The utilization of Data-Driven Machine Learning (DDML) models in the healthcare sector poses unique challenges due to the crucial nature of clinical decision-making and its impact on patient outcomes. A primary concern in this domain is the data quality that forms the basis for these models, which is essential for their effectiveness. While numerous studies are dedicated to leveraging Machine Learning (ML) to enhance patient care, a substantial gap exists in understanding and evaluating the quality of training data before training ML models. This issue is exacerbated by the lack of well-defined standards to ensure that data characteristics align with the specific goals of ML in healthcare. To address this, our study introduces a conceptual three-dimensional framework focusing on data accuracy, completeness, and consistency aimed at assessing and improving the quality of training data. This framework is designed to enhance the performance, predictability, and interpretability of healthcare-specific ML models and reduce biases, thus bridging current research gaps and laying the groundwork for future developments in ML-driven healthcare systems. This paper presents the initial step for our proposed Data Quality Framework (DQF), which addresses the three dimensions mentioned above. It discusses its potential implications and applications in healthcare data, and its main goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of the proposed DQF, illustrating its significance in advancing healthcare data quality and ultimately improving patient outcomes. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

During the application development process, it is important for a developer to analyze user requirements. This is crucial to the success of interactive systems and is an essential component of the design of information systems. User requirement analysis aids developers in understanding and analyzing users' needs and technology requirements. Throughout this case study, it is able to forecast the understanding, and technology acceptance, and at the same time improve the quality of work, reducing training and support costing and perennially improve customer or user satisfaction. The method of research selected is questionnaires that focused on collecting the data directly from Malaysian farmers through Google Forms as an online medium. The method was chosen because it is easy to implement and inexpensive due to the current situation of Covid-19. The questionnaire is designed with two sections where;a) includes the participant's demography to analyze information of the intended audience while b)focused on the knowledge of participants about recognition images. Results demonstrate the farmer's opinion and knowledge of the technology of image recognition in the agriculture sector. The quantitative research was undertaken using an online platform due to the Covid-19 pandemic. From the analysis, it is justified that the technology Acceptance Model (TAM) together with the mobile farming image recognition app is useful in collecting farmers' feedback and positive results have an outcome on the challenges faced by the durian farmers. © 2023 IEEE.

Human Activity Recognition (HAR) is crucial for the development of intelligent assistive technologies in Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) environments. This paper proposes an innovative method for Multi-View Human Activity Recognition (MV-HAR) using lightweight deep learning models, specifically MobileNet and Cyclone-CNN (CCNet), to achieve quick and precise activity detection. Utilizing the Robot House Multi-View Human Activity Recognition (RHM-HAR) dataset, which contains four different views-front, back, ceiling (omni), and mobile robot-our models effectively address challenges related to viewpoint variation and motion dynamics. The dataset includes 14 multi-view daily living action classes, providing a balanced set of synchronized human actions suitable for multi-domain neural network learning. MobileNet and CCNet are employed for their high recognition accuracy, computational efficiency, and real-time application capabilities in AAL scenarios. We propose a Mutual information (MI)-based method to assess the redundancy and relevance of each viewpoint, ensuring the fusion of multi-view data with minimum redundancy and maximum relevance. Benchmarking results demonstrate that multi-view combinations significantly enhance recognition performance compared to single-view models, particularly in complex activities involving high levels of movement. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid development of Large Language Model (LLM) technology, it has become an indispensable force in biomedical data analysis research. However, biomedical researchers currently have limited knowledge about LLM. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a summary of LLM applications in biomedical data analysis. Herein, we propose this review by summarizing the latest research work on LLM in biomedicine. In this review, LLM techniques are first outlined. We then discuss biomedical datasets and frameworks for biomedical data analysis, followed by a detailed analysis of LLM applications in genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, radiomics, single-cell analysis, medical texts and drug discovery. Finally, the challenges of LLM in biomedical data analysis are discussed. In summary, this review is intended for researchers interested in LLM technology and aims to help them understand and apply LLM in biomedical data analysis research. © 2013 IEEE.

