier demonstrated some promise in detecting breast lesions and outperformed other classifiers, especially for the very noisy classification problem of distinguishing benign from malignant lesions. ©2007 IEEE.

To manage the IoT resources to process the massive amount of collected data in complex systems, Allocation of tasks to nodes to increase user satisfaction has been noticed by researchers. In allocating tasks, the necessity of a powerful auxiliary platform is felt. Cloud and fog networks are two suitable options for performing and completing tasks on the Internet of Things. In the cloud network, due to offloading tasks to remote computing centers, problems such as increasing complete time, increasing traffic in the network, and high energy consumption for the Internet of Things network occur. The fog network solves the problem of completing tasks due to reducing the geographical distance between Internet of Things devices and processor nodes. The devices in the fog network cooperate with the Internet of Things network’s diverse and variable nodes with time computing, storage, and processing resources. In this heterogeneous environment, the non-cooperation and dishonesty of malicious fog nodes through misrepresentation of shared resources and non-completion of tasks can disrupt the performance of the Internet of Things network. As a result, two fundamental challenges in the heterogeneous fog network include providing resources to allocate tasks and recognizing valid fog nodes. This paper focuses on creating a resource provider network to allocate tasks to authentic fog nodes with appropriate resources. When an Internet of Things node faces a shortage of resources and link prediction, it can form a resource supply network with neighboring nodes to solve the two stated challenges. For this purpose, in the first stage, efforts are made to select the most appropriate options among the neighboring nodes based on specific criteria. In the second step, reliable nodes are identified based on a trust mechanism, including resource trust and entity trust. Funneling acoustic waves through largely mismatched channels is of fundamental importance to tailor and transmit sound for a variety of *** electromagnetics,zero-permittivity metamaterials have been used to enhance the coupling of energy in and out of ultranarrow channels,based on a phenomenon known as *** metamaterial channels can support total transmission and complete phase uniformity,independent of the channel length,despite being geometrically mismatched with their input and output *** the feld of acoustics,this phenomenon is challenging to achieve,since it requires zero-density metamaterials,typically realized with waveguides periodically loaded with membranes or *** to electromagnetics,the additional challenge is due to the fact that conventional acoustic waveguides do not support a cut-of for the dominant mode of propagation,and therefore zero-index can be achieved only based on a collective resonance of the loading *** we propose and experimentally realize acoustic supercoupling in a dual regime,using a compressibility-nearzero acoustic *** than engineering the channel with subwavelength inclusions,we operate at the cut-of of a higherorder acoustic mode,demonstrating the realization and efcient excitation of a zero-compressibility waveguide with efective sof *** experimentally verify strong transmission through a largely mismatched channel and uniform phase distribution,independent of the channel *** results open interesting pathways towards the realization of extreme acoustic parameters and their implementation in relevant applications,such as ultrasound imaging,acoustic transduction and sensing,nondestructive evaluation,and sound communications.

Optical intelligent reflecting surface (OIRS) has been considered a promising technology for visible light communication (VLC) by constructing visual line-of-sight propagation paths to address the signal blockage issue. However, the existing works on OIRSs are mostly based on perfect channel state information (CSI), whose acquisition appears to be challenging due to the passive nature of the OIRS. To tackle this challenge, this paper proposes a customized channel estimation algorithm for OIRSs. Specifically, we first unveil the OIRS spatial coherence characteristics and derive the coherence distance in closed form. Based on this property, a spatial sampling-based algorithm is proposed to estimate the OIRS-reflected channel, by dividing the OIRS into multiple subarrays based on the coherence distance and sequentially estimating their associated CSI, followed by an interpolation to retrieve the full CSI. Simulation results validate the derived OIRS spatial coherence and demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed OIRS channel estimation algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.
