Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) are bioelectrochemical instruments that exploit living microbes as biocatalysts for the conversion of chemical energy stored in the bonds of substrates into electrical energy. Monitoring of current or voltage generation in microbial fuel cells at rigid time intervals is noteworthy. Unfortunately, bioelectrochemical studies are often constrained due to the need for expensive and precise devices for electrochemical measurements. Utilization of low-cost microcontroller as monitoring system can be a considerable solution, compared with data logger that is a high-cost device, or compared with commercial multimeter that have to be used manually in collecting data. In this present work, microbial fuel cells electricity generation was successfully online monitored and the voltage data was also successfully collected using an ESP32 based-data logger. Statistically, there was no significant difference between ESP32 and multimeter in voltage reading, and the average of absolute and relative error values were 0.85 mV and 2.72%, respectively. It suggested that ESP32 could be a possible and low-cost monitoring system for microbial fuel cells bioelectricity generation. Additionally, ADS1115 (an external analogue to digital converter interface to ESP32) has up to four analogue channels, whereas multimeter has just one. In this research, microbial fuel cell powered by isolate KCf1 generated highest voltage value of 789 mV and power density of 541 mW m⁻². © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Iranian Society of Environmentalists (IRSEN) and Science and Research Branch, Islamic Azad University 2023.

High-entropy ceramics with vacancy and pores show abnormal lattice thermal conductivity with temperature. In this work, we conduct the machine learning interatomic potentials in combination with the classical molecular dynamics to study the mechanism of lattice thermal conductivity in (NbTaZr)C medium entropy ceramics with different carbon vacancies and porous defects. The trained neuroevolution potentials excellently reproduce the ab initio calculations. Results indicate that both vacancy and pore can enhance the phonon scattering at low- and middle frequency ranges, reduce the phonon lifetime, shift from acoustic to defect scattering, and make the phonon vibration modes localized. Further, they decrease the temperature dependence of lattice thermal conductivity. We find that propagation-type phonons dominate the thermal conductivity in the perfect structure, whereas diffusion-type phonons become predominant incarbon-vacancy and porous (NbTaZr)C. © 2024, The Authors. Every human being has the basic need for clean drinking water, however 1.1 billion people worldwide do not have access to it. While there are other methods for purifying water, including filtration, reverse osmosis, UV light, and carbon absorption, but distillation and boiling are the most dependable. Distillation is a vital method of purifying water, particularly in areas where tap water or water resources are unfit for human consumption without chemical or heating treatment. This review discusses the recent advances in water distillation. The techniques employed and challenges involved have also been discussed. Finally, the future direction of technology in this regard has been reviewed.

Red emitting phosphors play a significant role in accelerating the improvement of illumination quality for white light emitting diodes(WLEDs).In this work,by using solid-state reaction method,an efficient novel Ba_(2)LuNbO_(6):Eu^(3+)phosphor with double-perovskite structure was successfully ***,a series of Ba_(2)LuNbO_(6):Eu^(3+)red phosphors can be efficiently pumped by the near-ultraviolet(UV)light and then present high-brightness at orange emission(598 nm,~5D_(0)→~7 F_(1))and red emission(610 nm,~5D_(0)→~7 F_(2)).The ratio values of 610 to 598 nm in Ba_(2)LuNbO_(6):Eu^(3+)phosphors exceed 1 when the content of Eu^(3+)is larger than 0.4 mol,because the occupation of Eu^(3+)ions is changed from Lu^(3+)ions with symmetric sites to Ba^(2+)ions with asymmetric ***,the optimized concentration of Eu^(3+)at the~5D_(0)→~7 F_(2)transitions is obtained when x=1,indicating that there is non-concentration quenching in Ba_(2)LuNbO_(6):Eu^(3+)***,the CIE chromaticity coordinates of Ba_(2)LuNbO_(6):Eu^(3+)was calculated to be(0.587,0.361),the color purity was calculated to be 72.26%and internal quenching efficiency(IQE)was measured to be 67%.Finally,the thermal stability of Ba_(2)LuNbO_(6):Eu^(3+)phosphors was also *** work demonstrates that the novel double-perovskite red-emitting Ba_(2)LuNbO_(6):Eu^(3+)phosphors are prospective red emitting elements for WLEDs applications.

Performance analysis of solar energy based passive water purification system

Since earth surface comprises of more than 70% of water but the large part of this water is not suitable for human consumption due to salinity. The amount of fresh water availability is even less than 1 %. Since a large part of available fresh water is locked in glaciers a very little amount of fresh water is within human reach. As we know human population is growing at an alarming rate so the demand of water consumption is growing. One promising solution to solve this water crisis is to desalinate the saline water. So to meet this demand a large scale water purification system can be installed in those areas where brackish or saline water is available. A solar still is a quite economical and promising technique to desalinate the saline water in far reaching places. It works on the principle of evaporation and condensation. This system does not require much maintenance and works on negligible running cost. Present work shows the comparative study of performances of passive solar still with and without nanofluid. As we know nanofluids have quite peculiar properties so when they use in passive solar stills in place of conventional fluids inside the basin liner the result shows remarkable enhancement in various performance parameters. As we know passive solar still does not use any external device or source of energy, hence it uses only the energy coming from sun for purification purpose. The use of nanofluid material amplifies the amount of pure water. So lots of research is being carried out to identify newer materials by which novel nanomaterials can be manufactured. This large amount of purified water can be used not only for drinking purpose but also for industry, laboratory, and irrigation purpose also. © 2021

The production method and the exterior variables affecting the polymer are closely correlated with aging. If high temperature tubes for switchboard busbar can retain outstanding technical and electrical characteristics even during prolonged use primarily relies on the generally pro functionality. In this study, the switchboard busbars of 10 and 35 in the power grids of the Tianjin Power Network were utilized with the examples that were gathered. 10 tubes have been operational for 1, 2, and 9 years, while 35 tubes have been operational for 4, and 6 years, correspondingly. In addition, two additional types of unutilized examples were selected for comparison with the older ones. Sensitivity, thermal diffusivity, and diffusion coefficient tests were performed to determine the degree of aging. At cellar temperature, it was possible to measure the nonlinear response of relative permittivity under output power and compute the disintegration properties under amperage and the trap diffusion. To further evaluate the surface strength, shear modulus experiments, incl yielding confidence and extension at break, were conducted. The data indicate that whereas the impact resistance declines with working time, the coefficient of permeability and discharge factor rise. The decrease in breakup durability and resistance suggests that long-term natural aging has a negative impact on shielding capacity. The prosecution's findings also demonstrate a relationship between the working duration and the trap dispersion and electrical characteristics. © 2023 IEEE.

Circular dichroism (CD) is extensively used in various material systems for applications including biological detection,enantioselective catalysis,and chiral *** paper introduces a chiral absorptive metasurface that exhibits a circular polarization-selective effect in dual bands-positive and negative CD peaks at short wavelengths and long wavelengths,***,we uncover that this phenomenon extends beyond the far-field optical response,as it is also observed in the photothermal effect and the dynamics of thermally induced fluid *** carefully engineering the metasurface design,we achieve two distinct CD signals with high g factors (1) at the wavelengths of 877 nm and 1045 nm,*** findings presented in this study advance our comprehension of CD and offer promising prospects for enhancing chiral light–matter interactions in the domains of nanophotonics and optofluidics.
