A large number of areas of application of geographic information systems (GIS) involves the continuous accumulation data. The need to record the state of an observed object or phenomenon generates an intense flow of heterogeneous data over long-time intervals. The period of storage of the received information in many cases is not limited and is limited solely technical capabilities of archiving information. For this reason, GIS databases correspond to modern ideas about big data (big data), since they have a significant volume that is constantly growing, are heterogeneous in presentation formats, and have a value determined by a reliable display of objects, phenomena and events of the real world. A new model of representation of the analysis workspace by two informational components, skeleton and environment, is proposed. The skeleton is formed by deterministic queries to the GIS database, the environment is built by intelligent procedures as a shell of the skeleton. The difference of the proposed concept is the use of a utility function, the parameters of which are the complexity of the skeleton and the environment. The application of the proposed concept allows optimizing the quality of decision-making by maximizing the utility function of the workspace. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

COVID-19 pandemic restrictions limited all social activities to curtail the spread of the *** foremost and most prime sector among those affected were schools,colleges,and *** education system of entire nations had shifted to online education during this *** shortcomings of Learning Management Systems(LMSs)were detected to support education in an online mode that spawned the research in Artificial Intelligence(AI)based tools that are being developed by the research community to improve the effectiveness of *** paper presents a detailed survey of the different enhancements to LMSs,which are led by key advances in the area of AI to enhance the real-time and non-real-time user *** AI-based enhancements proposed to the LMSs start from the Application layer and Presentation layer in the form of flipped classroom models for the efficient learning environment and appropriately designed UI/UX for efficient utilization of LMS utilities and resources,including AI-based *** layer enhancements are also required,such as AI-based online proctoring and user authentication using *** extend to the Transport layer to support real-time and rate adaptive encrypted video transmission for user security/privacy and satisfactory working of *** also needs the support of the Networking layer for IP-based geolocation features,the Virtual Private Network(VPN)feature,and the support of Software-Defined Networks(SDN)for optimum Quality of Service(QoS).Finally,in addition to these,non-real-time user experience is enhanced by other AI-based enhancements such as Plagiarism detection algorithms and Data Analytics.

Assessment of ChatGPT in extracting Arabic morphology: active and passive participles

ChatGPT is a language model that has been developed by Open AI. It has the ability to answer any question raised by a participant in a form of conservation. ChatGPT takes advantages of the effective transformers architecture to generate text discussions that are relevant and perceptive. Although ChatGPT was initially trained on English text data, it has also been fine-tuned on other languages including Spanish, French, Chinese, German and Arabic. ChatGPT has been employed in different NLP domains for English language, but specifically it is still slightly limited in languages other than English. In this research, we assess ChatGPT in extracting active participle (ism al-fa’il) and passive participle (ism al-maf’uul) from Arabic verbs of base forms (alfilu alsahih) and verbs with vowels (alfilu almutal) to help the non-native speakers who find it difficult to extract these participles and try to use ChaTGPT as a learning tool and get inaccurate responses. We experiment ChatGPT’s performance in zero-shot learning then with a wide range of prompt templates as well as few-shot learning. The results show a greet enhancement in the ChatGPT performance when tuning the rule-based prompts with k-shot examples especially for passive participle extraction. ChatGPT performed well in extracting participles from verbs without vowels, but after training with k-shot samples, it improved by 6% for active participles and 25% for passive participles. Additionally, extracting passive participles for verbs with vowels significantly improves performance compared to extracting active participles, especially the case when the vowels exist at two positions, which results in a 100% improvement. The performance of ChatGPT improved in extracting active participle for verbs with no vowels by 6% and passive participles by 25%. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The application of deep learning techniques in the medical field,specifically for Atrial Fibrillation(AFib)detection through Electrocardiogram(ECG)signals,has witnessed significant *** and timely diagnosis increases the patient’s chances of ***,issues like overfitting and inconsistent accuracy across datasets remain *** a quest to address these challenges,a study presents two prominent deep learning architectures,ResNet-50 and DenseNet-121,to evaluate their effectiveness in AFib *** aim was to create a robust detection mechanism that consistently performs *** such as loss,accuracy,precision,sensitivity,and Area Under the Curve(AUC)were utilized for *** findings revealed that ResNet-50 surpassed DenseNet-121 in all evaluated *** demonstrated lower loss rate 0.0315 and 0.0305 superior accuracy of 98.77%and 98.88%,precision of 98.78%and 98.89%and sensitivity of 98.76%and 98.86%for training and validation,hinting at its advanced capability for AFib *** insights offer a substantial contribution to the existing literature on deep learning applications for AFib detection from ECG *** comparative performance data assists future researchers in selecting suitable deep-learning architectures for AFib ***,the outcomes of this study are anticipated to stimulate the development of more advanced and efficient ECG-based AFib detection methodologies,for more accurate and early detection of AFib,thereby fostering improved patient care and outcomes.

Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD)is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by significant challenges in social interaction,communication,and repetitive *** and precise ASD detection is crucial,particularly in regions with limited diagnostic resources like *** study aims to conduct an extensive comparative analysis of various machine learning classifiers for ASD detection using facial images to identify an accurate and cost-effective solution tailored to the local *** research involves experimentation with VGG16 and MobileNet models,exploring different batch sizes,optimizers,and learning rate *** addition,the“Orange”machine learning tool is employed to evaluate classifier performance and automated image processing capabilities are utilized within the *** findings unequivocally establish VGG16 as the most effective classifier with a 5-fold cross-validation ***,VGG16,with a batch size of 2 and the Adam optimizer,trained for 100 epochs,achieves a remarkable validation accuracy of 99% and a testing accuracy of 87%.Furthermore,the model achieves an F1 score of 88%,precision of 85%,and recall of 90% on test *** validate the practical applicability of the VGG16 model with 5-fold cross-validation,the study conducts further testing on a dataset sourced fromautism centers in Pakistan,resulting in an accuracy rate of 85%.This reaffirms the model’s suitability for real-world ASD *** research offers valuable insights into classifier performance,emphasizing the potential of machine learning to deliver precise and accessible ASD diagnoses via facial image analysis.

M2auth: A multimodal behavioral biometric authentication using feature-level fusion

Conventional authentication methods, such as passwords and PINs, are vulnerable to multiple threats, from sophisticated hacking attempts to the inherent weaknesses of human memory. This highlights a critical need for a more secure, convenient, and user-friendly approach to authentication. This paper introduces M2auth, a novel multimodal behavioral biometric authentication framework for smartphones. M2auth leverages a combination of multiple authentication modalities, including touch gestures, keystrokes, and accelerometer data, with a focus on capturing high-quality, intervention-free data. To validate the efficacy of M2auth, we conducted a large-scale field study involving 52 participants over two months, collecting data from touch gestures, keystrokes, and smartphone sensors. The resulting dataset, comprising over 5.5 million action points, serves as a valuable resource for behavioral biometric research. Our evaluation involved two fusion scenarios, feature-level fusion and decision-level fusion, that play a pivotal role in elevating authentication performance. These fusion approaches effectively mitigate challenges associated with noise and variability in behavioral data, enhancing the robustness of the system. We found that the decision-level fusion outperforms the feature level, reaching a 99.98% authentication success rate and an EER reduced to 0.84%, highlighting the robustness of M2auth in real-world scenarios. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Examining the impact of link failures and network performance on a 6to4, 6rd, CHANC and D4across6 tunneling-based networks using various routing protocols

The article discusses the importance of failure recovery in communication networks to ensure smooth and dependable service. It states that the performance of real-time applications has been negatively affected for years due to failed links, and thus it is crucial to address the issue to prevent collapse and cascading failures for both users and service providers. The paper then goes on to analyze the performance of a network by simulating the failure and recovery of network links for different time periods using the 6rd, CHANC, D4across6 and 6to4 tunneling network. Different routing protocols and tunneling techniques are employed to evaluate the performance of the network for the specific type of applications (i.e. video streaming and real-time voice). It also looks at different metrics, including data transfer rate, dropped traffic, and network convergence. Furthermore, the study delves into the examination of the route table properties of various routers and the IPv4 backbone when links between them experience repeated failures and recoveries. The purpose of this analysis is to anticipate network performance and to ensure network availability and accessibility of traffic through forecasting the network's ability to survive and recover from link failures. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

