The development of legal records requires extra time and their absurd length raises the need for programmed legal record handling frameworks. One of the handling steps is to recognize the essence of the reports expressions for legitimate case records. A computerized framework that could help a legal professional in anticipating the result of a case would help facilitate the legal interaction. For such a framework to be essentially valuable, expectations by the framework ought to be reasonable. To advance exploration in growing such a framework, this paper presents the Indian Legal Judgment Dataset (ILJD). ILJD is a huge corpus of 35k Indian Supreme Legal disputes commented on with unique court choices. A part of the corpus (a different test set) is commented on with best quality level clarifications by lawful specialists. © 2023 IEEE.

Kidney disease (KD) is a gradually increasing global health concern. It is a chronic illness linked to higher rates of morbidity and mortality, a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and numerous other illnesses, and expensive medical expenses. The machine learning (ML) models are applied for KD prediction with higher accuracy and precision. The KD dataset has uncertainty and vague information, so, we used the neutrosophic set (NS) to deal with vague and uncertainty information in the KD dataset. The KD dataset is converted into the N-KD dataset with three membership functions: truth, indeterminacy, and falsity. Three ML models are used in this study such as logistic regression (LR), support vector machine (SVM), and k-nearest neighbor (KNN). These ML models are applied to the N-KD dataset. The results show the LR has higher accuracy and precision on the N-KD dataset than the original KD dataset. © 2025, University of New Mexico. All rights reserved.

Tomatoes are essential fruits in numerous nations for their vast demand. It is very important to maintain the freshness of tomatoes. One of the primary challenges in the recent culinary landscape is accurately identifying healthy tomatoes while effectively eliminating damaged or rejected ones. Existing approaches employ various strategies for categorizing tomato fruit, but they often suffer from inaccuracies, slow detection, and suboptimal performance. Thus, motivated by this gap, in this paper, we propose a novel machine learning (ML) framework, ViT-SENet-Tom, which is a hybrid vision transformer (ViT) model with squeeze and excitation (SENet) block network for fast, accurate, and efficient tomato fruit classification. The framework works on three tomato classes, respectively, the ripe, unripe, and reject. In developing the proposed model, we utilized advanced and newly designed layers and functions. This integration created a more complex and sophisticated neural network, significantly enhancing efficiency and contributing to the model’s novelty. Our chosen dataset was small initially, but we implemented augmentation techniques to increase its size. This approach made our system more reliable, efficient, and effective. The hybrid ViT-SENet framework employs encoders and self-attention networks with squeeze and excitation channel functions to allow precise, robust, fast, and efficient tomato classification. In simulation, the framework achieves a training accuracy of 99.87% and validation accuracy of 93.87%, indicating the precise classification of tomatoes. Besides, this work tests accuracy using fivefold cross-validation. The highest accuracy seen at fold-5 is 99.90%. These testing results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed framework in real-deployment scenarios. The implementation has the potential to provide enhanced and more sustainable food security and safety in future. © The Author(s) 2025.

Big data has emerged very fast, and this has brought both opportunities and problems that are related to the application of deep learning. This paper explores how deep learning can be implemented using big data and in particular the Apache Mahout library. Unlike most other machine learning tools, Mahout can perform distributed computation, especially while using the MapReduce frameworks including Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark. However, this study does not only focus on the explanation of the need for Mahout's integration and employment but also carries out a high-fidelity argument on how deep learning algorithms can be incorporated in the Mahout framework to optimize the manipulation of large and complicated datasets. Mahout-based contributions include the comparative analysis of key deep learning paradigms including distributed processing, parallel processing and transfer learning. This paper also includes examples of the Mahout deep learning integration use and its application in real contexts. This article describes the challenges that currently organizations face in handling big data and indeed, the potential threats these challenges pose to the success of deep learning techniques when used in organizations' big data processing and analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

Performance analysis of Jute/Kenaf fiber polyester hybrid composites for non-structural applications

