The Transmission Control Protocol - TCP has been widely researched in many different networking technologies such as wireless, optical, satellite, sensor, and wired since it is the most used protocol on the Internet. In Wireless mesh networks, this protocol still has challenges due to its origin and implementations for wired networks. This paper proposes an adaptation on the congestion control mechanism using information from the network layer to improve TCP performance through the vertical calibration across layer technique. The result is the Cross Layer Mesh - Transmission Control Protocol (CLM-TCP). To show the efficiency of the proposal, simulations in the NS-2 were carried out.

To efficiently and appropriately integrate daylighting strategies in their projects, building designers need reliable methods to address issues such as daily and seasonal variations or the balance between sufficient illumination with visual and thermal comfort aspects. This integration must also happen early in the design process to have a significant impact on energy savings and ultimate building performance. This paper proposes to address this need by fulfilling three major objectives: support the design process using a goal-oriented approach based on iterative design improvement suggestions;provide climate-based annual metrics in a visual and synthesized form;and relate quantitative and qualitative performance criteria thanks to a novel interface for browsing daylighting analysis data in various forms. A methodology to achieve these objectives is described here as the Lightsolve approach.

Wireless sensor networks consist of small nodes with sensing, computation and wireless communication capabilities. Various architectures and node deployment strategies have been developed for wireless sensor network, depending upon the requirement of application. Sensor networks are used in different applications e.g. environmental monitoring, habitat monitoring, home automation, military application etc. In this paper we present survey of state-of-the-art of architecture and node deployment in wireless sensor network. We present the characteristics of the environment in which the sensor networks may deploy. Node deployment in wireless sensor network is application dependent and can be either deterministic or randomized. But in both the cases coverage of interested area is the main issue. We also explain the routing protocols for wireless sensor network.
