artificial intelligence (AI)and Machine learning have greatly improved the accuracy of cricket, one of the most popular, well-supported, and exhilarating sports of today. The quantity of matches played throughout time has led to an exponential growth in the data about cricket matches and individual players. Furthermore, big data analytics are in high demand, and this data has many potential applications. Some examples of its potential applications include team player selection and prediction utilizing machine learning models and significant data approaches. A machine learning linear reversion model was used to forecast the team's performance in the absence of massive data and the comprehensive Spark ML framework. Following the application of linear regression in Spark ML, the untried outcomes are evaluated using accuracy, mean square error (MSE) and mean absolute error (MAE) root mean square error (RMSE), which are reported as 95%, 30.2, 1350.34, and 28.2 correspondingly. More than that, may use this method for other kinds of sports.

Segmenting regions of interest in histopathology images is a critical prerequisite for biomedical applications. CNN-based models have advanced medical image segmentation, yet accurately delineating boundaries is still challenging. This challenge arises from the loss of spatial resolution due to downsampling and the complexity of capturing contextual information when upsampling to the original resolution. To address these issues, we design U-HRMLP, a U-shaped network based on a hybrid combination of HRNet and Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP). Specifically, we propose a multi-scale feature fusion module to avoid the loss of image resolution in the encoding stage as much as possible. Simultaneously, we propose an MLP-based decoding block to recover image details and resolution progressively, alleviating the issues related to the inadequate segmentation of smaller objects and the blurring of tissue boundaries. Results on the MoNuSeg and GlaS datasets demonstrate that U-HRMLP outperforms conventional or transformer-based methods and achieves state-of- the-art performance.

We present the results of a friendly competition for formal verification of continuous and hybrid systems with nonlinear continuous dynamics. The friendly competition took place as part of the workshop Applied Verification for Continuous and Hybrid Systems (ARCH) in 2022. This year, 6 tools Ariadne, CORA, DynIbex, JuliaReach, Kaa and KeYmaera X (in alphabetic order) participated. These tools are applied to solve reachability analysis problems on six benchmark problems, two of them featuring hybrid dynamics. We do not rank the tools based on the results, but show the current status and discover the potential advantages of different tools. © 2022, EasyChair. All rights reserved.

SwimVG: Step-wise Multimodal Fusion and Adaption for Visual Grounding

Visual grounding aims to ground an image region through natural language, which heavily relies on cross-modal alignment. Most existing methods transfer visual/linguistic knowledge separately by fully fine-tuning uni-modal pre-trained models, followed by a simple stack of visual-language transformers for multimodal fusion. However, these approaches not only limit adequate interaction between visual and linguistic contexts, but also incur significant computational costs. Therefore, to address these issues, we explore a step-wise multimodal fusion and adaption framework, namely SwimVG. Specifically, SwimVG proposes step-wise multimodal prompts (Swip) and cross-modal interactive adapters (CIA) for visual grounding, replacing the cumbersome transformer stacks for multimodal fusion. Swip can improve the alignment between the vision and language representations step by step, in a token-level fusion manner. In addition, weight-level CIA further promotes multimodal fusion by cross-modal interaction. Swip and CIA are both parameter-efficient paradigms, and they fuse the cross-modal features from shallow to deep layers gradually. Experimental results on four widely-used benchmarks demonstrate that SwimVG achieves remarkable abilities and considerable benefits in terms of efficiency. CovKG: A Covid-19 knowledge Graph for enabling multidimensional analytics on Covid-19 epidemiological data considering spatiotemporal, environmental, health, and socioeconomic aspects

The Covid-19 pandemic is influenced by many environmental, health, and socioeconomic aspects such as air pollution, comorbidity, occupation, etc. To better manage future pandemics, decision-makers need comprehensive data on Covid-19 mortality and morbidity. Most Covid-19 data sources focus on spatiotemporal aspects, and existing research often overlook the combined impact of multiple interconnected factors. This study introduces a Covid-19 knowledge Graph (CovKG) derived from 20 data sources, enabling multidimensional analysis of epidemiological data, including time, location, temperature, comorbidity, occupation, and others. CovKG is modeled using RDF, connected to 10,951 external resources, and semantically enriched with Data Cube (QB) and QB for OLAP (QB4OLAP) vocabularies to adhere to the FAIR principles and ensure OLAP compatibility. Finally, we perform a qualitative and comparative evaluation and extract statistical insights across multiple dimensions of Covid-19 epidemiology. When assessed, CovKG answers 100% of competency queries, outperforming other data stores that only answer 39%. —Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have emerged as the potential aerial base stations (BSs) to improve terrestrial communications. However, the limited onboard energy and antenna power of a UAV restrict its communication range and transmission capability. To address these limitations, this work employs collaborative beamforming through a UAV-enabled virtual antenna array to improve transmission performance from the UAV to terrestrial mobile users, under interference from non-associated BSs and dynamic channel conditions. Specifically, we introduce a memory-based random walk model to more accurately depict the mobility patterns of terrestrial mobile users. Following this, we formulate a multi-objective optimization problem (MOP) focused on maximizing the transmission rate while minimizing the flight energy consumption of the UAV swarm. Given the NP-hard nature of the formulated MOP and the highly dynamic environment, we transform this problem into a multi-objective Markov decision process and propose an improved evolutionary multi-objective reinforcement learning algorithm. Specifically, this algorithm introduces an evolutionary learning approach to obtain the approximate Pareto set for the formulated MOP. Moreover, the algorithm incorporates a long short-term memory network and hyper-sphere-based task selection method to discern the movement patterns of terrestrial mobile users and improve the diversity of the obtained Pareto set. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively generates a diverse range of non-dominated policies and outperforms existing methods. Additional simulations demonstrate the scalability and robustness of the proposed CB-based method under different system parameters and various unexpected circumstances. © 2025 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. Comparative analysis of alkali-treated natural fibres for improved interfacial adhesion in composite materials

