In group decision making problems, given the importance of obtaining an accepted solution by the whole group, the consensus has attained a great attention and it is virtually a major goal of these problems. Consensus, as traditionally meant to be a full and unanimous agreement, is often not reachable in practice. A more realistic approach is to use softer consensus measures, which assess the consensus degree in a more flexible way, and therefore reflect the large spectrum of possible partial agreements, guiding the consensus process until widespread agreement is achieved among experts. In particular, the interpretation of the consensus based on the concept of fuzzy majority has been used in the most of the consensus models proposed in the literature, as it is more human-consistent and suitable for reflecting human perceptions of the meaning of consensus. However, there are still some open questions to be addressed. In this paper, we are going to highlight some issues in order to focus researcher's attention on new problems that arise when using consensus models based on soft consensus measures in real-world applications.

Leakage-resilient public key encryption (PKE) schemes are designed to resist "memory attacks", i.e., the adversary recovers the cryptographic key in the memory adaptively, but subject to constraint that the total amount of leaked information about the key is bounded by some parameter λ. Among all the IND-CCA2 leakage-resilient PKE proposals, the leakage-resilient version of the Cramer-Shoup cryptosystem (CS-PKE), referred to as the KL-CS-PKE scheme proposed by Naor and Segev in Crypto09, is the most practical one. But, the key leakage parameter λ and plaintext length m of KL-CS-PKE are subject to λ + m ≤ log q - ω(log κ), where κ is security parameter and q is the prime order of the group on which the scheme is based. Such a dependence between λ and m is undesirable. For example, when λ (resp., m) approaches to log q, m (resp., λ) approaches to 0. In this paper, we designed a new variant of CS-PKE that is resilient to key leakage chosen ciphertext attacks. Our proposal is λ ≤ log q - ω(log κ) leakage-resilient, and the leakage parameter λ is independent of the plaintext space that has the constant size q (exactly the same as that in CS-PKE). The performance of our proposal is almost as efficient as the original CS-PKE. As far as we know, this is the first leakage-resilient CS-type cryptosystem whose plaintext length is independent of the key leakage parameter, and is also the most efficient IND-CCA2 PKE scheme resilient to up to log q - ω(log κ) leakage. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

This work is motivated by the problem of synthesizing mode sequences for continuous-time polynomial switched systems in order to guarantee that the trajectories of the system satisfy certain high-level specifications expressed in linear temporal logic. We use augmented finite transition systems as abstract models of continuous switched systems. Augmented finite transition systems are equipped with liveness properties that can be used to enforce progress in accordance with the underlying dynamics. We then introduce abstraction and refinement relations that induce a preorder on this class of finite transition systems. By construction, the resulting preorder respects the feasibility (i.e., realizability) of the synthesis problem. Hence, existence of a discrete switching strategy for one of these abstract finite transition systems guarantees the existence of a mode sequence for the continuous system such that all of its trajectories satisfy the specification. We also present an algorithm, which can be implemented using sum-of-squares based relaxations, to compute such high fidelity abstract models in a computationally tractable way. Finally, these ideas are illustrated on an example.

The software process improvement is initiated to achieve the quality of the software processes which lead to quality of final software products. software processes are improved by implementing software process standards. These standards are often called software process improvement frameworks or standards. software process improvement is necessary to increase the efficiency and productivity of software companies and enhance the final software products. However, most of the Sudanese software companies do not follow any software process improvement standards. For this reason, normally these companies produce the software without high quality. Furthermore, the low quality may be the cause of some problems such as unreliable software and high maintenance. Some of the Sudanese software organizations were visited, to interview software experts and observe how these organizations can improve their software process. Furthermore, the results of these interviews have been used to design a questionnaire in order to show the relationship between Sudanese software organizations and software process improvement standards. This study has identified the problems faced by these organizations during the implementation of software process improvement standards and shows the ability of these organizations to implement the software process improvement standards. Moreover, this work can be used as a first step towards to produce software process improvement standard for the Sudanese software industry.

