The majority of businesses have made public appearances on various social media platforms as a result of recent advances in e-commerce and the popularity of social media websites. Customers can share their experiences in the form of online customer reviews, which can assist potential customers in determining the quality of a company and making purchasing decisions. Due to the large volume of published reviews, it becomes difficult for customers to read all of the reviews and assess the quality of the business, resulting in the problem of information overload. Several solutions have been proposed in the literature by researchers using statistical and machine learning techniques to predict the helpfulness of online customer reviews. However, most of the existing solutions are based on the use of various business, review, and reviewer features, which lead to generalizability issues. Moreover, very limited studies have examined the effectiveness of state-of-the-art pre-trained language models for the classification of helpful and unhelpful reviews. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effectiveness of XLNet, Albert, DistilBert, and Roberta for review helpfulness prediction using textual features. The models were fine-tuned using a publicly available dataset of Yelp reviews. The results showed that XLNet achieved the highest F1-score of 0.730 compared to a benchmark of 0.717 achieved by the BERT base model. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Autonomous systems (AS) enable systems to adapt to drastic and unprecedented environmental changes, a capability that can be enhanced through the utilization of Digital Twins (DTs). However, the additional capabilities of AS come at the cost of explainability, as the expanding adaptation space complicates the reasoning about the system's behavior. For certain types of systems, it is crucial to ensure that specific properties are upheld despite the system's autonomous behavior. To facilitate the monitoring of these properties, we propose the use of Runtime Verification (RV). This tutorial demonstrates the integration of RV tools into the Digital Twins as a Service (DTaaS) platform to monitor and verify the behavior of AS in real-time. By exploring various methods to incorporate RV tools within a DT context, the tutorial aims to advance the application of RV technologies in autonomic computing and self-adaptive system design. Specifically, we demonstrate how the behavior of a self-configuring DT can be verified utilizing RV. This is accomplished through the DTaaS platform, which supports seamless deployment of DT-based AS. © 2024 IEEE.

Frequently, individuals undergo specific episodes of mental health challenges throughout their lifetime. But the COVID pandemic has triggered a surge in mental health disorders arising from isolation, monotonous routines, demanding workloads, financial disparities, and disruptions to daily schedules. Furthermore, the global pandemic has induced constant anxiety and stress. Beyond the pandemic, the competition and intense pressure of the modern world impact mental health. Access to advanced mental health solutions and the necessary familiarity remain limited for most of the population. Given the integration of technology into daily life, diverse remedies, including mobile and web applications, have emerged to tackle the escalating challenge of mental health disorders. This study proposes an accessible and cost-effective approach that employs machine learning to detect stress levels and discern user emotions from journal entries and facial expressions while integrating self-journaling, video recommendations, and visual content generation to stimulate positive emotions and relieve stress. © 2023 IEEE.