High-performance mechanical properties and environmental benefits are demonstrated by natural fiber (NF)-reinforced polymer composites. The study created Jute fiber (JF) and Kenaf fiber (KF) reinforced polyester hybrid composites using hot compression molding. The composites were analyzed and studied for their physical, mechanical, and tribological properties and water absorption rate. The study aimed to identify a significant hybrid of NF reinforced polymer composites suitable for commercial applications in engineering. Analyzed several mechanical properties including tensile strength, flexural strength, compression strength, impact strength and hardness. The fractured areas of the tensile sample were examined with a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The water absorption properties were assessed by submerging the composite samples in distilled water and determining the percentage of water penetration. The tribological behavior was assessed using a pin-on-disc (POD) tribometer to estimate the coefficient of friction (COF) and Specific wear rate (SWR). The study concluded that hybrid composites outperformed single-fiber composites in all forms. The hybrid composite consisting of 25% Jute/5% Kenaf/70% VE shown substantial improvements in mechanical properties as compared to the pure resin sample: a 106.2% rise in TS, 111.8% in FS, 27.5% in compression strength, 59.3% in impact strength, and 115.4% in hardness. The results show that combining Jute and Kenaf fibers with a polyester matrix improves mechanical properties, making it suitable for non-structural electrical and electronics insulating board and component applications. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

A semi-supervised deep neuro-fuzzy iterative learning system for automatic segmentation of hippocampus brain MRI

The hippocampus is a small, yet intricate seahorse-shaped tiny structure located deep within the brain’s medial temporal lobe. It is a crucial component of the limbic system, which is responsible for regulating emotions, memory, and spatial navigation. This research focuses on automatic hippocampus segmentation from Magnetic Resonance (MR) images of a human head with high accuracy and fewer false positive and false negative rates. This segmentation technique is significantly faster than the manual segmentation methods used in clinics. Unlike the existing approaches such as UNet and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), the proposed algorithm generates an image that is similar to a real image by learning the distribution much more quickly by the semi-supervised iterative learning algorithm of the Deep Neuro-Fuzzy (DNF) technique. To assess its effectiveness, the proposed segmentation technique was evaluated on a large dataset of 18,900 images from Kaggle, and the results were compared with those of existing methods. Based on the analysis of results reported in the experimental section, the proposed scheme in the Semi-Supervised Deep Neuro-Fuzzy Iterative Learning system (SS-DNFIL) achieved a 0.97 Dice coefficient, a 0.93 Jaccard coefficient, a 0.95 sensitivity (true positive rate), a 0.97 specificity (true negative rate), a false positive value of 0.09 and a 0.08 false negative value when compared to existing approaches. Thus, the proposed segmentation techniques outperform the existing techniques and produce the desired result so that an accurate diagnosis is made at the earliest stage to save human lives and to increase their life span. © 2024 the Author(s),

Object segmentation and recognition is an imperative area of computer vision andmachine learning that identifies and separates individual objects within an image or video and determines classes or categories based on their *** proposed system presents a distinctive approach to object segmentation and recognition using Artificial Neural Networks(ANNs).The system takes RGB images as input and uses a k-means clustering-based segmentation technique to fragment the intended parts of the images into different regions and label thembased on their ***,two distinct kinds of features are obtained from the segmented images to help identify the objects of *** Artificial Neural Network(ANN)is then used to recognize the objects based on their *** were carried out with three standard datasets,MSRC,MS COCO,and Caltech 101 which are extensively used in object recognition research,to measure the productivity of the suggested *** findings from the experiment support the suggested system’s validity,as it achieved class recognition accuracies of 89%,83%,and 90.30% on the MSRC,MS COCO,and Caltech 101 datasets,respectively.

Airplanes are a social necessity for movement of humans,goods,and *** are generally safe modes of transportation;however,incidents and accidents occasionally *** prevent aviation accidents,it is necessary to develop a machine-learning model to detect and predict commercial flights using automatic dependent surveillance–broadcast *** study combined data-quality detection,anomaly detection,and abnormality-classification-model *** research methodology involved the following stages:problem statement,data selection and labeling,prediction-model development,deployment,and *** data labeling process was based on the rules framed by the international civil aviation organization for commercial,jet-engine flights and validated by expert commercial *** results showed that the best prediction model,the quadratic-discriminant-analysis,was 93%accurate,indicating a“good fit”.Moreover,the model’s area-under-the-curve results for abnormal and normal detection were 0.97 and 0.96,respectively,thus confirming its“good fit”.