The increasing dependence on smartphones with advanced sensors has highlighted the imperative of precise transportation mode classification, pivotal for domains like health monitoring and urban planning. This research is motivated by the pressing demand to enhance transportation mode classification, leveraging the potential of smartphone sensors, notably the accelerometer, magnetometer, and gyroscope. In response to this challenge, we present a novel automated classification model rooted in deep reinforcement learning. Our model stands out for its innovative approach of harnessing enhanced features through artificial neural networks (ANNs) and visualizing the classification task as a structured series of decision-making events. Our model adopts an improved differential evolution (DE) algorithm for initializing weights, coupled with a specialized agent-environment relationship. Every correct classification earns the agent a reward, with additional emphasis on the accurate categorization of less frequent modes through a distinct reward strategy. The Upper Confidence Bound (UCB) technique is used for action selection, promoting deep-seated knowledge, and minimizing reliance on chance. A notable innovation in our work is the introduction of a cluster-centric mutation operation within the DE algorithm. This operation strategically identifies optimal clusters in the current DE population and forges potential solutions using a pioneering update mechanism. When assessed on the extensive HTC dataset, which includes 8311 hours of data gathered from 224 participants over two years. Noteworthy results spotlight an accuracy of 0.88±0.03 and an F-measure of 0.87±0.02, underscoring the efficacy of our approach for large-scale transportation mode classification tasks. With recent advances in technology protecting sensitive healthcare data is challenging. Particularly, one of the most serious issues with medical information security is protecting of medical content, such as the privacy of patients. As medical information becomes more widely available, security measures must be established to protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Image steganography was recently proposed as an extra data protection mechanism for medical records. This paper describes a data-hiding approach for DICOM medical pictures. To ensure secrecy, we use Adversarial Neural Cryptography with SHA-256 (ANC-SHA-256) to encrypt and conceal the RGB patient picture within the medical image's Region of Non-Interest (RONI). To ensure anonymity, we use ANC-SHA-256 to encrypt the RGB patient image before embedding. We employ a secure hash method with 256bit (SHA-256) to produce a digital signature from the information linked to the DICOM file to validate the authenticity and integrity of medical pictures. Many tests were conducted to assess visual quality using diverse medical datasets, including MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound cover pictures. The LFW dataset was chosen as a patient hidden picture. The proposed method performs well in visual quality measures including the PSNR average of 67.55, the NCC average of 0.9959, the SSIM average of 0.9887, the UQI average of 0.9859, and the APE average of 3.83. It outperforms the most current techniques in these visual quality measures (PSNR, MSE, and SSIM) across six medical assessment categories. Furthermore, the proposed method offers great visual quality while being resilient to physical adjustments, histogram analysis, and other geometrical threats such as cropping, rotation, and scaling. Finally, it is particularly efficient in telemedicine applications with high achieving security with a ratio of 99% during remote transmission of Electronic Patient Records (EPR) over the Internet, which safeguards the patien

An Efficient Two-State Feature Attention-Based GRU for Text Classification

Text classification has become crucial for mechanically sorting documents into specific categories. The goal of classification is to assign a predefined group or class to an instance based on its characteristics. To attain precise text categorization, a feature selection scheme is employed to categorize significant features and eliminate irrelevant, undesirable, and noisy ones, thereby reducing the dimensionality of the feature space. Many advanced deep learning algorithms have been developed to handle text classification drawbacks. Recurrent neural networks (RNNs) are broadly employed in text classification tasks. In this paper, we referred to a novel Two-state GRU based on a Feature Attention strategy, known as Two-State Feature Attention GRU (TS-FA-GRU). The proposed framework identifies and categorizes word polarity through consecutive mechanisms and word-feature capture. Furthermore, the developed study incorporates a pre-feature attention TS-FA-GRU to capture essential features at an early stage, followed by a post-feature attention GRU that mimics the decoder’s function to refine the extracted features. To enhance computational performance, the reset gate in the ordinary GRU is replaced with an update gate, which helps to reduce redundancy and complexity. The effectiveness of the developed model was tested on five benchmark text datasets and compared with five well-established traditional text classification methods. The proposed TS-FA-GRU model demonstrated superior performance over several traditional approaches regarding convergence rate and accuracy. Experimental outcomes revealed that the TS-FA-GRU model achieved excellent text classification accuracies of 93.86%, 92.69%, 94.73%, 92.46%, and 88.23 on the 20NG, R21578, AG News, IMDB, and Amazon review dataset respectively.
