A major aspect of mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is that the nodes move randomly, which requires the routing protocols in ad-hoc network to quickly respond to the network topology change in order to guarantee successful data packet delivery. MAODV (multicast ad hoc on-demand distance vector) routing protocol provides fast and efficient route establishment between mobile nodes that need to communicate with each other in MANET. MAODV has minimal control overhead and route acquisition latency. In addition to unicast routing, MAODV supports multicast and broadcast as well. In this paper, we present an entropy-based long-life multicast routing protocol in MAODV (EMAODV). The key idea of EMAODV algorithm is to construct the new metric-entropy and select the long-life multicast routing with the help of entropy metric to reduce the number of route reconstruction in MANET. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach and parameters provide an accurate and efficient method of estimating and evaluating the route stability in dynamic mobile networks.

Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs), a single DNA base varying from one individual to another, are believed to be the most frequent form responsible for genetic differences. Genotype is the conflated information of a pair of haplotypes on homologous chromosomes. Although haplotypes have more information for disease associating than individual SNPs and genotype, it is substantially more difficult to determine haplotypes through experiments. Hence, computational methods which can reduce the cost of determining haplotypes become attractive alternatives. MEC, as a standard model for haplotype reconstruction, is fed by fragments as input to infer the best pair of haplotypes with minimum error to be corrected. It is proved that haplotype reconstruction in MEC model is a NP-Hard problem. Thus, reducing running time and obtaining acceptable result are desired by researchers. Heuristic algorithms and different clustering methods are employed to achieve these goals. In this paper, the idea of combining different methods is presented. A hybrid model, which is employed the efficiency of different serial and parallel models, is suggested. FCA, K-means and neural network are considered as its component. K-means clustering method is used to improve neural network efficiency. Then the results are compared in different datasets. © 2008 IEEE.

Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are networks with selforganizing capabilities and without a fixed infrastructure. Wireless nodes communicate among themselves using multi-hop radio relaying, without requiring the packets to pass through a central access point or a base station. In a highly mobile and infrastructure-less scenario, pre-configuration of addresses is not possible. Therefore node addresses need to be configured dynamically with minimum delay and packet loss. Existing solutions for IP address auto-configuration do not address security issues. In this paper we propose a secure address autoconfiguration for Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) based on Virtual Address Space Mapping [1]. Without any proper authentication mechanism, a malicious node can affect the normal behavior of protocol. Therefore, this approach uses cryptography functions (one-way hash function and symmetric cryptography) to encountering of the all possible address auto-configuration attacks. The scheme uses virtual address space for addressing new nodes joining a network. The aim is to map one point from virtual address sheet to exactly one new node. The reason for using the term "virtual" is that the whole corresponding address space is a 2D flat sheet and each point of this sheet is virtually mapped to a node in MANET. The protocol uses coordinate values for generating addresses. Behavioral simulation had been used for analyzing of the protocol performance. Copyright © 2008 ACM.

Recently, there has been great interest in Bio informatics among researches from various disciplines such as computer science, mathematics, statistics and artificial intelligence. Bioinformatics mainly deals with solving biological problems at molecular levels. One of the classic problems of bioinformatics which has gain a lot attention lately is Haplotyping, the goal of which is categorizing SNP-fragments into two clusters and deducing a haplotype for each. Since the problem is proved to be NP-hard, several computational and heuristic methods have addressed the problem seeking feasible answers. In this work it is shown that using PCM to solve Haplotyping problem in DALY dataset yields better results comparing to current available methods. © 2008 IEEE.

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are networks with self-organizing capabilities and without a fixed infrastructure. Wireless nodes communicate among themselves using multi-hop radio relaying, without requiring the packets to pass through a central access point or a base station. Routing is a function of speed and stability with which the nodes are able to acquire addresses. Efficient routing forms the basis of a fast and reliable communication network. In a highly mobile and infrastructure-less scenario, pre-configuration of addresses is not possible. Therefore node addresses need to be configured dynamically with minimum delay and packet loss. The main task of an address auto-configuration protocol is to manage the resource address space. It must be able to select, allocate, and assign a unique network address to an un-configured node. This paper proposes a new address auto-configuration protocol for mobile ad hoc networks. The scheme uses virtual address space for addressing new nodes joining a network. The aim is to map one point from virtual address sheet to exactly one new node. The reason for using the term "virtual" is that the whole corresponding address space is a 2D flat sheet and each point of this sheet is virtually mapped to a node in MANET. The protocol uses coordinate values for generating addresses.

The performance investigation of different Bluetooth modules needs a module independent approach, which can be used in real time and which allows to consider different Bluetooth modules and communication modes. This paper will give a description of a special measurement approach that was developed and implemented. The performance-parameters Bluetooth-Packet-Delay, Bit Error Rate (BER) and Packet Loss Rate (PLR) are evaluated. A series of first investigations was conducted using the implemented measurement approach to show the evaluation possibilities. Two different Bluetooth modules for different packet types and packet sizes were used.

We study the issue of optimal deployment to achieve four connectivity and full coverage for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) under different ratios of sensors' communication range (denoted by r c ) to their sensing range (denoted by r s ). We propose a "Diamond" pattern, which can be viewed as a series of different evolving patterns. When r c /r s ges radic3, the Diamond pattern coincides with the well-known triangle lattice pattern; when r c /r s ges radic2, it degenerates to a "Square" pattern. We prove the Diamond pattern to be asymptotically optimal when r c /r s ges radic2- Our work is the first to propose an asymptotically optimal deployment pattern to achieve four connectivity and full coverage for WSNs. We hope our work will provide some insights on how optimal patterns evolve and how to search for them.

The security of wireless sensor networks is ever more important nowadays. Most of the proposed security protocols in wireless sensor networks are based on authentication and encryption. But all of them only address part of the problem of security in wireless sensor networks. Recently, the use of reputation and trust systems has become an important secure mechanism in wireless sensor networks. In this paper we propose a new protocol ETSN to construct a trust framework model in wireless sensor networks. The ETSN will be more suitable than ATSN and RFSN in wireless sensor networks. The simulation results and analysis show that our scheme not only can fast detect the malicious nodes and scale well for wireless sensor networks, but also can distinguish trust rating with different event.

Under deregulated environment, transmission networks are operated close to their constraints. In this situation, FACTS devices can be useful in secure system operation. Private investorpsilas goal is maximizing their investment surpluses. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for optimal location of FACTS devices that the objective function is maximizing FACTS device ownerpsilas surplus. According to this algorithm, maximum FACTS device capacities in transmission network are found which are acceptable economically and the priority of all acceptable projects are determine by calculating the rate of annual revenue and annual cost. The proposed algorithm has been implemented for optimal placement of TCSC on a nine buses test system and the results have been compared with other optimal location methods based on congestion management and increasing system load ability.