The landscape of cybersecurity in manufacturing exhibits a dynamic interplay between evolving threats and vulnerabilities against innovative defense mechanisms. With the increasing adoption of smart and cloud-controlled technologies, there is a growing emphasis on securing manufacturing systems from cyberattacks. Future trends indicate a shift toward implementing more advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning for threat identification, attack detection, and response. In addition, the adoption of secure-by-design principles in product development and the integration of blockchain technology for ensuring the integrity of supply chain data are expected to become more prevalent. As manufacturers continue to digitize and connect their operations, collaboration between industry stakeholders, government agencies, and cybersecurity experts will be crucial in developing robust defense strategies against evolving security threats. This Special Issue provided a platform for the research advancing understanding of and addressing these threats. The article by Rahman et al., “Taxonomy-Driven Graph-Theoretic Framework for Manufacturing Cybersecurity Risk Modeling and Assessment,” presents a taxonomy-driven graph-theoretic model and framework to represent the threat landscape of cybersecurity and identify vulnerable manufacturing assets. The model and framework contain three techniques to address identified research challenges. First, the proposed framework characterizes threat actors' techniques, tactics, and procedures using taxonomical classifications of manufacturing-specific threat attributes and integrates these attributes into cybersecurity risk modeling. Second, using the attack graph formalism, the proposed framework enables concurrent modeling and analysis of a wide variety of cybersecurity threats comprising varying attack vectors, locations, vulnerabilities, and consequences. Optimization in ad hoc networks is a highly specialized task because the structure of the network is loosely formed, and each node is independently responsible for its operation. In order to obtain a better result from this solely formed networks this report offer extensive Dynamic Topology Management (DTM) method. Dynamic routing protocols lager lines, dividend balancing, Life-saving administration, guarantee of reliability, cross-layer design, security aspects and the on-time monitoring and discovery of topology changes are the main objectives and steps to be accomplished. Real-time Location monitoring and forest structure discovery are made possible by employing adaptive routing protocols, namely Dynamic Source Routing(DSR) and Ad-Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector(AODV). Also, the algorithms are capable of making advance adjustments to routing routes and resource allocations drawn from the mobility patterns forecasting which is vital. Load balancing methods, which distribute traffic in a network evenly, enable the system to run efficiently and avoid problems caused by overloading. Algorithms that are energy-efficient and make the best use of energy resources having their topology's optimized are introduced to the streamlined energy distribution systems. These algorithms are focused on the node's energy level. Through fault tolerance techniques which recognize and handle failures in nodes and partitioned networks, connectedness activity is a continuous one. Through QoS perception, the network topology might automatically be tailored to conform to the given quality criteria, thus not restricting the choice for differing applications. The proposed could have defenses against adversary nodes and their potential DDoS attacks which will enhance network protection. Yet another advantage of an architectural style that promotes cross-layer collaboration is enhanced topology management which is the goal around which the functions of various levels of the protocol stack revolve

computer-aided detection of plasmodium malaria on cell images from digital microscopy provides an invaluable second opinion to medical experts. Traditionally, well-established deep learning algorithms are widely used to detect plasmodium, but these techniques have not been deployed due to the uninterpretable nature of the decisions made by the network. To address this, we present an ensemble method that fuses the predictions based on the class activation mapping (CAM) results from multiple networks via a novel selector network. We study the performance on a publicly available dataset of cell images by using three convolutional neural network architectures, Xception, ResNet50, and InceptionV3,to produce CAM results for the selector network and performance comparison. Our proposed approach helps enhance doctors' trust and outperforms the traditional methods by 1%. © 2023 IEEE.

Due to The lack of comparison studies and practical applications of RNN, LSTM, and hybrid RNN-LSTM models for intrusion detection systems, especially when managing class imbalances in complex network datasets, represents a gap in the literature. This study investigates the application of deep learning techniques to improve the detection capabilities of IDS. For this study, we applied and assessed Recurrent Neural Network, Long Short-Term Memory, and Hybrid RNN-LSTM models on a UNSW-NB15 dataset, and to redress class imbalance we trained and validated our models using synthetic minority over-sampling. The RNN-LSTM model was shown to perform the best with a 9 4. 0 0 % accuracy in comparison to other models. These experimental results signify the possibility of enhancing IDS performance and a dependable method of detecting various network intrusions with the use of hybrid models comprised of RNN & LSTM. © 2025 IEEE.

Background Facial features and measurements are utilized to analyze patients’ faces for various reasons, including surgical planning, scientific communications, patient-surgeon communications, and post-surgery evaluations. Objectives There are numerous descriptions regarding these features and measurements scattered throughout the literature, and the authors did not encounter a current compilation of these parameters in the medical literature. Methods A narrative literature review of the published medical literature for facial measurements used for facial analysis in rhinoplasty was conducted through the electronic databases MEDLINE/PubMed and Google Scholar, along with a citation search. Results A total of 61 facial features were identified: 45 points (25 bilateral, 20 unilateral), 5 lines (3 bilateral, 2 unilateral), 8 planes, and 3 areas. A total of 122 measurements were identified: 48 distances (6 bilateral, 42 unilateral), 57 angles (13 bilateral, 44 unilateral), and 17 ratios. Supplemental figures were created to depict all features and measurements utilizing a frontal, lateral, or basal view of the face. Conclusions This paper provides the most comprehensive and current compilation of facial measurements to date. The authors believe this compilation will guide further developments (methodologies and software tools) for analyzing nasal structures and assessing the objective outcomes of facial surgeries, in particular rhinoplasty. Moreover, it will improve communication as a reference for facial measurements of facial surface anthropometry, in particular rhinoplasty.
