The mobile cellular systems are expected to support multiple services with guaranteed Quality of Service(QoS). But, the ability of wireless systems to accommodate expected growth of traffic load and broadband services is limited by available radio frequency spectrum. Call Admission Control (CAC) is one of the resource management functions, which regulates network access to ensure QoS provisioning. However, the decision for CAC is very challenging issue due to user mobility, limited radio spectrum, and multimedia traffic characteristics. In our previous work, we proposed a fuzzy-based CAC system by considering the priority of the on-going connections. As priority parameter, we considered only one parameter (service request). In this work, we extend our work by adding different priorities. We call this system FACS-MP. We evaluate by simulations the performance of the proposed system. From the simulations results, we conclude that the FACS-MP can differentiate better different services compared with previous system.

From the simulations results, we conclude that the FACS-MP make a good differentiation of different services and has better behaviour than FACS-P.

In this work, we investigate how WSN performs in the case when sink node moves using different radio models and metrics. We consider routing efficiency, delay and number of received packet metrics to evaluate the performance of WSN using AODV routing protocol, lattice topology, and TwoRayGround and Shadowing radio models. We evaluate the performance of WSN by simulations. The performance evaluation results show that for small number of sensor nodes, the RE of Shadowing radio model is better than TwoRayGround model. However, for high node density, the RE of TwoRayGround model is better than Shadowing radio model. When Tr is less 10, the delay of Shadowing model is better than TwoRayGround model. However, for Tr larger than 100, the delay of TwoRayGround model is better than Shadowing model. With increase of the number of nodes, the number of received packets is also increased. For TwoRayGround model, when Tr is less than 10, the number of received packets for 16, 64, and 100 nodes is almost the same. However, comparing TwoRayGround model with Shadowing model, for the same time interval and for the same number of nodes, the number of received packets of TwoRayGround model is better than Shadowing model.

Sensor networks supported by recent technological advances in low power wireless communications along with silicon integration of various functionalities are emerging as a critically important computer class that enable novel and low cost applications. There are many fundamental problems that sensor networks research will have to address in order to ensure a reasonable degree of cost and system quality. Cluster formation and cluster head selection are important problems in sensor network applications and can drastically affect the network's communication energy dissipation. However, selecting of the cluster head is not easy in different environments which may have different characteristics. In our previous work, in order to deal with this problem, we proposed a power reduction algorithm for sensor networks based on fuzzy logic and number of neighbor nodes. We call this algorithm F3N. In this paper, we implement a simulation system for clustering algorithms in sensor networks. We evaluate LEACH and F3N by some simulation results. Presently, we have implemented LEACH algorithm in NS-2. However, F3N is implemented in MATLAB. We are working to implement also F3N system in NS-2 in order to compare their performance.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are a sensing, computing and communication infrastructure that are able to observe and respond to phenomena in the natural environment and in our physical and cyber infrastructure. The sensors themselves can range from small passive micro sensors to larger scale, controllable weather-sensing platforms. In this work, we investigate how the sensor network performs in the case when the sink node moves using different radio models. We consider good put and depletion metrics to evaluate the performance of WSN. We compare the simulation results when the sink node is mobile and stationary considering lattice topology and AODV protocol. The simulation results have shown that in case of mobile sink, the good put of TwoRayGround radio model is better than Shadowing. However, the consumed energy of Shadowing model is better than TwoRayGround model.

The design of an efficient collaborative multirobot framework that ensures the autonomy and the individual requirements of the involved robots is a very challenging task. This requires designing an efficient platform for inter-robot communication. P2P is a good approach to achieve this goal. P2P aims at making the communication ubiquitous thereby crossing the communication boundary and has many attractive features to use it as a platform for collaborative multi-robot environments. In this work, we present the JXTA Overlay P2P system and its application for robot control. Since JXTA-Overlay is able to overcome Firewalls, Routers and NATs, it is possible to control end-devices in a WAN without changing the network security policy. We used JXTA-Overlay for the control of robot motors. We evaluated the proposed system by many experiments and have shown that the proposed system has a good performance and can be used successfully for robot control.

A Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile terminals that are able to dynamically form a temporary network without any aid from fixed infrastructure or centralized administration. In recent years, MANETs are continuing to attract the attention for their potential use in several fields such as military activities, rescue operations and time-critical applications. In this paper, we present the implementation and analysis of our implemented wireless multi-hop network testbed considering the Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol for wireless multi-hop networking. We investigate the effect of mobility and topology changing in MANET. We study the impact of best-effort traffic for non line of sight communication. In this work, we consider three models: stationary, mobility and non line of sight communication models. We assess the performance of our testbed in terms of throughput and packet loss. From the experimental results, we found that OLSR has not a good performance when the relay node is moving. Also, the performance deteriorates when the CBR is higher.

In recent years, Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) are continuing to attract the attention for their potential use in several fields. Mobility and the absence of any fixed infrastructure make MANETs very attractive for mobility and rescue operations and time-critical applications. In this paper, we present the implementation and analysis of our implemented MANET testbed considering the Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol. We consider two models. One when all the nodes are static and another one when one node is moving. The mobile node moves toward the destination at a regular speed and when arrives at the corner of stairs is stops for about three seconds. In this work, we assess the performance of our MANET testbed in terms of throughput and packet loss. From our experiments, we found that the OLSR protocol has a good performance when nodes are in stationary state. However, when the node moves the throughput is decreased. We observed that the number of packet loss increases after 2-hops for static model and after 1-hop for moving model. But, when the node is moving, the packet loss for 2-hops to 4-hops is almost the same.

Due to the improvement of connections capabilities of end-devices there is an increasing interest to design and implement full featured P2P networks that integrate end-devices. In this paper, we use JXTA-Overlay for the secure control of the robot. We considered the robot as end-device. We investigate the time of secure robot control when in the network were connected different number of peers and compared the results with the scenarios where no security exists at all. The experimental results indicate that in the proposed system security has a cost at the application efficiency by adding some overhead in the time of robot control, but JXTA-Overlay can be used successfully to control robots in real time.
