Estimating Worst-Case Execution Time (WCET) as a regression problem has become increasingly challenging due to the complexity of modern hardware and software systems. Traditional statistical methods often fall short of providing accurate and reliable estimates. To address these limitations, ensemble learning methods have emerged as a promising approach for capturing edge cases in execution scenarios. This paper proposes a novel ensemble model that integrates fractional-order Legendre functions (FLF) to enrich feature representation. This integration reduces correlations between individual models within the ensemble, enhancing generalization capabilities. Our method achieves significant reductions in Mean Squared Error (MSE) for WCET estimates while maintaining high levels of safeness. Specifically, the proposed model maintained an error below one across most benchmarks, with safeness levels of %100 in 13 out of 16 benchmarks. These findings underscore the efficacy of our approach and its potential to provide robust and accurate WCET estimates for complex systems. © 2025 IEEE.

This paper explores the interplay between randomly generated structures, namely set families as well as second-order logic 0-1 laws, in security-related settings. The paper investigates how randomly generated structures can serve as powerful models for representing security properties of complex systems. By examining the 0-1 properties of these structures, conditions are stated which determine the presence or absence of specific security issues. The stated results provide a generic framework for studying insights into the probabilistic behavior of security attributes modeled by set families and mathematical logic with application potential in designing more robust systems. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The article presents an approach to storing and processing the results of industrial, laboratory, and computational experiments based on databases. The approach is presented on the example of the process of copolymerization of butadiene with styrene, which proceeds continuously in a cascade of series-connected ideal mixing reactors. A conceptual and logical database model of the industrial process under study has been created. The constructed structure can be adapted for other copolymerization processes, depending on the type of process, its formulation, and the process flow conditions. The presented physical model is implemented as a database and has been tested in the Microsoft SQL Server environment.

Probabilistic computing with p-bits is emerging as a computational paradigm for machine learning and for facing combinatorial optimization problems (COPs) with the so-called probabilistic Ising machines (PIMs). From a hardware point of view, the key elements that characterize a PIM are the random number generation, the nonlinearity, the network of coupled p-bits, and the energy minimization algorithm. Regarding the latter, in this work we show that PIMs using the simulated quantum annealing (SQA) schedule exhibit better performance as compared to simulated annealing and parallel tempering in solving a number of COPs, such as maximum satisfiability problems, planted Ising problem, and travelling salesman problem. Additionally, we design and simulate the architecture of a fully connected CMOS-based PIM able to run the SQA algorithm having a spin-update time of 8 ns with a power consumption of 0.22 mW. Our results also show that SQA increases the reliability and the scalability of PIMs by compensating for device variability at an algorithmic level enabling the development of their implementation combining CMOS with different technologies such as spintronics. This work shows that the characteristics of the SQA are hardware-agnostic and can be applied in the co-design of any hybrid analog-digital Ising machine implementation. Our results open a promising direction for the implementation of a new generation of reliable and scalable PIMs. © 2025, CC BY.

The article presents the issues of thematic modeling. The existing approaches for determining the optimal number of topics when working with text data are considered. Calculated metrics such as coherence score, perplexity. There are many widely used methods for determining topics when working with text data. But most of the methods are developed based on the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA). One of the main disadvantages of the probabilistic LDA model is the parameter θ, which the researcher must determine in advance, which is often impossible to know a priori. One of the main adopted strategies is the calculation of a series of LDA models with a different number of topics in a certain quantitative range, followed by the calculation of the quality metrics of the resulting topics. © 2023 IEEE.

Clinical Analogy Resolution Performance for Foundation Language Models

Using extensive data sources to create foundation language models has revolutionized the performance of deep learning-based architectures. This remarkable improvement has led to state-of-the-art results for various downstream NLP tasks, including clinical tasks. However, more research is needed to measure model performance intrinsically, especially in the clinical domain. We revisit the use of analogy questions as an effective method to measure the intrinsic performance of language models for the clinical domain in English. We tested multiple Transformer-based language models s over analogy questions constructed from the Unified Medical Language System (UMLS), a massive knowledge graph of clinical concepts. Our results show that large language models are significantly more performant for analogy resolution than small language models. Similarly, domain-specific language models perform better than general domain language models. We also found a correlation between intrinsic and extrinsic performance, validated through PubMedQA extrinsic task. Creating clinical-specific and language-specific language models is essential for advancing biomedical and clinical NLP and will ensure a valid application in clinical practice. Finally, given that our proposed intrinsic test is based on a term graph available in multiple languages, the dataset can be built to measure the performance of models in languages other than English. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

This work examines the entropy generation with heat and mass transfer in magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)stagnation point flow across a stretchable *** heat transport process is investigated with respect to the viscous dissipation and thermal radiation,whereas the mass transport is observed under the influence of a chemical *** irreversibe factor is measured through the application of the second law of *** established non-linear partial differential equations(PDEs)have been replaced by acceptable ordinary differential equations(ODEs),which are solved numerically via the bvp4 c method(built-in package in MATLAB).The numerical analysis of the resulting ODEs is carried out on the different flow parameters,and their effects on the rate of heat transport,friction drag,concentration,and the entropy generation are *** is determined that the concentration estimation and the Sherwood number reduce and enhance for higher values of the chemical reaction parameter and the Schmidt number,although the rate of heat transport is increased for the Eckert number and heat generation/absorption parameter,*** entropy generation augments with boosting values of the Brinkman number,and decays with escalating values of both the radiation parameter and the Weissenberg number.