The rapid increase in vehicle traffic volume in modern societies has raised the need to develop innovative solutions to reduce traffic congestion and enhance traffic management *** advanced technology,such as Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS),enables improved traffic management,helps eliminate congestion,and supports a safer *** provides real-time information on vehicle traffic and transportation systems that can improve decision-making for road ***,ITS suffers from routing issues at the network layer when utilising Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks(VANETs).This is because each vehicle plays the role of a router in this network,which leads to a complex vehicle communication network,causing issues such as repeated link breakages between vehicles resulting from the mobility of the network and rapid topological *** may lead to loss or delay in packet transmissions;this weakness can be exploited in routing attacks,such as black-hole and gray-hole attacks,that threaten the availability of ITS *** this paper,a Blockchain-based smart contracts model is proposed to offer convenient and comprehensive security mechanisms,enhancing the trustworthiness between ***-Classification Blockchain-Based Contracts(SCBC)and Voting-Classification Blockchain-Based Contracts(VCBC)are utilised in the proposed *** results show that VCBC succeeds in attaining better results in PDR and TP performance even in the presence of Blackhole and Grayhole attacks.

Admissions examinations are crucial in shaping students' academic and career paths. Machine learning (ML) offers a promising avenue for transforming the assessment process in universities, schools, and colleges. This paper presents a new ML-based method to evaluate high school graduates seeking admission to eleven colleges across nine Yemeni universities, applicable to both scholarship and self-financing students. The proposed approach leverages several ML techniques, including Support Vector Machine (SVM), Logistic Regression (LR), Random Forest (RF), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Gradient Boosting (GB), Extra Trees (ET), Decision Tree (DT), AdaBoost, and XGBoost. In this study, ML algorithms were applied to admissions examinations at nine Yemeni universities, including Sana’a, Ibb, Dhamar, Amran, Jiblah, Mihwit, Al-Dhalea, Saada, and Hajjah. The dataset comprised 15,898 student applications for eleven colleges, encompassing both scholarship and self-financing programs. Experiment one evaluated the performance of various ML techniques. Gradient Boosting (GB) and Random Forest (RF) demonstrated superior results, achieving the highest accuracy, precision, recall, and F-score. Specifically, GB and RF attained 91.00% and 90.00% accuracy, 87.60% and 88.80% precision, 89.90% and 87.50% recall, and 89.30% and 87.60% F-score, respectively. Experiment two further refined the analysis, comparing ET and RF to other ML methods. ET and RF consistently outperformed LR, KNN, SVM, DT, GB, AdaBoost, and XGBoost. In this experiment, ET and RF achieved exceptional accuracy, precision, recall, and F-score rates of 99.00% and 99.00%, 97.50% and 97.20%, 98.00% and 97.80%, and 97.80% and 97.50%, respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

Mobile devices within Fifth Generation(5G)networks,typically equipped with Android systems,serve as a bridge to connect digital gadgets such as global positioning system,mobile devices,and wireless routers,which are vital in facilitating end-user communication ***,the security of Android systems has been challenged by the sensitive data involved,leading to vulnerabilities in mobile devices used in 5G *** vulnerabilities expose mobile devices to cyber-attacks,primarily resulting from security ***-permission apps in Android can exploit these channels to access sensitive information,including user identities,login credentials,and geolocation *** such attack leverages"zero-permission"sensors like accelerometers and gyroscopes,enabling attackers to gather information about the smartphone's *** underscores the importance of fortifying mobile devices against potential future *** research focuses on a new recurrent neural network prediction model,which has proved highly effective for detecting side-channel attacks in mobile devices in 5G *** conducted state-of-the-art comparative studies to validate our experimental *** results demonstrate that even a small amount of training data can accurately recognize 37.5％of previously unseen user-typed ***,our tap detection mechanism achieves a 92％accuracy rate,a crucial factor for text *** findings have significant practical implications,as they reinforce mobile device security in 5G networks,enhancing user privacy,and data protection.
