This paper examines the reproducibility of massive information analytics under particular factors. The paper proposes the “performing Scalable Inference” technique to cope with scalability troubles and to exploit current big statistics platforms for efficient computing and statistics garage of the statistics. In particular, the paper describes how to perform leak-free, parallelizable visible analytics over massive datasets using present extensive records analytics frameworks such as Apache Flink. This method presents an automated manner to execute analytics that preserves reproducibility and the ability to make adjustments without re-running the entire technique. The paper also demonstrates how these analytics may help several real-world use instances, explore affected person cohorts for studies, and develop stratified patient cohorts for hospital therapy. In the end, the paper observes how the proposed method may be exercised within the real world. Actively scalable inference for massive information analytics is pivotal in optimizing decision-making and allocation of assets. Typically, such inferences are made based on information accumulated from numerous sources, databases, unstructured data, and different digital sources. So one can ensure scalability, a complete cloud-primarily based platform has to be hired. This solution will permit the ***, deploying the essential records series and evaluation algorithms are prime here. It could permit the platform to recognize the styles inside the statistics and discover any ability correlations or traits. Additionally, predictive analytics and system mastering strategies may be incorporated to provide insights into the results of the information. In the long run, by leveraging those techniques, the platform can draw efficient inferences and appropriately compare situations in an agile and green way..

Hyperuniformity of maximally random jammed packings of hyperspheres across spatial dimensions

The maximally random jammed (MRJ) state is the most random (i.e., disordered) configuration of strictly jammed (mechanically rigid) nonoverlapping objects. MRJ packings are hyperuniform, meaning their long-wavelength density fluctuations are anomalously suppressed compared to typical disordered systems, i.e., their structure factors S(k) tend to zero as the wave number |k| tends to zero. Here, we show that generating high-quality strictly jammed states for Euclidean space dimensions d = 3, 4, and 5 is of paramount importance in ensuring hyperuniformity and extracting precise values of the hyperuniformity exponent α > 0 for MRJ states, defined by the power-law behavior of S(k) ∼ |k|α in the limit |k| → 0. Moreover, we show that for fixed d it is more difficult to ensure jamming as the particle number N increases, which results in packings that are nonhyperuniform. Free-volume theory arguments suggest that the ideal MRJ state does not contain rattlers, which act as defects in numerically generated packings. As d increases, we find that the fraction of rattlers decreases substantially. Our analysis of the largest truly jammed packings suggests that the ideal MRJ packings for all dimensions d ≥ 3 are hyperuniform with α = d − 2, implying the packings become more hyperuniform as d increases. The differences in α between MRJ packings and recently proposed Manna-class random close packed (RCP) states, which were reported to have α = 0.25 in d = 3 and be nonhyperuniform (α = 0) for d = 4 and d = 5, demonstrate the vivid distinctions between the large-scale structure of RCP and MRJ states in these dimensions. Our paper clarifies the importance of the link between true jamming and hyperuniformity and motivates the development of an algorithm to produce rattler-free three-dimensional MRJ packings. © 2023, CC BY.

Background & Aims: Despite substantial efforts in promoting prevention and the advancements in surgical and minimally invasive techniques, breast cancer remains a leading cause of mortality among women worldwide. Genetics and risk factors, including diet and lifestyle, play a critical role in determining the susceptibility to this neoplasm. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the pivotal role of adherence to the Mediterranean diet in breast cancer prevention. Additionally, we assessed differences in diet, Body Mass Index (BMI), smoking and alcohol habits, work shifts, exposure to environmental pollutants, and hormonal factors between patients with previously diagnosed breast cancer and healthy subjects. Methods: The validated CREA questionnaire, alongside additional inquiries, was administered to the Italian population. Adherence to the Mediterranean diet was examined, and respondents were categorized into two groups: the general population and patients with a previous cancer diagnosis. Descriptive and inferential statistics were applied to assess all risk factors among these groups. Results: Results revealed low adherence to the Mediterranean diet, particularly among less educated individuals, those engaged in 24-hour shift work, smokers, and those with a high BMI. Furthermore, significant differences in working time distribution, consumption of meat, milk, and alcohol, as well as significant differences in hormonal factors such as age of menarche and menopause, age of first pregnancy, number of children and abortions, breastfeeding time, and contraceptive use were observed between these groups. Conclusions: These findings underscore the importance of targeted interventions and personalized strategies to address specific risk factors and enhance preventive measures for individuals at risk. © 2024 The Authors