Natural fibers such as bamboo, kenaf, flax, ramie and hemp were chemically treated to improve their adherence with hydrophobic matrices. One common chemical process for altering the surface of these natural fibers is alkali treatment (AT). The experiment involves soaking bamboo fibers (BF) in solutions of 1, 10, and 30 wt % sodium hydroxide (NaOH) for one day, half an hour, and twenty minutes at room temperature. These alkali-treated and untreated bamboo fibers was compared with their physical and mechanical qualities. Using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the circular fiber assumption, the CSA of bamboo fibers both before and after AT were compared. Improving the AT procedures for BF at room temperature using varying NaOH concentrations is the focus of this effort. Additionally, the tensile characteristics of both untreated and variously treated AT Bamboo fibres are examined using a two-parameter Weibull distribution. Instead of just showing the average tensile strength, probabilistic tensile strength has shown to be a more effective method. This study proves without a reasonable doubt that adding 1 wt % NaOH to bamboo fiber makes natural fiber reinforced composites mechanically better. According to the SEM, the CSA of bamboo fibers decreases by about 13.62–20.24% and about 18.42–22.63%, respectively, after alkali treatment. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Closed Loop Networks for Open-Set Semi-Supervised Learning

Open-Set Semi-Supervised Learning (OS-SSL) refers to the task of learning classifiers with labeled and unlabeled instances, but the unlabeled data may contain the instances associated with unseen labels, dubbed as Out-Of-Distribution (OOD) instances. The main idea of OS-SSL is to detect and filter out the OOD instances to avoid the negative effects for classifier training. The current methods treat the detection of OOD instances and the classification of seen labels as two specific tasks, and achieve OS-SSL by using a shared backbone with two task-specific heads. However, we found that such way may result in a conflict problem between the two specific heads by observing the gradients of the shared backbone parameters. To solve this problem, we develop a novel OS-SSL method, namely Closed LOop NEtworks (CLONE), which employs two respective networks to detect OOD instances and classify seen labels, but makes a feedback loop between them. We can train CLONE in an end-to-end manner efficiently. We empirically compare CLONE with the existing OS-SSL methods on several benchmark datasets. The experimental results indicate that CLONE can outperform existing baseline methods in most settings. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The graph with complex annotations is the most potent data type, whose constantly evolving motivates further exploration of the unsupervised dynamic graph representation. One of the representative paradigms is graph contrastive learning. It constructs self-supervised signals by maximizing the mutual information between the statistic graph's augmentation views. However, the semantics and labels may change within the augmentation process, causing a significant performance drop in downstream tasks. This drawback becomes greatly magnified on dynamic graphs. To address this problem, we designed a simple yet effective framework named CLDG. Firstly, we elaborate that dynamic graphs have temporal translation invariance at different levels. Then, we proposed a sampling layer to extract the temporally-persistent signals. It will encourage the node to maintain consistent local and global representations, i.e., temporal translation invariance under the timespan views. The extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the method on seven datasets by outperforming eight unsupervised state-of-the-art baselines and showing competitiveness against four semi-supervised methods. Compared with the existing dynamic graph method, the number of model parameters and training time is reduced by an average of 2,001.86 times and 130.31 times on seven datasets, respectively. Point-of-Interest (POI) recommendation, pivotal for guiding users to their next interested locale, grapples with the persistent challenge of data sparsity. Whereas knowledge graphs (KGs) have emerged as a favored tool to mitigate the issue, existing KG-based methods tend to overlook two crucial elements: the intention steering users’ location choices and the high-order topological structure within the KG. In this paper, we craft an Intention-aware knowledge Graph (IKG) that harmonizes users’ visit histories, movement trajectories, and location categories to model user intentions. Building upon IKG, our novel Intention-aware knowledge Graph Network (IKGN) delves deeper into the POI recommendation by weighing and propagating node embeddings through an attention mechanism, capturing the unique locational intent of each user. A sequential model like GRU is then employed to ensure a comprehensive representation of users’ short- and long-term location preferences. An empirical study on two real-world datasets validates the effectiveness of our proposed IKGN, with it markedly outshining seven benchmark rival models in both Recall and NDCG metrics.