SaaS (software-as-a-Service) often uses multi-tenancy architecture (MTA) where tenant developers compose their applications online using the components stored in the SaaS database. Tenant applications need to be tested, and combinatorial testing can be used. While numerous combinatorial testing techniques are available, most of them produce static sequences of test configurations and their goal is often to provide sufficient coverage such as 2-way interaction coverage. But the goal of SaaS testing is to identify those compositions that are faulty for tenant applications. This paper proposes an adaptive test configuration generation algorithm AR (Adaptive Reasoning) that can rapidly identify those faulty combinations so that those faulty combinations cannot be selected by tenant developers for composition. The AR algorithm has been evaluated by both simulation and real experimentation using a MTA SaaS sample running on GAE (Google App Engine). Both the simulation and experiment showed show that the AR algorithm can identify those faulty combinations rapidly. Whenever a new component is submitted to the SaaS database, the AR algorithm can be applied so that any faulty interactions with new components can be identified to continue to support future tenant applications.

In this paper, we investigate the performance of OLSR and AODV protocols in a VANET crossroad scenario. The mobility patterns of vehicles are generated by means of CAVENET (Cellular Automaton based Vehicular Network) and as communication protocol simulator, is used NS3(Network Simulator 3). For the simulations, we used IEEE802.11p standard, TwoRayGroundPropagationLossModel and sent multiple CBR flows over UDP between ten pairs source-destination. We use Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), throughput and delay as evaluation metrics. We compared the performance of both protocols and the simulation results shows that for big values of transmission rates, OLSR performs better than AODV. For small transmission rates, the delay is less than 0.1sec and both protocols can be used for real time applications such as safety applications. For big values of transmission rate, the delay is higher than 1 sec and these protocols can be used for applications that tolerate this delay such as streaming and entertainment.

As Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) are attracting attention for their potential use in several fields such as collaborative computing and multimedia communications, there is an increasing need to minimize the overhead introduced by routing protocols in the network. In this paper, we analyze the performance of a MANET by simulations, in terms of RREQ, RREP and RERR, considering Random Waypoint Mobility (RWM) model. We consider the cases when all nodes are moving and source and destination nodes are static. We evaluate the performance by measuring the throughput and AODV control packets.

The use of virtual cluster for High Performance computing (HPC) work has a great benefit of hiding the complexity of physical infrastructure while providing a familiar HPC environment for users. Nevertheless, setting up one is still a challenging task for most users. In addition, the ability to span a virtual cluster across a multi-site cloud can even create a great potential for users to harness a much higher processing power from the cloud. In this paper, the development of a multi-site virtual cluster cloud is presented. This is done by providing the cloud infrastructures tailored specifically for virtual cluster deployment along with related utilities such as web-interface monitor and command line tools. To realize this infrastructure, an overlay network is created using Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology to merge every site into a single broadcast domain. Moreover, a Multi-tier VPN network topology is proposed to enhance the communication performance among the multi-site cloud. A smart virtual machine scheduling mechanism is introduced to reduce performance degradation caused by network delays. The experimental results show that the virtual cluster works well with highly parallel task with low communication among task. Thus, this technology can be used to support many classes of important HPC applications.

Knowledge governance analyses to what extent knowledge processes are influenced by governance mechanisms. A number of advances have been made in this field, but much space remains for research. However, before advancing in this direction, we must have a tool to direct efforts and provide a certain notion of the progress made in research. This paper proposes a matrix that brings knowledge management processes into relation with knowledge governance objectives (ProGOb matrix). This matrix provides information about which knowledge processes affect which governance objectives, and to what extent. The ProGOb matrix can be highly useful in the current tendency towards the Web 2.0, where knowledge distribution requires knowledge governance which has clear objectives and takes specific actions. © 2012 AISTI.

This paper proposes a new algebraic system, Test Algebra (TA), for identifying faults in combinatorial testing for SaaS (software-as-a-Service) applications. SaaS as a part of cloud computing is a new software delivery model, and mission-critical applications are composed, deployed, and executed in cloud platforms. Testing SaaS applications is a challenging task because new applications need to be tested when they are composed before they can be deployed for execution. Combinatorial testing algorithms can be used to identify faulty configurations and interactions from 2-way all the way to k-way where k is the number of components in the application. The TA defines rules to identify faulty configurations and interactions. Using the rules defined in the TA, a collection of configurations can be tested concurrently in different servers and in any order and the results obtained will be still same due to the algebraic constraints.