The Role of Heterogeneity in Autonomous Perimeter Defense Problems

When is heterogeneity in the composition of an autonomous robotic team beneficial and when is it detrimental? We investigate and answer this question in the context of a minimally viable model that examines the role of heterogeneous speeds in perimeter defense problems, where defenders share a total allocated speed budget. We consider two distinct problem settings and develop strategies based on dynamic programming and on local interaction rules. We present a theoretical analysis of both approaches and our results are extensively validated using simulations. Interestingly, our results demonstrate that the viability of heterogeneous teams depends on the amount of information available to the defenders. Moreover, our results suggest a universality property: across a wide range of problem parameters the optimal ratio of the speeds of the defenders remains nearly constant. A classical electrochemistry problem related to the polarization of a graphene electrode immersed inan aqueous solution and subjected to a small external ac voltage is revisited. The Poisson-Nernst-Planck equations with proper boundary conditions are linearized and normalized, leading to ananalytical formula for the impedance of the electrochemical system containing a graphene-metalelectrode pair. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is utilized to compare the impedance behaviorof the graphene-metal electrode pair with the standard metal-metal electrode pair for a range ofion concentrations in the electrolyte. Also studied is the electrochemical capacitive spectroscopy toprovide a detailed analysis related to the effects of the quantum capacitance of graphene on the totalcapacitive properties of the system. © 2023, The Authors. Complexity measures for neural networks with general activation functions using path-based norms

A simple approach is proposed to obtain complexity controls for neural networks with general activation functions. The approach is motivated by approximating the general activation functions with one-dimensional ReLU networks, which reduces the problem to the complexity controls of ReLU networks. Specifically, we consider two-layer networks and deep residual networks, for which path-based norms are derived to control complexities. We also provide preliminary analyses of the function spaces induced by these norms and a priori estimates of the corresponding regularized estimators. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. This study aimed to determine the potential of coffee skin waste (Coffea robusta L) as a superior compost innovation for the growth of pepper-cutting seedlings (Piper nigrum L). This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design using five treatments and five repeats, variations in the dose of coffee skin waste used P0 (control), P1 (90 g), P2 (135 g), P3 (180 g), and P4 (225 g). The shoot height, number of leaves, number of roots, and length of roots were measured. The results showed that coffee skin waste compost significantly affected shoot height, especially at P1 (90 g), resulting in an average growth height of 7.24 cm. In addition, the highest number of leaves was found at a concentration of P1 (90 g), with an average of two leaves. Although there was no significant effect on the number of roots, the concentration of P1 (90 g) yielded the best results, with an average of 33 root blades, and the best root length was obtained at the concentration of P1 (90 g), with an average of 44.6 cm. Therefore, coffee skin waste significantly influenced shoot height and the number of leaves on pepper-cut seedlings (Piper nigrum L.) in the P1 treatment (90 g).

The advancement of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has revolutionized data acquisition and processing in critical care settings. Given the pivotal role of ventilators, accurately predicting extubation outcomes is essential to optimize patient care. This study presents an edge computing-based framework that incorporates machine learning algorithms to predict ventilator extubation success using real-time data collected directly from ventilators. The system was deployed on edge devices to enable on-site inference with minimal latency. Among the evaluated models, Random Forest and XGBoost, the latter demonstrated superior predictive performance under both holdout and tenfold cross-validation schemes. Notably, the edge-based architecture reduced server data transmissions by 83.33%, while improving system stability, resilience, and sustainability. This paper details the model evaluation and demonstrates the feasibility and efficiency of edge intelligence in ventilator weaning decision support. © The Author(s) 2025.

We develop a mathematical model for adsorption based on averaging the flow around, and diffusion inside, adsorbent particles in a column. The model involves three coupled partial differential equations for the contaminant concentration both in the carrier fluid and within the particle as well as the adsorption rate. The adsorption rate is modelled using the Sips equation, which is suitable for describing both physical and chemical adsorption mechanisms. Non-dimensionalisation is used to determine the controlling parameter groups as well as to determine negligible terms and so reduce the system complexity. The inclusion of intra-particle diffusion introduces new dimensionless parameters to those found in standard works, including a form of internal Damköhler number and a new characteristic time scale. We provide a numerical method for the full model and show how in certain situations a travelling wave approach can be utilized to find analytical solutions. The model is validated against available experimental data for the removal of Mercury(II) and CO2. On quasisymmetric plasma equilibria sustained by small force

We construct smooth, non-symmetric plasma equilibria which possess closed, nested flux surfaces and solve the Magnetohydrostatic (steady three-dimensional incompressible Euler) equations with a small force. The solutions are also ‘nearly’ quasisymmetric. The primary idea is, given a desired quasisymmetry direction ξ, to change the smooth structure on space so that the vector field ξ is Killing for the new metric and construct ξ–symmetric solutions of the Magnetohydrostatic equations on that background by solving a generalized Grad-Shafranov equation. If ξ is close to a symmetry of Euclidean space, then these are solutions on flat space up to a small forcing. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.
