This study provides a review of the current state of research on TAM projects in the petrochemical industry, identifying key contributors, active publication sources, and challenges that need to be addressed for successful project execution. Utilizing R Studio software, bibliometric and content analysis were conducted on 63 research papers published between 2004 and 2024. The study identifies key challenges, including the need for improved risk management, enhanced collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, and the integration of advanced technologies. The results indicated the management of the shutdown process, risk management during the shutdown process and the resources intensive tasks as integral to TAM projects. This review highlights the need for ongoing research to address existing gaps and drive innovation in TAM practices, ultimately aiming to optimize maintenance strategies, improve operational safety, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the petrochemical industry.
