The effect of aligned magnetic field is numerically investigated for mixed convection flow of dusty Casson fluid over a stretching sheet. The governing equations of flow and heat transfer for the two-phase model (fluid and dust) with an appropriate thermal boundary condition which is Newtonian heating (NH) is presented. The similarity transformation is employed to transform the nonlinear governing equations for each phase into the ordinary differential equations which then solved numerically using Runge-Kutta Fehlberg (RKF45) method. Numerical solutions obtained for velocity and temperature distributions are illustrated through graph by varying several physical parameters. It is observed that the fluid velocity decreases with an increase in aligned magnetic field and particle-fluid interaction parameter.

Many children have special difficulties to interact with their counterparts, but use tablets and smartphones with resourcefulness. Cards with graphic symbols are very useful to assist communication. However, the teacher who works in a classroom with forty students in Brazil does not have time to train the special student to properly use this alternative means of communication. Therefore, this research developed and tested an application installed on a smartphone, which identified the communication card and verbalized its meaning, repeating this action as often as necessary without teacher intervention. It also allows one to test the knowledge of students. The system is based on a web application with source code developed by Google and electromagnetic sensors fixed on the cards. The functionality test showed good performance and usability and may be useful in the training of children with communication difficulties.

Evolutionary algorithms are metaheuristic algorithms that mimic biological mechanisms for the solution of optimization problems. They are widely used in many problems of engineering, including image analysis and pattern recognition. Such methods had shown added value in overcoming certain problems and limitations of more traditional methods and approaches. This is particularly interesting in Computer for designing faster and more accurate optimization methods. Despite recent advances in image registration, there is still room for improvement especially with the use of metaheuristic algorithms. In this paper, we present a novel method for solving the automated rigid registration problem by introducing a variant of the relatively new metaheuristic method called harmony search which shows promising results in difficult rigid registration cases.

Positioned between crystalline solids and liquids, disordered many-particle systems which are stealthy and hyperuniform represent new states of matter that are endowed with novel physical and thermodynamic properties. Such stealthy and hyperuniform states are unique in that they are transparent to radiation for a range of wave numbers around the origin. In this work, we employ recently developed inverse statistical-mechanical methods, which seek to obtain the optimal set of interactions that will spontaneously produce a targeted structure or configuration as a unique ground state, to investigate the spin-spin interaction potentials required to stabilize disordered stealthy hyperuniform one-dimensional (1D) Ising-type spin chains. By performing an exhaustive search over the spin configurations that can be enumerated on periodic 1D integer lattices containing N=2,3,...,36 sites, we were able to identify and structurally characterize all stealthy hyperuniform spin chains in this range of system sizes. Within this pool of stealthy hyperuniform spin configurations, we then utilized such inverse optimization techniques to demonstrate that stealthy hyperuniform spin chains can be realized as either unique or degenerate disordered ground states of radial long-ranged (relative to the spin-chain length) spin-spin interactions. Such exotic ground states appear to be distinctly different from spin glasses in both their inherent structural properties and the nature of the spin-spin interactions required to stabilize them. As such, the implications and significance of the existence of these disordered stealthy hyperuniform ground-state spin systems warrants further study, including whether their bulk physical properties and excited states, like their many-particle system counterparts, are singularly remarkable, and can be experimentally realized.
