Modern systems and methods of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) and Non Destructive Testing (NDT) require new types of transducers. In this paper, a new type of Lamb Wave transducer, the Tunable Interdigital Transducer (T-IDT), developed at AGH University of Science and Technology, is presented and its sensing capabilities are discussed based on experimental tests. The properties of the proposed transducer are similar to those of a traditional Interdigital Transducer (IDT), except for its ability to change the wavelength to which the transducer is tuned without introducing any physical changes in the electrode layout. In the paper, three sets of experiments are presented. The first two determine the ability of the transducer to measure the distance of damage from the transducer. The last set of experiments investigates the angular sensitivity of the proposed transducer for modelled damage. The presented results are compared to ones obtained with a traditional IDT.

In this study,we hypothesized that Piezo 1 channels mediate the compression-enhanced invasive phenotype of cancer cells via a caveolae-dependent *** test this hypothesis,we examined in vitro cultured human breast cancer cells for their ability to invade and degrade extracellular matrix in the presence or absence of compressive stress, together with corresponding changes in Piezo1 as well as cytoskeletal remodeling and calcium *** we show that compressive stress enhanced invasion, matrix degradation, and invadopodia formation of breast cancer *** further identified Piezo1 as the putative mechanosensitive cellular component that transmits compression to induce calcium influx, which in turn triggers several downstream ***,for the first time we observed inv-adopodia with matrix degradation ability on the apical side of the cells, similar to those commonly observed at the cell s ventral ***,we demonstrate that Piezo1 and caveolae were both involved in mediating the compressive stress-induced cancer cell invasive phenotype as Piezo 1 and caveolae were often colocalized, and reduction of Cav-1 expression or disruption of caveolae with methyl-β-cyclodextrin led to not only reduced Piezo1 expression but also attenuation of the invasive phenotypes promoted by compressive *** together,we first observed that in breast cancer cells, simulating uncontrolled growth-induced compressive stress enhanced cancer cell invasion, matrix degradation, and invadopodia and stress fiber *** study also confirmed that Piezo1 channels are highly expressed in breast cancer cells compared to normal breast cells, and is consistent with the data that compressive stress regulates cell migration of breast cancer cells but not normal breast ***,we identified that Piezol mediated these processes and the invasive phenotypes also depended on the integrity of *** findings provide the first demonstration that compres

Biomass, the feedstock for conversion into bioenergy, can come from forestry, agricultural, urban, industrial, or animal environments. Energy from biomass can be produced by direct combustion or, converted into biofuels through bioconversion or thermoconversion processes, such as biogases (methane, hydrogen), bioethanol, biodiesel, and others. This study aimed to provide a bibliometric and systematic literature analysis of low-carbon hydrogen and bioenergy systems. A combination of the keywords "biomass," "renewable," "anaerobic digestion" or "biodigestion," and "H2" or "hydrogen" were used. The study covered the period from 2002 to 2022. After applying filters and considering the topic's relevance in current discussions, 49 works were selected and analyzed in detail. The scientific community has shown increasing interest in this field in recent years, with efforts focused on bioenergy, energy sources renewables, and climate change. Several studies, from theoretical models to experimental, were conducted at both laboratory and industrial scales, and agricultural or urban settings. In addition to anaerobic digestion, other conversion processes were explored, such as coupled or isolated dark fermentation and photo-fermentation, particularly when using algal biomass as feedstock. Co-digestion with animals, vegetable, or algae substrates was also discussed. In terms of bibliometrics, the growth trend of research has been since 2017. The increase in articles featuring practical, methodological, and technological innovations led to diverse technological and biomass arrangements. The integration of cascade bioprocesses represents a significant step toward optimizing bioenergy production. This work highlights the trends in low-carbon hydrogen production, particularly through the techniques, technologies, and substrates in various production setup combinations. However, there is still a need for research on the financial and economic aspects of investments and operations in

We present a novel control strategy for dynamic legged locomotion in complex scenarios that considers information about the morphology of the terrain in contexts when only on-board mapping and computation are available. The strategy is built on top of two main elements: first a contact sequence task that provides safe foothold locations based on a convolutional neural network to perform fast and continuous evaluation of the terrain in search of safe foothold locations; then a model predictive controller that considers the foothold locations given by the contact sequence task to optimize target ground reaction forces. We assess the performance of our strategy through simulations of the hydraulically actuated quadruped robot HyQReal traversing rough terrain under realistic on-board sensing and computing conditions.

Reactive synthesis [1]is used to synthesize a provably-correct strategy (controller) with respect to a given Linear Temporal Logic (LTL) specification in a dynamic, potentially adversarial environment. The core idea of reactive synthesis is to model the interaction between a controlled agent (called the robot) and its dynamic and uncontrollable environment as a two-player turn-based zero-sum game. In particular, players' Boolean payoffs are specified by temporal logic formulas [2]-a rich language that can expressive properties such as safety, liveness, stability, and temporally extended goals.

In order to solve the problem that it is difficult to determine the occurrence probability of FMECA process failure in the manufacturing stage of CNC machine tools and there is no reasonable scientific basis when RPN is obtained, fuzzy mathematics theory and data envelopment analysis DEA are applied to the research of FMECA in the manufacturing stage of CNC machine tools. Considering the technological requirements and fault probability, fuzzy interval method to determine risk factors of degrees, using the data envelopment analysis method to evaluate the potential failure mode to get the efficiency value, to modify the traditional RPN, put forward a new method for calculating risk priority number of RPN, and then to sort of process failure mode, Find defects and weak links in production process and provide reference for improvement of production process. Taking the assembly process of a machining center as an example, the proposed method was applied to analyze the fault mode and its influence, and the effectiveness of the proposed method was verified.
