Image super-resolution (SR) and disparity estimation are closely related in stereo images, with effective utilization of disparity maps enhancing SR performance. This paper proposes a stereo image super-resolution reconstruction network utilizing disparity estimation and a domain diffusion model. The network integrates disparity estimation with diffusion models for feature summation and domain space construction, enabling interaction between forward and backward diffusion memory units. To further improve reconstructed image quality, we introduce a novel memory unit inspired by long short-term memory concepts. Disparity loss and structural similarity are included in the loss function to achieve more accurate results. To analyze the physiological information within the acquired EEG signal is very cumbersome due to the possibility of several factors, viz. noise and artifacts, complexity of brain dynamics, and inter-subject variability. To address these issues, this paper compares a U-shaped encoder-decoder network (UNET) and Bat-based UNET signal analysis (BUSA) techniques to classify depression rates in the Electroencephalogram (EEG) datasets. The main objective of including these two techniques is to reveal their effectiveness. It comprises pre-processing, feature extraction, feature selection, and classification stages. The framework excels at noise reduction during pre-processing, enhancing dataset integrity. Feature extraction leverages band power and correlation dimension to extract crucial features. Furthermore, feature selection optimizes classification accuracy by refining the fitness function of bats in the classification layer. The performance of UNET and BUSA are compared based on the following performance evaluating parameters viz. accuracy (Acc), Area Under the Curve (AUC), precision (P), and recall (R) (or sensitivity (Se)). A meta-reinforcement learning method for adaptive payload transportation with variations

The safe transport of cable-suspended payloads by a group of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) depends on their capacity to effectively respond to fluctuations in the dynamics caused by external variations, such as wind gusts. For group transportation with obstacles, internal variations, such as changes in formation, can also alter the space occupancy of the system related to collision detection. However, traditional adaptive learning methods are challenging to adapt to these two variations. In this paper, we present a learning-based method for collision-free dual-UAV–payload transportation in the presence of varied wind force and formation change. It consists of an adaptive trajectory tracking controller based on meta-model-based reinforcement learning with online adaptation and a novel correction policy, and a path planner that can sample collision-free goal states of the system for the controller based on the meta-collision predictor. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed trajectory tracking controller outperforms state-of-the-art model-free, model-based, and variational inference methods in terms of payload tracking error reduction and robustness when dealing with the variations mentioned above. Specifically, the proposed controller reduces the average payload tracking error to less than 0.1 metres in most tasks without obstacles. Furthermore, by following the adapted paths generated by the path planner, the trajectory tracking controller can effectively track the payload while ensuring collision-free safety of the dual-UAV–payload system during navigation among obstacles. The success rate of the proposed method is more than 80% in all scenarios with obstacles. Students' stress levels have a significant impact on their academic performance in higher education, thus it's important to identify signs of stress early on and intervene to improve academic performance. Machine learning has evolved into a powerful tool for stress prediction, allowing for proactive support of at-risk youngsters. In order to better anticipate college students' stress levels, this study presents an enhanced TriBranch CNN framework. In order to provide the best possible performance, the technique includes data preparation, feature extraction, and model training. The dimensionality and redundancy are reduced using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). After being trained and tested against other models, the Fully Conditional Temporal Bayesian Network (Fully CTBN) outperformed them all with an accuracy of 93.29%, beating both traditional CNN and FCN approaches. These findings demonstrate that the Fully CTBN approach is useful for identifying students who may be struggling academically and providing schools with the information they need to implement data-driven interventions that boost student well-being and performance.

In the context of the digital economy, programming proficiency is an essential competency that promotes upward socio-economic mobility and expands career opportunities. However, students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds often face significant barriers to acquiring these skills, such as limited access to technology and educational resources. This study explores the impact of AI-based adaptive programming education on socially disadvantaged students' learning outcomes and engagement levels. The 122 participants in the research were divided into an experimental group (EG) that received AI-driven adaptive instruction, and a control group (CG) taught through the traditional curriculum during the 13-week experimental period. In the research, the combined pre-test/post-test assessments and self-report engagement questionnaires were used to focus on behavioural, emotional, and cognitive engagement. The findings showed that the EG demonstrated higher levels in programming knowledge and full-scale engagement across behavioural, emotional, and cognitive dimensions compared to the CG. This difference was confirmed through ANOVA, while ANCOVA, which controlled for students' socio-economic factors, further confirmed that the AI system had a positive impact on students’ results regardless of their socio-economic background. Indeed, current research findings suggest that AI-based adaptive learning environments can hold a promising opportunity to narrow educational gaps, boost engagement, and contribute toward better learning outcomes for socially disadvantaged students. © The Author(s) 2025.

In recent years, cloud computing has witnessed widespread applications across numerous organizations. Predicting workload and computing resource data can facilitate proactive service operation management, leading to substantial improvements in quality of service and cost efficiency. However, these data often exhibit non-linearity, high volatility, and interdependencies across different categories, presenting challenges for accurate forecasting. Consequently, there is a critical need to develop a method that thoroughly and comprehensively analyzes all available data to forecast future trends effectively. This work proposes a novel integrated data-enhanced prediction model named SVAPI for achieving high-accuracy workload prediction in cloud computing systems. SVAPI employs the Savitzky-Golay filter, Variational mode decomposition, and the mode selection based on Amplitude-aware Permutation entropy for feature processing, whose features are subsequently utilized by Informer for multivariate joint analysis of the enhanced data, achieving high-precision prediction. Ablation and comparative experiments with advanced prediction models are conducted on the Google cluster trace and other typical datasets. Realistic data-driven results indicate that SVAPI improves the prediction accuracy by 37.7% compared to the original Informer, with each module contributing to the performance enhancement. Furthermore, compared with Autoformer, SVAPI enhances the prediction accuracy of workload, CPU, and memory by 65.6%, 66.9%, and 70.8%, respectively, demonstrating that SVAPI owns strong abilities in noise filtering, feature processing, and multivariate joint analysis for achieving higher prediction accuracy. © 2014 IEEE.

Autonomous driving technology is rapidly evolving, offering the potential for safer and more efficient transportation. However, the performance of these systems can be significantly compromised by the occlusion on sensors due to environmental factors like dirt, dust, rain, and fog. These occlusions severely affect vision-based tasks such as object detection, vehicle segmentation, and lane recognition. In this paper, we investigate the impact of various kinds of occlusions on camera sensor by projecting their effects from multi-view camera images of the nuScenes dataset into the Bird’s-Eye View (BEV) domain. This approach allows us to analyze how occlusions spatially distribute and influence vehicle segmentation accuracy within the BEV domain. Despite significant advances in sensor technology and multi-sensor fusion, a gap remains in the existing literature regarding the specific effects of camera occlusions on BEV-based perception systems. To address this gap, we use a multi-sensor fusion technique that integrates LiDAR and radar sensor data to mitigate the performance degradation caused by occluded cameras. The adoption of agricultural robots, or agrobots, has revolutionized modern farming operations, ranging from crop monitoring to automated harvesting, significantly boosting productivity. Motivated by the rapid advancements in agrobots and their integration into smart agricultural practices, this study proposes an autonomous trajectory tracking system for wheat farms using quadcopter UAVs. To address actuator fault detection, including stuck faults and partial loss of efficiency, a TSF-H∞-SMO (Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy-based H∞ Sliding Mode Observer) fault detection framework is introduced. The approach initiates with the derivation of a TSF (Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy) attitude control model that integrates an uncertainty term, constructed from the original nonlinear dynamics of the UAV and approximated through local linear models at four equilibrium positions. An actuator fault model is subsequently integrated to develop a comprehensive TSF-UAV model, accounting for actuator faults. The TSF-H∞-SMO is then designed using matrix coordinate transformation to enable precise fault detection. The fault detection capabilities of the TSF-H∞-SMO are evaluated through simulations on the TSF-UAV model under SISO (single-input single-output) actuator fault scenarios. The experimental results validate the proposed system, demonstrating its ability to detect a range of actuator faults accurately and promptly. The analysis reveals a proportional relationship between the amplitude of the state change and the severity of the fault, attributed to the interaction between system states and actuator flaps. This approach underscores the potential for deploying autonomous UAV-based fault detection and trajectory tracking systems in agricultural applications. Furthermore, integrating such advanced fault-tolerant control algorithms holds promise for consumer technology applications, where precision, reliability, and robustness are critical to enhancing system performance and operational efficiency. © 1

Hackathons have become popular collaborative events for accelerating the development of creative ideas and prototypes. There are several case studies showcasing creative outcomes across domains such as industry, education, and research. However, there are no large-scale studies on creativity in hackathons which can advance theory on how hackathon formats lead to creative outcomes. We conducted a computational analysis of 193,353 hackathon projects. By operationalizing creativity through usefulness and novelty, we refined our dataset to 10,363 projects, allowing us to analyze how participant characteristics, collaboration patterns, and hackathon setups influence the development of creative projects. The contribution of our paper is twofold: We identified means for organizers to foster creativity in hackathons. We also explore the use of large language models (LLMs) to augment the evaluation of creative outcomes and discuss challenges and opportunities of doing this, which has implications for creativity research at large. © 2025, CC BY.

Paraphrase detection for Urdu language text using fine-tune BiLSTM framework

Automated paraphrase detection is crucial for natural language processing (NL) applications like text summarization, plagiarism detection, and question-answering systems. Detecting paraphrases in Urdu text remains challenging due to the language’s complex morphology, distinctive script, and lack of resources such as labelled datasets, pre-trained models, and tailored NLP tools. This research proposes a novel bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) framework to address Urdu paraphrase detection’s intricacies. Our approach employs word embeddings and text preprocessing techniques like tokenization, stop-word removal, and label encoding to effectively handle Urdu’s morphological variations. The BiLSTM network sequentially processes the input, leveraging both forward and backward contextual information to encode the complex syntactic and semantic patterns inherent in Urdu text. An essential contribution of this work is the creation of a large-scale Urdu Paraphrased Corpus (UPC) comprising 400,000 potential sentence pair duplicates, with 150,000 pairs manually identified as paraphrases. Our findings reveal a significant improvement in paraphrase detection performance compared to existing methods. We provide insights into the underlying linguistic features and patterns that contribute to the robustness of our framework. This resource facilitates training and evaluating Urdu paraphrase detection models. Experimental evaluations on the custom UPC dataset demonstrate our BiLSTM model’s superiority, achieving 94.14% accuracy and outperforming state-of-the-art methods like CNN (83.43%) and LSTM (88.09%). Our model attains an impressive 95.34% accuracy on the benchmark Quora dataset. Furthermore, we incorporate a comprehensive linguistic rule engine to handle exceptional cases during paraphrase analysis, ensuring robust performance across diverse contexts. © The Author(s) 2025.
